Dragon's Dogma 2 is happening, but we're yet to see anything of the project outside of a logo — and even that might be a placeholder. The long-awaited sequel was finally announced during its own special presentation back in June, with excitable director Hideaki Itsuno telling fans that the development team would share more information in time.
Here we are six months later and we're still waiting. There were suggestions that Dragon's Dogma 2 has actually been in development for a while, but it sounds like it's only really hitting its stride behind the scenes. Speaking to Japanese gaming publication Famitsu (as translated by Gematsu), Itsuno says that "things are moving along well", and that if everything goes to plan, the team will have an "update" to share with everyone "as soon as possible".
We're going to assume that 2023 will be the year in which we get our first look at Dragon's Dogma 2 — but we're certainly not sold on the idea that it might release at some point over the next 12 months. Hopefully Capcom gives us a timeline in the new year.
