Gearbox Software has announced the first Bounty Pack DLC for Borderlands 4 will now be given away to all players for free, rather than being tied to the season pass. It's named How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, and is available for all PS5 owners now via an update.
As this content pack was originally supposed to be exclusive to the season pass, the developer will now develop a fifth Bounty Pack to make up for today's free launch. This way, the season pass still offers four Bounty Packs, as advertised.
Today's content update will add new missions for every player to complete along with a Vault Card that grants access to extra rewards and up to 24 cosmetic items. You can view what's on offer in the image below:

To start the Bounty Pack, look out for the Christmas present located in all the major hub areas. Interacting with one of them will start a mission to help Rush.
In a press release, Gearbox Software then looked ahead to a December update: "For players looking for an extreme challenge, we’ll be releasing a challenging boss fight as a free update in mid-December. Bloomreaper the Invincible will provide challenging endgame content, putting skills and builds to the test in an all new arena. Each Invincible boss has a massive health pool, lethal attack damage, and new modifiers, making them the hardest content to date."

I’m still on 3 having platinumed 2 and TPS this year. This seems like a sequel to the Mercenary Day map from 2, which is ridiculously good value in terms of the massive train cache you unlock full of loot after each run. I’ll get to this when it’s cheap and all DLC is included!
Did they ever patch and fix the memory leaks?
I’ll just wait for it to be added to ps plus in 2026
@redapt This was gonna be my post here before I read yours. "fix the freaking game first before you start releasing DLC/content or anything like that." So no, they have not fixed the leak yet and I searched all over and was told there hasn't even been a statement made as to when a fix is incoming.
It sucks because supposedly this game is great. Amazon has it for $20 off sale, but I'm not buying in advance hoping they fix it. I made that mistake with Oblivion remake. They still haven't got that game running the way it should either. Diff devs, but this is the day and age we live in with broken games
How can you not fix the memory leak giving frame rate issues.
Who do these developers think they are.
I mean if you purchased a kettle and it messed up boiling some how sometimes, you would be straight back down the shop for a refund and given 30 days to do so and even though you used it.
This industry is going rotten.
@RagnarLothbrok Love your avatar pic and username. I was late to the party with Vikings. Binged and completed it about a year and a half ago. Man what an epic journey that was. I still watch the clip on youtube from time to time, from the "what might have been" episode, where he is hallucinating on the water of his family on the beach, with that music. That was hands down one of the most moving scenes I've ever watched in a show ever. And I've seen them all, from Breaking bad, to Sopranos, to Sons of Anarchy.
@OldGamer999 100%. the game has been out for 2 months now and that should have been a priority for a hotfix or first week patch. The crazy part is and I pointed this out in my post, that there isn't even word yet on when to expect the leak to be fixed. Its such BS.
@redapt their full statement says that they couldn’t pump enough content into this update due to having their hands full fixing the performance, so they hope the fifth bounty pack will remedy that. They’re also adding takedowns next year (the raid style activities from 3 that they insisted wouldn’t return). They’re in damage control right now, just speak with your wallets by not purchasing the game. I had no doubt the devs are passionate people who went against deadlines but good grief, I’ve just started refusing to buy any games on UE5 until DF does a video. Expedition 33 and Arc Raiders are evidence it can be optimized well, big studios are just getting complacent.
Important to remember that Randy has been silent for once and Zelnick has implied that heads will roll if the game doesn’t get fixed. It’s not a good look.
@Coffeeglitch How did they release this game early and the DLC is just for the terrible state they released the game in.
Meh.. couldn't care less .. where winds meet is where it is
