But in good faith, for a reputable outlet and under my own name, what I’m really doing is reporting on the Warhorse director’s response to what are (my opinion) probably intentional lies, which have real financial consequences for the actual studio.

That’s considered different, if done well or at least professionally. There’s further nuance, too; you’ll note I’ve thoroughly sourced the story, without giving air to the accounts responsible for the rumour in the first place. The real story here is the dev’s response, considered newsworthy under Push Square’s purview haha. I appreciate the interest and curiosity! 🫡

AAA games cost $125 here in Australia; the sticker shock has already been lost in many countries. That said, today, $100 US is worth $160 in AUD; that is an undoubtedly a sobering number, haha

Rebirth is my personal GotY, but I had to play it over months along with Metaphor. I get this placement just on conciseness, and there were plenty of more respectful but just as epic releases. More importantly, these responses prove that the people yearn for modern Final Fantasy, which is good!
