DPD did that thing where they say they tried to deliver but there was nobody home.
I called the depot and they said that's what they do when they're behind schedule and skipping you until the next day.
Should be here tomorrow.
From what's listed I couldn't choose between Rebirth and Astro. Although my gut is pulling me towards Astro. Very happy to see Metaphor and Dragon Age in there. I'm off work and just about to start Metaphor this morning.
I can only assume that Rogue Flight is not listed because not enough people have played it yet. If you enjoyed the likes of Thunderblade or Ace Combat back in the day, give it a look.
Alan Wake 2 and Dragon Age Veilguard arrived during the week, but I'll put them up for Christmas alongside the PS5 Pro. For now I'll be finishing off Unicorn Overlord. I'm loving every minute with this game.
@Kidfunkadelic83 yeah it's not been happening for me at all π I still think if I play it on the portal instead of the TV it won't be as scary. Maybe tomorrow I'll try...
A β¬10.00 upgrade too. Very nice. Wasn't it confirmed that save files carry over? I had a few side quests in the expansion that I never finished off...
Nice read, Sammy.
Sounds like a solid diversion from the stuff I usually play. I'll give it a go. I've never played a lego game before either, so this will be a new experience for me.
"To be honest, the reaction has surprised us somewhat."
A polite way of saying this reaction is silly?
Plans change in the creative process on a good day and after all of their plans were revealed by those scummy hackers (can we just start calling them thieves btw), there were always going to be changes.
@Titntin This has been my experience too. I keep trying to like it but the tedium kicks in eventually. I've put in 116 hours but I keep bouncing off of it. Maybe some couch co-op would fix it as you say, but otherwise, it's not my game.
It looks good but it's probably going to be hardcore. Which is fine, it's just that those games take a lot of time and effort, and I like to limit those experiences to the likes of FromSoftware. If I played every hardcore hack n slash or Soulslike I'd just burn out.
@themightyant This is mostly how I see it too - Sony used to make a lot of smaller titles, but those games are coming from a lot of places right now. All I need from Sony in that regard is for them to ensure those games end up on PS5.
Tiny Glade for example, I don't need Sony to produce an equivalent. I just need them to get that game on my console.
At the top there's definitely a drop in creativity, but the smaller studios and indies are killing it.
I'm playing Unicorn Overlord atm. I can't wait for 6pm so I can forget work and jump back in.
Rogue Flight is probably the game I'm most excited for right now, and Light No Fire is right behind that.
The creativity is still there, you just won't find as much of it with a lot of the big publishers.
EDIT: That's not to say you won't find any with the big guys either. Elden Ring, Zelda and Astro being the obvious examples.
My first thought reading this was, I wonder if this scenario would make Square Enix happy...
Delighted for Bloober Team though. They were getting a lot of flack after that combat trailer.
Maybe this weekend I'll actually have the guts to walk further than the church...
Excellent. Just added Dino Crisis and Dead Island 2 to my library.
I'm another who'd like to buy Dino Crisis. Usually there's an option. I assume it's an oversight?
I'm getting plenty of use out of mine. Even if it's just dropping down to the family house and sitting on the couch with the dog for a few hours without missing out on any of that precious weekend gaming time.
@Dobbos Same with me. Spiders on the TV screen never bothered me. A spider crawling down my literal TV screen though, that would be enough to send me running for the spider kit in a panic. (A towel, a pint glass, a piece of card, some valium.)
@DrVenture69 I need to start AS2 actually. It looks like more of fun time than a scary time. I reckon I'd be okayish for most of REV too actually, until the dollhouse. Then I'd be wrecked π
@dschons If I'm not paralyzed by fear playing a horror game or watching a horror movie I'm legit disappointed. It can be a nuisance though - I couldn't finish Alien Isolation for example - Was walking down a corridor, did a quick 180 and walked straight into the android I didn't realise had been following me. I had instant muscle spasms in my neck and chest and haven't played the game since π«
As for horror in VR, I haven't been brave enough yet π
My copy came today. I'll do the same thing I did in 2001 - Walk from the car to the town, freak out over the vibe, turn it off and not play it for five years π€·
I'm surprised they didn't wait to release it closer to the launch of the movie.
Or maybe they feel it has legs and it'll just chug along in the background regardless.
Either way, it's on my wishlist but I'll get it on sale in a year or two.
@RiceC03 I'd have similar sentiments. They're definitely a massive part of the future, but not the whole future.
Obviously the guy who needs people to keep investing in Fortnite as a platform is going to say it's the future, like the people who needed streaming to succeed said it was the future or that we'd have to get used to not owning our games.
tbh though I can see Fortnite becoming a kind of Oasis or PS Home where we go to launch other games.
It's kind of already happened with Lego Fortnite.
But no. It's like we said before here - As long as we want single player games and consoles, they'll keep making single player games and consoles.
There's plenty of room.
Also, didn't Black Myth WuKong just happen a few weeks ago?
We're fine.
@Blofse @AccessibleDaydream I don't know. The base consoles and the Pro range are in two different tiers. PS5 Pro is positioned as a top tier product.
PS6 when it launches, even if it's more advanced than PS5 Pro, it will be in the "starter" tier. In my mind it will be around β¬600.00 - β¬650.00 at launch.
It won't reach as high as β¬800.00. I'll eat my socks if it does.
Have Sony said that this is what they are trying to achieve? I remember this same things happening a few months back, but it was back to normal after a few days. I assumed it was a bug where the news feed was displaying instead of recent activity.
Absolutely, when Square picks a direction they tend to put their blinders on and go for it. I wouldn't be surprised if their "aggressive" third party approach is exactly what happened here.
On the other hand I'd like to think we're getting a dedicated DLC stage later.
I don't see it on mine. Is it regional?
I see what some others are saying about it being a bug from the news feed too. I definitely remember that particular bug happening once before.
Are we maybe jumping the gun here?
Edit: I took a look and it definitely looks like the newsfeed bug.
Other than Helldivers, this is the online game from SIE that I'm most interested in. It feels like an easy win if they can keep the gameplay from the main series intact.

Re: Round Up: PS5 Pro Reviews Love New Tech and a Glimpse of PS6 Potential
Mine just dispatched.
I think the odds of it arriving a day early are slim, but at least it's a guarantee for tomorrow.
Re: In the UK, You Can't Buy a PS5 Pro Disc Drive without Paying a Premium
Very relieved that I ordered one after reading that first Push Square article about this the day after the Pro reveal.
Thanks for the PSA!

Re: Official List of PS5 Pro Launch Games Revealed by Sony
Rogue Flight???
One of my favourite games of the year. If it has upgrades it'll be the first game I fire up on the pro.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 553
Alan Wake 2 and Dragon Age Veilguard arrived during the week, but I'll put them up for Christmas alongside the PS5 Pro.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552
Rogue Flight, Unicorn Overlord, maybe some Helldivers, maybe not some Silent Hill.
Re: These Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Comparisons Are Absolutely Insane
A β¬10.00 upgrade too. Very nice.

Re: PS5 Pro Patch for The Last of Us 2 Remastered Already Available Now
@Intr1n5ic Same. 100% agreed. π
Re: PS5 Pro Patch for The Last of Us 2 Remastered Already Available Now
@Intr1n5ic I love dragging that hype out to Christmas where possible.
Re: PS5 Pro Patch for The Last of Us 2 Remastered Already Available Now
@get2sammyb π
I love when Sammy goes through a "I'm not humouring this muck," phase.
On a relevant note, I forgot how close we are to the Pro release.
The big question is, use it right away or put it up for Christmas? π€π€π€
Re: PlayStation, Bungie Still Going Ahead with Internal Live Service Team
@get2sammyb Agreed.
At the very least people are being given a project to work on instead of being let go.
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Physical Version Now Official, PS5 Disc Included
Perfect. Been waiting for this announcement for months. Much appreciated.

Re: Bank Balances Beware! Over 1,000 Ghoulish PS5, PS4 Games Discounted for Halloween
Saw the three Metro games for something nuts like 8 euro last night.
Couldn't say no at that price, not with Metro Awakening on the way.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 550
Unicorn Overlord and Diablo for me.
I gave up trying to play Silent Hill, for now...
Re: Dragon Age Series Ditches Those Disgusting Spiders in The Veilguard
@Dobbos Oh there's no actual Valium, don't worry.
Just a mild exaggeration.
When I was younger I'd have squished them, but at some point I just started letting them out under the deck.
Re: Dragon Age Series Ditches Those Disgusting Spiders in The Veilguard

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?
@DrVenture69 It has a horde mode???
I hadn't realised. I can see myself killing a lit of Sunday afternoons in that.

It looks like more of fun time than a scary time.
I reckon I'd be okayish for most of REV too actually, until the dollhouse. Then I'd be wrecked π
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?
@J2theEzzo @Shalooda
π
I couldn't do it. I have Resi 7 and I have PSVR, I just could never bring myself to do it.
That Kitchen Demo in VR would definitely knock a few years off my life π
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?
@Kidfunkadelic83 @colonelkilgore
Same π
I've been playing Diablo and telling myself I'll start Silent Hill in five minutes for about three hours.

Re: First Review Scores for PS5's Metaphor: ReFantazio, Silent Hill 2 Are Glowing
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Ah, fair point then if it's true. Whatever about XII, but X-2 was the first FF game I couldn't get along with.
Re: First Review Scores for PS5's Metaphor: ReFantazio, Silent Hill 2 Are Glowing
@RudeAnimat0r I was going to say the same thing. I thought the opposite was true in fact, that Famitsu scores are highly regarded.
Delighted to see good first impressions for both of these. I'll add them to my Christmas/Post Christmas list.

I've been itching for a Thunder Blade or an After Burner for ages too.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 548
I got the plat on Astro last night (that final challenge mission took me all week), so I'll be back to Ghostwire and Helldivers today.
