This game looks great! The combat looks flashy and expressive (with depth and challenge obviously TBD). The world is intriguing aesthetically, with the big set pieces looking amzing so far, but I hope they also use the strangeness going on to come up with some fun puzzles as well (please be more complicated then the "send the knight summon over the water" bit in the trailer).
The voice acting is shrug and the armor is clearly prioritizing cool/horny, but both of those are minor complaints. We have been eating good with action games the last few years, and this looks like another promising contender!
I am honestly not sure if I'll tune into the Borderlands 4 State of Play, as I was sold on this game by the title alone and don't want too many more spoilers. I adore having friends over to play couch co-op shooters, and Borderlands barely edges out Halo as being my favorite in the space!
This game trailer hooked me so quickly, and I am rediculously excited to find out more! The action looks great, the modern/fantasy versions of London is intriguing, and I cannot wait to get to scale those colossal knight monsters!
A part of me is still worried that there will be further delay in this coming out, but whenever it does I am excited to play it! Coming out at the same time as Nightreign means that it might get put on the back burner for some time, but this game really does look like a great time!
I honestly was not expecting a prequel DLC, but I am so here for it! Lies of P almost ended up being my favorite game of a very excellent and crowded 2023 (Armored Core 6 took the crown for me), and I can hardly wait to get my hands on this DLC!
This game looks like a blast! It is great to have more games on PS5 that both play great with the nieces and nephews, and provide a whole lot of simple joy when I want to unwind.
I love seeing games like this pop up in gaming showcases. This looks like a delightful puzzle game to have a good time with over the course of a weekend or two!
I am definitely intrigued by this one. I usually prefer the slashy stabby end of the Action Adventure space, but there was enough in the two trailers that got me interested to find out more.
Overall I thought the show was great! Plenty of neat reveals or updates for games that I am really excited for, and some games that intrigued me enough to do some more research!
New Shinobi might be the standout; but it's got stiff competition from Lies of P Overture, Tides of Annihilation, Hell is Us, Borderlands 4, Sonic Racing, and Onimusha.
So much good stuff that I am definitely going to forget a game or two, I'll have to go wishlist or write things down now to not lose anything.
Ubisoft's standard releases aren't really my cup of tea, so this game was the first game of theirs I had bought since Rayman and Scott Pilgrim a decade ago. I'm sad that the lesson they are likely to take away is to not invest in smaller scale projects, because this was a game that made me so happy for the few weekends it took to beat the game originally and for the weekend I spent on the DLC.
I'm always hyped for another challenging action game! However I can definitely understand the fatigue other people feel towards the genre though.
For the people who are annoyed that [Insert your favorite genre here] isn't getting shown off instead, I honestly hope that you will get to play new games that fit you better soon!
With fighting games, souls-likes, and indies popping off, this is an amazing time in gaming for me. I'm having a blast, and I'm trying to not be bothered by the people who are grumpy, and instead wish that someday they will get to enjoy gaming as much as I am right now.
I'm happy for the one-handed gaming crowd, and more continuing support for games is always great to see, but I'll be waiting for more gameplay content to hop back into Stellar Blade. Because no matter what problems I may have with parts of this game, the combat is some of the best on the market!
I'm glad that they didn't bring Jin back for another game after what I thought was a good ending for the character, and that they moved forward in time to a different period to tell a new story!
Pretty decent little update to tide me over until The Game Awards! Ghost looks great, Hell is Us looks intriguing, Lunar Collection is super nostalgic for me, and there are some neat looking DLC and updates too!
While I am probably not going to be purchasing one of these, I would really love to see if the increased power can consistently brute force 60 fps through the poor optimization that some games have.
To be positive, a lot of the upgrades sound like they will make games even more gorgeous for those folks who play on 4K screens. They won't mean too much for me, as I play on a 240 hz HD monitor, but I can't wait to see some of the compatible games on my friends' big TVs!
This was a good spread of different boss encounters to show off, the combat looks fun and interesting, but not too taxing!
I'm really interested to hear what the people who get some hands on time at Gamescom have to say, as well as to see more of the gameplay loops in between boss encounters. I'm wondering whether this will be a "have fun faffing about" open world or a "speedrun to the combat encounters" open world.
I will definitely be picking this up on PC for another 2 or 3 playthroughs, the gameplay is amazing!
I can't wait to mod in some actual armor for Eve as well. I'm happy for the folks that love all the skin that her costumes show off, but looking cool and competent is more up my alley.
As much as I would love to get away from the live service model, spacing the DLC out like this makes a lot of sense. It keeps the casual audience popping back in, keeps the game fresh in the news, etc.
But they don't have to do anything special to get my money, I love fighting games and I'm gonna be playing everything new for at least some time.
Terry getting out of the cab like the Fatal Fury opening is so cool! I can't wait to play him, at least for a week or two before going back to my mains.
I'm content to toss this on a side monitor and see a neat update or two. Maybe Terry gameplay for Street Fighter, or a character announcement for City of the Wolves? I'm definitely excited to see what the new game by Tarsier is!
It is good to be reminded that the sports titles are always amongst the most widely purchased and played games each year. I hope that this year's set are fun for the crowd that like them!
I'm excited for DLC, a sequel, or both! An unrealistic wish would be 1 or 2 more costumes that prioritize looking cool or silly over being horny, but since that is probably out of the question, I can't wait to see what sick new bosses they cook up!
I really wish that there were more AA or AAA games in the Character Action space or the button masher space so I could point the long-suffering people who are tired of Souls-likes in their direction.
I'll keep having a good time though, lots of neat Souls-likes and "Souls-likes" on the horizon!
I'm so happy to see that FromSoft and Bandai had reasonable sales expectations for this game and are celebrating how well it's done! This game was a delight, and has me hopeful that FromSoft will deliver more 15-50 hour games alongside larger projects!
I always have room for another Souls-like on my calendar, and reading through wall of inevitable "this looks neat, but now I won't play it" comments across multiple websites is honestly kind of entertaining at this point.
They made a combat system that is super slick, stylish, and fun with Stellar Blade. The moment-to-moment gameplay was so well done that I was able to look past a story I found quite predictable and character designs I found very cringeworthy to have a great time. I am excited for whatever they make next!
Difficulty rarely puts me off from playing a game that I want to play. If I have decided to play something because I am interested in it, I'll see it through and rise to the challenge (however long that takes). The feeling of learning and improving is intoxicating, and the rush of conquering a challenge is unmatched for me (whether its solving a tough puzzle in Baba is You, defeating a Souls boss, or landing a new combo in fighting game).
I have a decent chunk less free time than I used to, but I have made room for the more difficult games that I love by being a lot more selective with the AAA headliners that tend to just be inoffensive 6s or 7s for me.
A few new AAA games unveiled that I am interested in, some updated trailers for dlc/games that I already have in my schedule, and a host of great indie/small-scale games that will probably be single-weekend charmers.
The rest of my gaming year has pretty much been filled up by things that look fun, and I can't reasonably ask for more than that!
Well, I am 100% the target for this type of game. No matter where it and all the others fall on the character action to souls-like continuum, I am a massive fan of combat that takes time to learn and good execution to pull off and I will be playing them all.
I do worry that there being so many of them will be a turn-off to the less serious fans of the genre that make up most of the sales though.
I don't usually touch the cozy games niche much, but I will be picking this one up. Whether the twist is simply dealing with past trauma or something much more strange, I am intrigued!
As long as the gameplay is as nutty as it looks to be and launches with rollback, my friends and I will be down to give this game a good try. The graphics are definitely not cutting edge, but all I need are stable connections and chances to laugh like idiots with my friends!
I really hope we get a public online beta for this game later this year, crossing my fingers for that to get announced at EVO. This game looks wild, and I am ready to add another fighter to the rotation!
I wouldn't have ever predicted this! I am intrigued to see how Capcom adapts the SNK characters. Only 4 characters again is a little bit disappointing, but I'm still excited for the next year!
I am very down for the larger companies to make weird titles! It is getting harder and harder for companies to justify games that aren't safe bets, so I want to try stuff like this out while I still can.
I'm happy for the people who like fan service, but some of these outfits being this revealing sure do make me uncomfortable to talk about or recommend this game to friends. I'm really hoping that amongst the 30 outfits is some solid full body sci-fi armor, but the default outfit seems fine enough if not.
Hi-Fi Rush is the biggest one for me. Followed by some of the other new IPs that Microsoft has released/announced in the recent generations: (Hellblade, Grounded, South of Midnight, Clockwork Revolution, Avowed, etc). I know Forza is great, I'm just an arcade/cart racer kinda person.
I'm not really a big fan of 3D fighters, but as a lover of fighting games, I'm really happy that people are liking Tekken 8 so far! I just want to see more people try this genre out, and I picked up this game just to play with some friends who only play Tekken.
Despite playing it all the way through, I had actually forgotten that Hogwarts Legacy was a game that came out last year. Some combination of me personally just thinking it was just okay (6-7/10), and the good handful of games that I personally loved that came out after it (Baldur's Gate 3, Lies of P, Armored Core 6, Tears of the Kingdom, Spider-Man 2, Jedi Survivor, and Street Fighter 6). It was not a year kind for games that I have no strong feelings about.
I'm excited about this game! I'll probably buy it at launch and stick it on the back burner until I get through the stacked early months of this year.
I'll make sure to temper my expectations, and not expect this game to be something that blows me away. Not every game needs to be a personal 10/10. If I have a good time for a chunk of hours, it'll be money well spent.
