Rockstar can go take a steaming dump in their collective corporate pants at this point.... I loved RDR and have 2400+ hours in Red Dead Online and still play to this day because the world is so beautiful, but it'll be a cold day in Guarma before I give Rockstar my cash for a $50 PORT of a 13 year old game that I can still play on my X360 WITHOUT any missing features... f**k Strauss Zelnick and f**k the corporate shareholders for their lazy cash-grabbing crap!! πΈπΈπΈ
@DETfaninATL thanks but believe me I've tried every possible "workaround" there is and have had zero success joining directly into friend's games as they just don't appear. The only time I've been able to play with friends is by both of us joining onto a random player's game but even that requires hitting the refresh button 50 times in the hope that you both find the same random player, which is complete RNG anyway. My guess is they didn't get round to sorting things out server side for Early Access launch... at least for the EU region. Most of my friends in the US haven't had any trouble finding each other's games...
SO NO MENTION OF THE MONUMENTAL F**K UP THAT IS THE LACK OF ANY ABILITY TO EITHER INVITE YOUR FRIENDS OR JOIN YOUR FRIENDS ON PS5, DESPITE PAYING EXTRA FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF EARLY ACCESS? COOP IS BROKEN...
Well I hope the fighter models actually look like their real life counterparts this time round cos in UFC 4 they all looked like they'd been beaten with the ugly stick and then rendered by a malfunctioning AI π΅
DRAGON'S DOGMA 2!!! DRAGON'S DOGMA 2!!! If there's a release date in store I will be over the moon!!! π I had hope for a second trailer at the Capcom showcase, and they have since confirmed DD2 news will feature via Twitter, so for me it would be a best case scenario to have a new trailer with a release date on the back of it, but I was hedging my bets and keeping my hype in check π This new wishlist development however... π€ππ€ππ€π
Either make DDON2 and make it global, or give us the option to play as our own pawn in someone else's game via a Rift Summons, while keeping the existing pawn system as it is for the single player experience... that would make DD2 perfect! Either way I'm sure Itsuno will address the multiplayer question once the DD2 media starts to gain more momentum ahead of release... π
I so wanted FFXIV to be THE MMO for me after the hearbreaking demise of Dragon's Dogma Online (whyyyyy didn't they just open it up to the west instead of making it Japan only?!?!? ππ) but despite FFXIV being such a deep game, for someone who needs dynamic Dogma/Soulsborne/Nier/Bayo action, the combat in FFXIV is a dealbreaking let down when it comes to playing it long term... π If it had THAT combat instead of this frustrating tab-targeting skill button/rotation mehness (and that's strictly MY humble opinion lol), it would be the perfect MMO!
Yes!!! This is the news I've been waiting to hear since my last wait of 10 YEARS just to get official confirmation of DD2 haha! Thankfully this was only a 6 month wait for an update... it can only get better from here on in! I'm guessing 2024 for a possible release π€
I tried the demo and while the combat was fun, I really didn't like the Naruto run style the main character had because it just didn't feel right for the setting, and the game world just felt really linear and empty... not sure if this is how the final game will be but if it is then it's not so exciting for me. Granted I didn't finish the demo, and of course it IS just a demo so maybe the game will be bigger and better on release...
OK I'm curious about this one just because it's a Pirate game... but does anyone know what the actual gameplay will be like? Will we be stuck on the ship the whole time or will it be an Assassin's Creed Oddyssey type affair where we actually get to run around an open world on land as well...? π€
Well for my part, I have been WAITING 10 years for Capcom to announce or release a Dragon's Dogma sequel as I was one of the day one players who fell in love with it (round about 3 hours into the game when I got ambushed by a Cyclops and several Goblins on the road to the Ruins of Heavenspeak Fort, and it had turned from night to day in game by the time I defeated them all... so epic!!! π) straight away, and still consider it one of the best RPGs of all time. I had the pleasure of playing the Japan-only spiritual sequel Dragon's Dogma Online using the ol' VPN via Playstation trick and found a home with the English speaking community on World 13. Dragon's Dogma Online was amazing and exactly what I would have wanted a sequel to be, but sadly I never got to enjoy it to the fullest because I had to use Google Translate all the time in order to figure out which quests were which and what materials I needed to craft certain things etc, so unfortunately a lot of the rich in-game lore was lost in translation quite literally. Sadly despite the awesome experience I had with DDON they closed down the servers about 2 years ago now so my beautiful character and her all her cool crossover gear (Monster Hunter/Street Fighter armor etc) along with her giant chocolate bar shield was lost forever when they pulled the plug on it. I still think that had they opened DDON to the Western markets that it would be a thriving MMORPG to this day. Anyway I now wait with baited breath for Hidetaki Itsuno to finally reveal that he has been working on Dragon's Dogma 2 since he wrapped up DMC5 and I can finally rejoice at the prospect of diving back into the awesome interesting, eccentric world of Snakeskin Purses and Sultry Pareo's once again... π€π€π€π€
Well it looks decent enough visually but all we saw was some combat which was all one on one in what looked like fairly linear areas... π If it's another Soulsborne clone I'll pass as I've had my fill of Elden Ring already this year. I'm just hanging onto the optimistic idea that Capcom and Hidetaki Itsuno officially announce Dragon's Dogma 2 sometime soon π€π
I'm just curious as to whether R* has actually addressed some of the core quality of life issues a game this old carries with it...
For example:
β’Making applying body armor and taking health snacks much more accessible as opposed to calling up and navigating through the free roam menu and just generally tidying up the online Free Roam menu
β’Allowing you to sprint simply by clicking the left analog stick instead of having to hold it down (when using Standard FPS controls)
β’Allowing you to have short dial contacts on your phone (such as Lester etc) so you don't have to navigate through a now 10 year old phone menu setup and generally making the phone interactions much faster, more responsive and more up to date/intuitive.
There are loads of other QOL improvements they could make but these are just some that I HOPE they have changed π€π€π€
Also... just FYI there's some weird motion blur that affects Aloy's hair and waist area when you go into Photo Mode and you change her pose. This obviously makes taking a good posing pic difficult but it can easily be fixed by switching off Motion Blur altogether from the settings menu!! π
I think their window of opportunity to make CP an amazing game passed in 2016 when they u-turned the production, brought in a new director and basically started building a different game... so really they only had about 4 years of development on the version they released at launch as far as I gather, and that includes both PC and console versions. Not nearly enough time to build the game they promised initially π I think the best way to enjoy CP would be to pick it up with low expectations from the bargain bin, like what I did with Aliens: Colonial Marines (which of course was another bait-and-switch fiasco)... for Β£3 and zero expectations I quite enjoyed my time with it. Sadly I didn't get to enjoy CP in the same way as I was so hyped for it and picked it up at launch... I still haven't finished it a year later because I'm waiting for the PS5 version to release, and even then I'll be hedging my bets π€·ββοΈ
I bought this game at launch excited by the PvP/PvE gameplay prospect but the minute I got into a session I realised that it's just not balanced because you can have multiples of the same character on each team... this of course meant that the two stealth characters on my team were no match for the 4 tanks on the other team because they can basically one-shot you. Needless to say we didn't stand a chance and the game got old very quickly. Haven't played it since π€·ββοΈ

Pretty mid tbh... nothing terribly exciting and no Dragon's Dogma 2, but at least we'll get more DD2 at the Capcom event π
