Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS5 Pro?

Shepherd_Tallon

DPD did that thing where they say they tried to deliver but there was nobody home.
I called the depot and they said that's what they do when they're behind schedule and skipping you until the next day.
Should be here tomorrow.

Re: Golden Joystick Reveals Nominations for 'Ultimate Game of the Year'

From what's listed I couldn't choose between Rebirth and Astro. Although my gut is pulling me towards Astro.
Very happy to see Metaphor and Dragon Age in there. I'm off work and just about to start Metaphor this morning.

I can only assume that Rogue Flight is not listed because not enough people have played it yet.
If you enjoyed the likes of Thunderblade or Ace Combat back in the day, give it a look.

Re: Ex-PlayStation Exec Shawn Layden Says There's Been a 'Collapse' in Gaming Creativity

Shepherd_Tallon

At the top there's definitely a drop in creativity, but the smaller studios and indies are killing it.
I'm playing Unicorn Overlord atm. I can't wait for 6pm so I can forget work and jump back in.
Rogue Flight is probably the game I'm most excited for right now, and Light No Fire is right behind that.

The creativity is still there, you just won't find as much of it with a lot of the big publishers.
EDIT: That's not to say you won't find any with the big guys either. Elden Ring, Zelda and Astro being the obvious examples.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?

Shepherd_Tallon

@dschons If I'm not paralyzed by fear playing a horror game or watching a horror movie I'm legit disappointed.
It can be a nuisance though - I couldn't finish Alien Isolation for example - Was walking down a corridor, did a quick 180 and walked straight into the android I didn't realise had been following me.
I had instant muscle spasms in my neck and chest and haven't played the game since 🫠

As for horror in VR, I haven't been brave enough yet πŸ˜‚

Re: Ever-Evolving, Live Service Experiences Like Fortnite Are 'the Future of Gaming'

Shepherd_Tallon

@RiceC03 I'd have similar sentiments. They're definitely a massive part of the future, but not the whole future.
Obviously the guy who needs people to keep investing in Fortnite as a platform is going to say it's the future, like the people who needed streaming to succeed said it was the future or that we'd have to get used to not owning our games.

tbh though I can see Fortnite becoming a kind of Oasis or PS Home where we go to launch other games.
It's kind of already happened with Lego Fortnite.

But no. It's like we said before here - As long as we want single player games and consoles, they'll keep making single player games and consoles.
There's plenty of room.

Also, didn't Black Myth WuKong just happen a few weeks ago?
We're fine.

Re: Tech Experts Reckon PS5 Pro Could Help Pave the Way to PS6

Shepherd_Tallon

@Blofse @AccessibleDaydream I don't know. The base consoles and the Pro range are in two different tiers. PS5 Pro is positioned as a top tier product.
PS6 when it launches, even if it's more advanced than PS5 Pro, it will be in the "starter" tier. In my mind it will be around €600.00 - €650.00 at launch.

It won't reach as high as €800.00. I'll eat my socks if it does.
