Absolutely agree with Stephen for the most part (I don't think progression is very rewarding); I wanted this to be the XCOM killer and was really excited to dive in.

But the story is bland and about an inch deep, the gameplay is repetitive, there is little to do outside of combat, and there is little replay value. Before even getting into the technical issues, which I also encountered on PS5 Pro, this would have gotten a 6 from me

Completely surreal news, but I suppose it makes sense in this day and age. I’ve been all digital since the PS3 purely for convenience, but I understand how strongly physical collector’s feel. Just Sony saving a few more pennies I suppose, goodwill be damned; RIP in peace EB Games/GameStop! Oh and incredible timing, what with looming Xbox layoffs, this news will be quickly overshadowed

Disco is probably my favourite game of all time and Zero Parades is my current most anticipated. Don’t know if I have the strength to wait for it on PS5!

@DennisReynolds, the Musa of Mali stuff has been especially frustrating to watch. A wonderfully realised character relevant to the story, his presence is handled with respect and historical accuracy. Never ceases to amaze what people who haven't played a game will convince themselves of

But in good faith, for a reputable outlet and under my own name, what I’m really doing is reporting on the Warhorse director’s response to what are (my opinion) probably intentional lies, which have real financial consequences for the actual studio.

That’s considered different, if done well or at least professionally. There’s further nuance, too; you’ll note I’ve thoroughly sourced the story, without giving air to the accounts responsible for the rumour in the first place. The real story here is the dev’s response, considered newsworthy under Push Square’s purview haha. I appreciate the interest and curiosity! 🫡

AAA games cost $125 here in Australia; the sticker shock has already been lost in many countries. That said, today, $100 US is worth $160 in AUD; that is an undoubtedly a sobering number, haha
