The current tradeoff is Wired with a Spec Box (PC or Console) to drive visual quality or Wireless with weaker visual quality. PSVR2 should take advantage of the PS5's power for a great experience. In addition, PSVR2 should benefit from a single hardware/OS development environment versus its competitors. I really think PSVR2 will end up taking off as soon as it gets either a big Open World RPG or something like Fortnite VR. One killer app and the improvements already made and I could see PSVR2 doing 20-25 million headsets by the time PS5 hits 100 million install base.
I don't need another optional streaming service. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max (all great values) as well as Hulu (Which I may drop soon). What I want from them is access to more games, be it more back compat or indies or just an expansion to the PS Plus Collection. If this is only part of the revamp then its fine but if this is the full answer than it feels too weak.
But if we don't run headlong into a patchwork quilt of "Playstation is Doomed" scenarios and attack Sony for losing "The Optics" how are we gonna stop Sony from repeating last years debacle of falling to MS by releasing a $600 console with no back compat, with no launch titles, that got delayed and lost Sony the whole gen like we all knew was gonna happen? /s
The Drought ends on April 23rd with Nier Replicant and then Returnal. From there I see nothing but a wealth of games until the end of June. So April 23rd is the official beginning of Next-Gen Year One for me.
@ShogunRok Technically both, Kuro = the color Black or it can suggest that something is Blackened (Dark). But when the translation is "in the dark" it is normally Kurayami = Darkness. Kiseki = Trails and the "no" can be various things but mostly operates as a connector. So you could call it Black Trails/Blackened Trails/Dark Trails/Trails of Black/Trails of Dark. There has not been a localized name so you just have to go with the translation that sounds appropriate.
I think the issue is entirely to do with fan expectations and nothing wrong with Sony's approach. EVERY State of Play so far have been small affairs that are basically necessary updates from time to time with maybe a little spice thrown in along the way. Sony doesn't need to change or go "all-in" on these. Fans need to understand that State of Play = small update.
Their "good guy of the gaming industry" reputation is gone. They scammed base console owners. What they can never get back is the idea that "CDPR would never scam people just to will help their bottom line." No one doubts that they can make a terrific game.
Tales of Arise, Dying Light 2, Trials of Mana Remake, P5 Royal, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2, Biomutant, Babylon's Fall, Ghost of Tsushima, Grand Blue Fantasy: Versus & Relink, Lost Soul Aside, Yakuza 7, Baldur's Gate 3, and Watch Dogs: Legion. Nah, I think 2020 is gonna be juuuust fine.
I wanted to see the graphics on my PC but after that it was a wrap. The game plays super bland. I don't like Destiny or the Division and I was hoping the Bioware magic would make this work but nope. At this point the only hope of getting a buy is if the reviews say that there is an amazing story hidden underneath the repetitive gameplay.
PS3 emulators aren't perfected yet and they most certainly don't run games on PC with a 1.8 TF graphic card or weaker. I have a GTX 1080ti (11.5 TF) and with the current version of PS3 emulator I still can't the games that can run to say at a steady framerate. Perhaps when it is perfected I will but the power difference is still massive. This is similar to how much power it finally took to run the PS2 emulator properly on X86. It is possible that the PS5 might be able to brute force it but it definitely ain't possible on the PS4.
Sony didn't provide BC for PS3 this gen because it would have required hardware emulation. Given that the cell processor is the most expensive part of the PS3, they decided it would be cost prohibitive, at least at launch. I suppose they could put one in today's model for a decent price though.
"Of course, we’ll have stellar announcements from third-party publishers and independent developers." -Shawn Layden, in the same announcement that said they would focus on four titles.
This game is so weird. People I trust are giving me statements like "This is absolutely a buy." vs. "Yeah, this game is trash." I truly don't know what to think about it.
I actually am expecting both Borderlands 3 (despite Pitchford's statement) and release dates for PS4 exclusives (just not most of the first party ones). We may see a Dreams release date as well as Concrete Genie. We may also see reveals for 3rd party exclusives that have release dates attached. Pretty please, Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link!!!
I continue to be confused about why the fact that Shawn mentioned 3rd party announcements equals nothing but indie games or multiplats. So many of PS4s best games and most speculated E3 2018 games are 3rd party exclusives. So far: Bloodborne, Persona 5, Ni No Kuni 2, Nioh, Nier, and the Yakuza games. The E3 speculation before this podcast was stuff like: DMC5 by Capcom, Bloodborne 2 by FromSoftware, and Bluepoint showing off its current project. Did I miss something? Do they stated 3rd party multiplats at some point? Why is everyone taking his statement to mean no new 3rd party exclusives?
I plan to buy all four but it looks like if I have to sacrifice and wait on one then it is definitely Tomb Raider and then Spyro. I'm basically gonna be playing DQ11 and Spiderman at the same time. I'll buy Spyro afterwards and if I have the time then Tomb Raider before RDR2. If not then Tomb Raider will wait until November. Of course all of this is based on a scant August (which is not gonna be the case). This is crazy, 2017-2018 is 1997-1998 again and I love it.

All I want is a PS1 gray with colored face buttons. However the situation gets that I can have that will leave me satisfied.

Re: PS Plus April 2020 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
At least give PS5 owners a different game, even if it is just a small indie or something.
Re: PS Plus April 2020 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
TRASH. Come on with Days Gone. That is just silly to include in PS Plus what people already have access to from having PS Plus.

Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?
I only ever replay RPGs because I can approach the game differently the next time I play it.
