Watching Lions V Australia atm. Epic game so far. Delighted to see this performance from Australia.

After that though, I got the plat for Nightreign the other night but there are a few dark bosses I want to beat too.
And then back to building roads in Death Stranding 2.

I'd definitely consider Avowed, but a Fable collection would be an instant buy for me.
Well, maybe not instant, just in case they release it digital then 6 months later drop a physical version.

Just one trophy left for the plat in Nightreign, but I'll probably spend most of my time building roads in Death Stranding 2.

Just did a quick search to see if anyone in EU was selling it and saw a PS1 version for pre-order on a site called entertainmentearth. (Looks like a US site too)
I think that's the one I'd go for, but not before the house is done.

Edit: Zaavi Ireland is selling the PS2 one for €23.49. I'm definitely interested in these.

@tdolla2000 tbf corporations are all the same, but in the case you mentioned I think that studio was shut down so Sony could startup a new one under it's own umbrella with most of the same people. Or at the very least the same key people.

@naruball Exactly. There's too much glee in being outraged it seems. Outraged by everything, offended for everyone, zero self-awareness.

The real issue is nobody stops to think about their first thought anymore, because if they do they'll miss their opportunity to post first.

This game was always going to end up on XBOX though. It's a very successful live service title, the player numbers are consistent, and there's always a significant spike when an event kicks off. (I was just hoping they'd drop it on XBOX during an event when it looks like we're losing and there are no reinforcements left... Would have been epic.)

They'd be mad to not release it on Switch 2 as well. I'm assuming that's sold millions of units already.

As for diluting the platform, I mean I can't play Death Stranding 2 anywhere else right now, and Ghost of Yotei is just a few months out 🤷

This whole thing is just another advertisement for why we don't need social media anymore.

With live service titles it's about players in the game.
With first-party exclusives it's still about players on the platform.

I imagine this is the way Sony are thinking now.

Don't be afraid to try a few maps on the lower difficulties to get a feel for it too.

@dardel It's easy to jump into. If you're worried it's too late to join in or you've missed too much (as is the fear with returning Destiny 2 players for example), don't stress.
There's no "campaign" really or any NPCs with real character to interact with. Everything is objective based. Think of yourself as one of the little units running out of an infantry mill in a strategy game, because that's essentially all we are.

I will say that there's an overarching propaganda based meta-narrative that's been running since launch, but you could find that online summed up in a paragraph and then you'd legit be up to speed.

As for how far other players might have progressed ahead of you, it's a level playing field. A lvl 1 player has all of the same stats as a level 150 player. The only difference potentially is the stratagems that we unlock as we play. That's your main objective really - Farming resources, upgrading your ship and unlocking more stratagems so you can eventually be one of the people on the map raining fiery hell down on everything.

You'll also find that the players who no longer need resources are happy to farm if they see lower level players in the squad. The community is really cool like that.

One thing in particular that you said there struck a chord with me - They can't come after all of us.

I'm in Ireland. During austerity here the government tried to introduce a water tax. The idea was that they would use that money to maintain the reservoirs, the pipes, the filtration systems. Everything.
The thing is, we already pay taxes which are used to maintain the reservoirs, the pipes, the filtration systems... So we would be paying a second time for the same thing.
Naturally there was uproar. The government said there would be fines and prosecutions for anyone who didn't pay.

So nobody paid.

It was like everyone had the same thought all at once - If none of us pay they can't come after all of us.

And it worked 🤷‍♂️ They realised how many people they would need to prosecute and just gave up, on that attempt at least.
Sometimes our refusal is our most powerful resource. Something as simple as a boycott, when used against the powerful, at the very least it frustrates them.

I don't do political alignment personally. I look at the issue, see whose plan makes the most sense re solving the issue, and I vote.
For me the divide has always been about the classes, and all the political divide does is keep us working class folks at each others throats.

Delighted to hear it. Some of us were looking forward to this one for effin years, and it didn't disappoint when it landed.
The boss battles are amazing at times.

Just a shame it seems to have flown in under a lot of radars.
If you like anime and ARPG, you'll like this game.

A good first-person survival horror game with an optional VR mode would be nice 🤞

Nightreign and Death Stranding 2 for me after this Lions game is over.

Surprised by how much I'm loving DS2. I couldn't finish the first game, but this one feels very special so far. That opening was quietly epic.

Very excited for this.
I love seeing all of the fantasy and dark fantasy games we're getting lately, but more often than not they end up being a hardcore experience.
As I've mentioned before, I tend to limit that kind of exp to FromSoftware titles so I don't burnout on them. So it's great to see a solid action fantasy title that I can chill with.

I'm looking forward to trying the PvE mode.
It's a great little title. Such a shame more people don't seem to be aware of it.

I've been getting my Kings Field fix from PSVR2, and Undead Citadel was just announced today so I'm well happy.

Looks almost exactly like what I want.

I've been craving a swords and sorcery or swords and sandals type game from Naughty Dog, or at least in their action adventure style, for years. Nice to see a few starting to appear.

Between this, Echoes of the End and Phantom Blade Zero, maybe we're at the end of the SoulsClones era? I love me some Souls, but I tend to limit myself to the FromSoftware releases so I don't burnout on the genre.

This gen I have more unfinished games than I've had since the NES era. And back then I only had a backlog because I wasn't good enough to finish the likes of Solstice or Battle of Olympus.

I got into PS1 for the third party games at the time. I didn't think much about first party until PS3. Maybe it's a generational thing, but I just don't feel let down by the lack of first party games when there's so much of everything else to play.

Plus, Death Stranding and Ghost of Yotei are how close?

Looking forward to this.

@Oram77 Fair comment. I've bounced off of the story a few times and I find it hard to listen to the dialogue in EN, but the levels look fantastic and combat is something else entirely.
Timing a dodge just right feels amazing.
Has to be some of the most exciting combat I've played in the last year or two.

My main issue with it is that watching her run or jump makes me feel like I'm constantly about to break my own ankles 😂

@Ravix I hadn't heard that but it explains so much. You get the sense that there was a serious change of direction at some point.

It's a shame because when it first appeared it was interesting.

@AdamNovice I hadn't heard they were offered Syphon Filter. The IP is a bit obscure by now, but a decent reboot would have pulled me in on nostalgia alone.

But yeah, this game is on my radar for all the wrong reasons unfortunately. It feels very half baked.

Definitely an 8 for me. I finally have a team of three to play it so it's a lot more fun now. It really shines when you're all partied up together and talking to one another.

The lack of two player mode at launch is disappointing, but at least they've addressed it.
It is what it is.

@Enriesto I'm looking at Free Roam gameplay on the Kit & Krysta channel right now. Looks like such a chill time.
I'm not looking at any gameplay for the new tracks though. I can't wait to try them for the first time. "Hype" is an understatement.

Had it pre-ordered with Mario Kart World (MK is a top 5 franchise for me), but cancelled it a week before launch. I still want it, but there are too many games and other things coming up in the next month.
I'll definitely pick it up over the summer though.

Instant nostalgia for Mick and Mack: Global Gladiators.

I'll be playing Nightreign myself, but I'm feeling the need to take a break from games for a week or so and read something instead.

@Titntin To add to your point about third party at PS1 launch - With an assist from Capcom, Sony added additional hardware to the console specifically to make Street Fighter run.
Back then I bought PlayStation for Resi, FF and Tomb Raider.

First Party on PlayStation didn't become something I thought about at all until The Last of Us on PS3. I think maybe Syphon Filter, Alundra and Legend of Dragoon were the only first party games I played on PS1, but I don't know if I even realised they were first party.

I'm always hoping for Alundra, but getting Resi 2 and 3 is very nice.

@ShogunRok They're my favourite dev but I don't disagree with any of this. It's definitely starting to come across as a little obnoxious.

I was just happy to see the cloak hang over the rear of the horse instead of clipping through it 😌 I'd settle for that.

@Czar_Khastik Tenchu, Alundra and Vagrant Story I think are the last franchises I love from the early PlayStation days that are still stuck in limbo. If they brought them back on Premium even I'd never ask for anything on that tier ever again.

I want to get stuck into Nightreign, but I have my favourite gun at lvl 24 in Helldivers. I'll keep going with that for now until I hit 25, then jump over.
