@nobiwan meh, left and right politics are just an oversimplification of more complex social issues, and should generally be ignored entirely. As far as politicians really go, all they ACTUALLY care about is getting in office so they can make a lot of money and do very little. Both sides.
@nomither6 ROFL! Ahh my GOD see? Your perspective of how modern society actually is, is so completely false that it's literally insane. How utterly pitiful. You have no clue.
@KahnArtizt07 no actually being "woke" means it's apparently wrong to think hundreds of years of systematic oppression and discrimination are bad things, and you should just accept them as part of society. Anti-wokers are terrible people. Sorry but it's quite true.
Wow umm, I would call this guy an idiot, but I wouldn't want to insult all the people that aren't half as much of an idiot as him. Oh and yes, things like bugs and framerates absolutely, positively do matter. They matter quite a lot. Duh. Oh and nobody ONCE said anything negative about the main character.
@munstre LOL, right, Sony couldn't ever possibly do something to make sure their software actually works properly because of money. What an utterly daft excuse. Unbelievable.
Oh, and WHAT exclusives? Two worth mentioning. Wow. I'm impressed so much by that. It explains everything.
@MFTWrecks it's called not caring about the end user experience. Granted it is a common problem with the industry on the whole, which is why it baffles me that so many people don't realize how little the industry really cares about the user experience and will defend this company or that company to death. They don't care about you.
@Meka590 right, because Sony isn't doing a lot of anticonsumer practices recently, sure..... I guess if you wanted to be nice you could say their apathy towards their customers is really showing, especially in supporting their long time customers. Whether you realize it or not.
Have people never heard of Ubisoft before? The company that tries to get you to preorder games for 120 dollars? Why anyone would support them and pay anywhere near full price for their games is beyond me.
@ShogunRok you clearly don't actually know anything about realtime rendering if you believe that. Nor does anyone else who is trying to tell you the difference is genuinely significant, for that matter. The lighting is essentially the same, with maybe some color tweaking here and there. There is clearly no shadow resolution upgrades, and there is no SSAO, which is just pathetic. It. Is. Factually. Not. That. Different. Looking. Period.
It is yet another fine example of Sony simply not caring whatsoever about it's consumers. They want you to buy everything off the crappy implementation of the store that they have on their consoles, you see, and if you don't like it then too bad. It's a mentality that is of course genuinely detrimental to sales, and is therefore quite pathetic. Yes, the design is horrible, yes, the console implementation is poor by any decent standards. You are an absolute fool if you defend either one. But really I mean, there are geocities web pages made by users circa 1995 that have a better design structure than this new website. It's one of the worst ever made. The ONLY way it got approved is because Sony does not care about the end user at all.
Oh and while we're at it the new mobile app removed a TON of user functionality and social features, further proving that they do not give a damn about anything that benefits the user experience. It is appalling.
@bbq_boy yeah ya know there is this universal, worldwide problem, well one of the many problems, of society, in that thanks to the power of mass media advertising people have been taught to believe essentially from birth that a mere business has some sort of authority over how things are done in all the different industries out there, and not only that but everything businesses do is somehow in the interest of the customer. All of that is, of course, absolutely false. Industries only do what the consumer allows them to get away with doing, and all but the smallest minority of businesses, and even business owners, would ever do anything that genuinely benefits the consumer in any way that doesn't also benefit them. Now it may sound like I'm stating the obvious, and I am. Too bad most people don't realize it.
@deathaxe bankers, WTF? No, even a company like CDPR doesn't need a loan to develop a project, and a movie production company will typically get their money from the movie studio they signed a deal with, if in fact the studio themselves aren't the production company. I know people like to think of CDPR as some mom and pop but they've been very successful for well over a decade.
@tselliot the reason for that is because Nintendo still cares about the quality of their games, plain and simple. It's not a complex situation here, the state of the industry as it now is has for the most part forgotten why people buy a video game in the first place. Not because it's well advertised, and not because it looks pretty. Well actually there's way too many schlubs that DO buy games for those reasons, but they really shouldn't.
@NoCode23 yeah right, what do think the reason is they released it in the state they knew it was in? Yeah, millions of preorders. Refunds are not a deterrent either because the amount of people that actually try to get one is tiny. No the blame absolutely is primarily on the behavior of the consumer. If it's been proven over and over that you can get away with anything while making a profit then why would you stop.
@neenja yeah I love it when people try to tell you a business model isn't deeply flawed just because it's been in use for a long time. It's a gigantic logical fallacy.
Companies care less and less about the actual quality of their games. Period. That is it. If you got a problem with it I suggest you quit buying games before they come out, and quit buying season passes. If not then things are only going to continue to get worse. So yeah, wake up. Oh and you journalists and general populace really need to quit acting like piecemeal DLC and staggering a release is something that's required for a game to be financially successful. It's not. Whatsoever.
@thedevilsjester well you should probably broaden your horizons a little bit. Did you just get interested in exclusives? Yeah there weren't very many of them since Sony did everything to dissuade developers from making games just for the system. A lot of the lesser known games are what really made the system shine, indie or otherwise. Games like Distraint which came out on the system a few months ago, it's one of the best psychological horror games ever made and it fits the system perfectly, or Super Star Wars which I just started getting into finally a couple weeks ago, once again a perfect fit.
@SuperSaeko oh well bleh, I never did try the remote play, I know that was always a majorly advertised feature but hey, especially for games like Second Son I'm certainly going to prefer playing them on my Ultra HDTV. I don't really even like casting a smartphone because of the artifacting.
@HollowSpectre oookay then. I haven't had to buy a single physical Vita game thanks to the old, non-horrid PS Plus and also excellent sales, go figure.
@GADG3Tx87 LOL, luddite. What you bought that god awful Minecraft Telltale game? Because that's in fact the sole game THIS GEN you would not be able to download.
@thedevilsjester heh, you simply had absolutely no idea how to use your Vita in any viable way for some hilarious reason. Especially in the games department.
If you wanted to know just how little Sony thinks of it's consumers, well haha, I think you got your answer. If that whole trying to push 720p only PS Now crapola hadn't already tipped you off.
@Deadcow yeah well, with a game only two years old that is clearly using an engine that is vastly superior to most of the engines games run on these days, there wasn't a lot they could actually do beyond imoroved rug textures. I mean people expect miracles from hardware when that's simply not how hardware progression works. Much less so now than ever.
Oh please, the difference in actual graphical fidelity is bare minimal at best. The lighting isn't better, it's simply different, changed to give it a different look. Probably because things like that fool the technologically ignorant.
@Deltath wowsers, you'd make a really good lawyer, trying to call an obvious lie not a lie, when it's unabashedly a lie. Call it whatever you want I guess. Oh, you can call it bending the truth I suppose. Because yes, legally you can be implicant, and you can be leading, and it's not called a lie, technically. Too bad law systems and semantics don't go by the realities of the world eh?
Yeah I'll get Avengers when it's 20 dollars in two months. That's what mediocrity is actually worth. If you don't think the game is mediocre then you are simply being dazzled by the license.
Oh yeah, people will complain about being spoon fed the same game every year but that won't stop them from paying full price for it, hell probably even preordering it. The lack of thought process is astounding, absolutely astounding. Pavlov would find it hilarious.
@KidBoruto yeah no kidding, Steam completely codified the concept of letting you upgrade the base version of a game you want for a nominal fee through an upgrade right there on the game page,, including whenever that game is on sale, the upgrade also goes on sale. I absolutely guarantee they've made hundreds of millions over the years off of upgrades. But apparently a lot of people can't understand that some companies are simply better at business than others, while not jerking around their customers every chance they get. Which is of course one of the reasons the gaming industry will never be on the same level as other industries like the fast food industry for example. They could be if they used better business models, but they simply refuse.
@Pharmboy6 yeah right, because nobody should really expect to get the exact same game they already bought, just running on better hardware because uh... corporatism? The PS4 and Xbox One versions have absolutely god awful framerates, BTW, in case you were wondering, but apparently not optimizing your game engine to run decently is considered standard practice these days. Along with not testing patches before you release them, tossing out battle passes for full priced games, and other incredulous crap that should in no way be considered acceptable business behavior, and most certainly isn't considered acceptable by anyone who actually uses their brain every once in awhile.
Remedy is a good developer. They are NOT a good company. They are a bunch of sellouts, and have been for a very long time. I do not buy their games for more than 20 dollars. You can act like 505 is solely responsible all you like. You are wrong. Remedy decided to work with them of their own free will, and probably did it for a monetary reason. So ya know, wake up a little bit.
@DeepSpace5D it's slightly possible they could have three games this time out and that could be the reason why. That they have done before with Black Ops 3 and Destiny 2, specifically. So two times previously....

Umm, no. The only thing that has been improved is the texture resolution, and nothing more. There is nothing significant about this crap.
