For those speculating I would assume Halo will be announced at the Switch 2 Game Direct which is in April.

Obviously the poor launch state is rubbish so that will affect sales and reviews. But also the game has been out for over a year and, not sure what you have all seen, but I have seen a lot of negative opinions on it since. So this PC launch just isn’t as exciting as it would have been if it was a Day One. Up to Sony to decide what to do next.

It is funny seeing the polls show a lot of people want everything to remain exclusive to Playstation but don’t have the same energy with Xbox.

@GrimWillows it’s been delisted from Xbox and Steam so yea it’s unlikely. Same with 1-3 and the Fast and Furious one.

@GrimWillows the licenses have run out so I highly doubt that will get ported (you never know).

Forza Horizon is the best racing game outside of Mario Kart. I also highly recommend anyone who hasn’t, to pick up 4 Ultimate Edition on CDKeys since you won’t be getting that one on Playstation.

Crazy times. All those years of toxicity and trashing Xbox games is ending.

@DonkeyFantasy that is a fair comment but they also were trying to block Sony getting exclusivity for Starfield in the first place. Sony wanted to do the exact same thing; just like they did with Deathloop and Ghostwire. Also people seem to forget Spiderman used to be multiplatform too…

Back to the article; I really want all 3 console makers to succeed but I wanted them to succeed without taking away from eachother. They all do it to some extent but Nintendo definitely takes the least from the other two.

Say what you want about Xbox but they always managed to package a great single player campaign (which can also be co-op) with a great multiplayer like Gears and Halo (even Halo Wars). Like Call Of Duty does too to be fair.

Playstation was getting better at that (GoT, TLoU - not co op but you know) but then gave it up for… whatever this is.

@GamerDad66 yea exactly - Playstation has left the goal wide open but Xbox would rather help them score than score themselves.

@wildcat_kickz @nomither6 @juanalf I know financially and just in terms of time a lot of people can’t have more than one console. I’m not having a go at any one i’m just giving my thoughts which is I wish Xbox had done better. But I also do wish more people had chosen Xbox 🤷‍♂️.

Also yea 100% they will continue as at LEAST a games publishers ($80 billion says hello). But I think the everything is an Xbox campaign is to teach people that even when there isn’t an “Xbox” there are still “Xbox’s”. If that makes sense.

But yea expect fewer Xbox centric websites (PureXbox) plus potentially less dedicated hardware to buy in the future. I know more Xbox’s are coming but in what form.

But Quick Resume would still sell me on one to be honest, I just don’t want Xbox to know that.

I just wish people bought an Xbox if they wanted to play these games. I think the industry will be a lot less exciting if they do finally give the whole slate. Not talking about console wars - all the other good stuff.

Damn no wonder they are moving away from Playstation exclusivity.

@thefourfoldroot1 they don’t want people to buy this and not play online. Just check the achievement list if you’re interested. There are 700 achievements for it.

Also the MCC itself is one “game” where you can queue up a level from Halo 3 followed by a level from Halo 1 if you want to. So it could just be one platinum.

@PSDeckSwitchOwner last time Playstation tried locking publishers away from Xbox, Xbox just bought the publisher (Bethesda). Okay Square Enix was happening at the same time but no, Sony should stop with the locking away. Really unnecessary now given that Xbox is giving away all their games.

@TeiGekiLord it’s all good. It is tough as I can’t help what Xbox is doing to themselves. But as someone who has been fully in on Xbox since Jan 2006… it’s pretty rubbish to see them change the status quo in such a white flag way.

And I know the joke is that with Xbox it’s always “next year will be the one” but with their studios and output at the moment it would have been a great time to bring the competition to Sony.

It’s all video games at the end of the day and when you step back and look at it, we are genuinely lucky we have these 3 giants each pumping out games covering so much variety between them and giving other publishers a place to call home and stores to sell their games on. That’s why I want it to continue.

@lazarus11 the only timed I really can appreciate are when it’s a small dev who couldn’t handle a larger launch. E.g. what happened with Fall Guys and Rocket League.

But my personal opinion as of right now is that each console should have exclusives but only first party. No timed ***** and no permanent third party bs.

However thats because I like buying all three consoles and enjoying them and the tech etc. So I know that is not everyone's opinion.

@TeiGekiLord well it would be the Multiplatform strategy. I know it won’t happen. But yea they could backtrack if they wanted as they have said case by case or whatever. Really just such a waste of what could have been a great competition. But instead they will keep funding Playstation and its deals.

If this is actually really happening I really hope it spurs Xbox into doing at least something competitive. I don’t mean an acquisition. I just mean something that isn’t constantly funding Sony. Who knows.

Errr according to Wario64, Sony is in talks to acquire Kadokawa which owns 70% of FromSoft. Sony already owns 14%. Can’t see anyone reporting on this!

Not sure how people are selling their Xbox’s when quick resume is literally the goat feature (for a dad of 2 like me at least!).

Anyway I personally want them to stop the ports. It’s not about excluding people. It is great that more get to play. But I love having each of the consoles for the different games they have. It’s a first-world problem (as most gaming issues are) but still.

That said, I don’t care about ABK; they may as well keep that multiplatform and get the revenue. That would have been a great driver in itself in order to pay for the XGS and potentially Zenimax staying exclusive.

I really just think this is all going in the wrong direction and we will end up with Sony monopolising in the console space in a way that really harms the consumer.

I get that i’m in the minority especially on this website but I would say careful what you wish for.

Personally think it would have been great if more were supporting Xbox.

@Banjo- yea that’s my point. Not sure how it’s stuck on PS3 if I can play it on Series X 🤷‍♂️ I enjoyed it, played it on Series X during lockdown I think.

Sonic Generations wasn’t on PS4 sure but it also wasn’t stuck on PS3…

@IntrepidWombat yea I liked Tsushima but it was very repetitive. The new one probably isn’t day 1 for me but i’m sure I will be happy to check it out at some point. Get the feeling it’s a smaller game though. Not sure why.

@Dalamar Yea I remember when I was living at home and ordered something from CEX online and my mum questioned what was in the box as the logo was plastered all over it. It was a gentle questioning but not something she would ever do. Bit awkward lol! I quickly reassured her it’s just Manhunt, GTA and Saw, nothing to worry about.

Maybe if Geoff Keighley keeps posting about it it will get beaten into people’s heads.

Lots of people saying “of course they will be silent” or “put yourself in the devs shoes”… lots of empathy which is nice but nowhere to be seen when Redfall released. Funny that.

Anyway yea the devs were pretty toxic in the replies I have seen on twitter. Think it’s just a disaster all round unfortunately.

@WhiteRabbit you’re right about the promotion. But if this did happen then it’s a late in the day deal. The game was announced to come to Xbox day one originally. But hey I don’t know! I just think it’s funny which rumours we choose to believe.

And Xbox has not been upfront about its porting. “No red tape” or whatever they said means anything but it doesn’t mean everything. They only spoke up about those 4 games because the internet was on fire with rumours and speculation (and lies).

Whenever there is a rumour about Xbox and things like Gears or Halo going multiplat, everyone believes it… but not this? I wonder why.

Since they are so set on charging for it; I still don’t understand how this isn’t a day one PS+ title. Like I get Sony doesn’t “do” day one… but this is an obvious candidate. Ah well rip.

Samurai Warriors 2 on Xbox 360 for me!

I got one. I don’t think it’s the best looking controller - like they could have done more. But the eyes are cool so! Otherwise I just have the Ragnarok controller and normal white.

I also got the new Xbox Sky Cipher see through one. 😍
