@Decoy_Snake Sonic X Shadow wasn’t held up as the “game of the year” nor was it the face of a console publisher.

Also Imagine of if all the people complaining about concord and live service games online actually bought Astrobot. Doesn’t look like people put their money where their mouth was.

@Nintendo4Sonic Characters aren’t enough at this point. Especially when most of these characters were in other Tenkaichi games, that gimmick doesn’t hit the same.

The only real offline modes are:

Episode “story” battles. which has a bunch of boring sideshows. Also didn’t use any of the GT or Movie things, yet it’s still somehow quantity over quality and padded out.

Custom battles…with no voice acting, unnatural dialogue, and pretty much no real animation.

The game lacked fun modes with replay value. Customization is barebones.

Online doesn’t have crossplay or rollback and it was filled with exploits.

@breakneck Frontiers was successful because people liked the game. If what you said was true sales would’ve dropped off.

Switch wasn’t even that dominant sales wise for either of these games also. PlayStation actually had a higher percentage of buyers at least at launch for both games.

Also the game dropped the same week as god of war ragnarok.

@naruball lol How does people waiting until a game is free or buying it for 5 dollars truly help a company? That’s barely any actual profit made.

And that’s not even happening to that big of a degree either. Always the same cod gta fifa madden etc on the charts and occasionally a new title or 2 will make it and then immediately fall off the charts the next month.

These smaller games virtually make no difference in the long run to these companies. They all want 5-10 million sellers minimum

@PuppetMaster define “well”. These are average numbers at best. Especially for a 94 meta game,that everyone on the internet said they “wanted more of”, yet only like 1 in 60 PS5 owners bought the game.

Any half decent game with a name can sell a million copies these days,that’s the floor now.
