As it should be. The game in itself should be incentive enough to buy it, why do we need the promise of further content to secure a purchase? Is it because of high expectations of gamers or the low trust of publishers in their own products?
@Cornaboyzzz I doubt it will be a free upgrade because it’s available on PS Now and Game Pass, probably a GOTY edition together with the new expansion.
@OMGitsLiamT Your reasoning is faulty because scalpers are (partially) responsible for the demand, by bulk purchasing of products, and scamming legitimate costumers by cutting the lines with bots and DDOS in online orders.
@UnlimitedSevens Another important thing would be to boost awareness for the problem and convince as many people as possible to not give in to purchasing from scalpers. Patience is virtue, everyone! Let the stock rot on them, so they bankrupt themselves... 😎
@UnlimitedSevens
I don’t think that Sony (or other console manufacturers) are unhappy with the current situation. Sure, bad publicity hurts their image, but they can easily distance themselves from it by blaming retailers. They have sold through all their consoles, and I don’t imagine there will be too many unused ones in scalpers hands for long, with missing digital game and service sales. Nintendo is even famous for using artificial scarcity to boost demand for it’s products in a similar matter, playing into the hands of scalpers.
While it would be nice to see this problem solved, I am more pessimistic about this outcome...
@UnlimitedSevens On principle I agree with everything you wrote. There needs to be regulation for such cases, but the implementation seems difficult for me. Where do you draw the line? Do you only allow for everybody to only order one piece of every product? Or 5? Where does it not potentially impact your basic rights of ownership? I think it should be the responsibility of retailers to provide safeguards against bulk purchases as well as against the use of bots and other shady methods. Sadly they are not motivated financially in doing so. A regulatory imposition to compel retailers for this may be a good solution.
@UnlimitedSevens Maybe I took your comment the wrong way, but blaming human nature on capitalism - which imo is still the relatively “fairest” economic system - is also not constructive.
@OMGitsLiamT
I don’t think anyone is questioning the legality of scalping, just the morality of it. While no one is forcing you to pay absurd prices for products you don’t “need”, still it stands to reason, that such tactics are ***** and prey on people with low self-control.
I can’t understand many of you blaming youtube for the low image quality. CDPR could have uploaded the video in 4K, but they didn’t. One would think you want to present your game in the possible light...
@Jimmer-jammer In my experience, people who often encounter non-sexual nudity (e.g. for work) can handle it professionally. On a societal level, I agree, we would be better off with less preconceptions and a healthy, body positive attitude towards nudity. Sure for someone with impulsive problems, such options can help, but if someone has such problems, games may also provide a safe opportunity to condition ones self control, so turning nudity on may be also advisable... let’s just hope gameplay is not too often interrupted for (self) pleasure 😉
@Jimmer-jammer It seems to me, that mostly puritanism led to the overlap of nudity and sexuality, where being (partially) nude may only happen in a sexual context, thus happening only in private.
@nessisonett Agreed. Sometimes I wish creators would treat us more like reasonable people and less like horny consumers playing with our base instincts.
@nessisonett I think nudity in itself is less of a problem in media nowadays than the oversexualisation of everything. Nudity is just biology, completely natural and should have also a place in games. But using it only for the arousal of horny people is very manipulative and shallow.
@carlos82 I agree with you, that this game is not meant for children, so the underage argument is moot. It’ll be interesting to see how they manage this in game. Worst case they leave all the oversexualised content, just only cover nipples and genitals with black bars...
Did notice the lack of a sales section in the ps5 store yesterday. One would think it is in the interest of Sony to promote sales, especially during a console launch, where people tend to overbuy games on impulse. But what do I know...
Is the article meaning loading times after matchmaking, or with it? A multiplayer map should not load for a minute, even on hdd. If so, that’s on the developer...
@Nalverus
I’m sure the sensitivity of the controls will be higher, but to take meaningful advantage of the higher framerates you’ll need precision controls ie. K+M or driving wheels. Analog stick controllers just ain’t gonna cut it. Never seen anyone in a CS:GO tournament using a controller.
All I’m saying is that this 120 fps on console seems like a gimmick / marketing ploy for me. Sure it’s nice to have options, but totally unnecessary to purchase a new tv because of it.
I don’t really see the appeal of 120 fps on console. Taking the input lag of tv’s and wireless controllers, as well as the turn speeds of analog controls into account, I doubt you’ll take advantage of anything above 60 Hz on console.
@thedevilsjester Although I too mostly dislike (bad) comedic elements in games, in my view IX did strike a good balance with sillyness and charm. The only negatives in it for me would be technical problems (slow battle speed) and bland overworld. My favourite FF characters (Vivi and Steiner) are from this game. It comes down to personal preference.
I played unfortunately too much of WoW to deter me of any mmo with classic quest design. Still I’m intrigued by the seemingly great story of XIV from Heavensward onward. That’s why I have high hopes for XVI with Naoki Yoshida at the helm.
@thedevilsjester Sorry, subconsciously replaced X-2 with XIII-2... my statement still stands though. IX for me has the most charm of any FF game, I have a lot of nostalgia for it and may be biased therefore. I did only play XIV shortly before heavensward. The dull mmo mission design eroded all my enjoyment of it, it’s too much of a time sink and won’t pay a subscription for it.
@thefourfoldroot The (more) mature tone of the story - while truly not being groundbreaking - together with the battle system and art style makes XII special for me. I hope the series returns someday to Ivalice. XIII had also a great battle system, but I could not enjoy the characters and story at all. All seems fine, as long as we have such diverse games to play with.
@thedevilsjester It’s interesting to see such different opinions. While I wouldn’t call any FF game generally bad, II and XIII would be the weakest in my mind. I agree with your take on XIII-2 but vehemently disagree with IX being anything else than a masterpiece. To each their own... 🤷♂️
@thefourfoldroot You may be entitled to your opinion, but calling FF XII the worst in the series is painful and wrong on multiple levels. XIII and II may want to have a word with you... 😉
People who demand the ps5 should be able to pull of 4k/60fps in such high quality games, have no clue at all what the hardware necessary would cost. Just look at the price of an rtx 2080s gpu (which can barely maintain 4k60fps) and forget your dreams of a 500-600$ ps5...

Noticed it playing Sekiro, but interestingly only during gameplay, during loading screens and menus it disappears.
