Re: Sony Sued for 'Abusing Its Dominant Position in the Console Market'

Ricowtje

It is a bit different from what is written here though. The lawsuit is not only about the pushing to the digital market, it’s also about digital content only available for purchase in the PS Store. Sony does not allow third party retailers to sell download codes of certain content (indie games, digital deluxe packages, season passes, deluxe upgrades, etc), so that people get to choose where they buy their content. Meaning Sony is owning the digital market, giving them a monopolised position. (Which is not allowed by European laws)

Third party retailers usually offer lower pricing in the Netherlands on base games when bought physically. The same can be expected for digital content, thus the consumer always has to pay more when going digital, because they can only buy it at PS Store.

So the goal here is to make all content available at multiple retailers, not only Sony.

Re: Returnal Crashes May Be Sony's Problem, Other Bugs Being Investigated

Played for 11 hours total. Had my first crash, second half of the game. Picked up a resin bit in the 5th area just before the boss. Was having an amazing run too. ***** part is, need to redo area 4 to get where i was. I get the roguelike setup, but with runs that are this elaborate it’s bound to bite players in the ass without a save function (now people who have time to do massive sessions to get there)

Re: Reaction: Why Hasn't PS5's Price and Release Date Been Revealed Yet?

To be fair. All the Microsoft info leaked. That’s why they shared all their info. It was all planned for next week, so it’s not like Microsoft was ready to share their own cards just yet.

Sony probably had the same timing though, so just expecting more info next week.

While Microsoft claimed them not being in the same console wars as Sony, they did not actually want to be the first to give more info. Sony is exactly the same, so they will definitely do something with the new info on the Xbox front.

Though in case of Xbox and Ps5, they were both WAY too late to share info with the people. A lot of people can’t afford a console just like that, so they both definitely lost momentum and thus people buying the consoles at launch. (Luckely I can afford it though, so getting m both, next to owning my Switch already lol)

So many articles on Sony smacking money around and people complaining. Let’s not forget Microsoft started the exclusivity war. they started it at the very first showcase where the console was shown that they would have a bunch of exclusive timed and permanent.

Why is everyone looking at Sony smacking doing the same? Xbox won for being more powerful, Sony focusses on speed. Sony is just using one of the Microsoft tactics and trying to get the 2-1 win here. And who can blame them?

Let’s also not forget that the last Xbox showcase had about 80% launch exclusives too lol
