Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 93

I'm also playing in the barren, arid lands after a nuclear winter. But I'm not playing Fallout 4 - I'm playing Wasteland 2. I'm about halfway through (just recently got out of Arizona & into California) & think it's the best game I've played this year (& I played Witcher 3, but haven't played Divinity: Original Sin that's waiting for me to finish W2). I don't have any more money to buy F4, but that's ok - the full edition (with all DLC) won't be out for a year or so anyway.

@PorllM There are separate line items in the systems settings - you can turn on/off automatic updates and/or feature content. So you can rid yourself of Destiny or any game that's "recommended", but still retain auto download (even in rest mode) of updates.

The Witcher 3 makes me feel bad for you reviewers. You have to hustle to finish the game in order to post a timely review. I get to luxuriate in its world (spend most of my time doing side objectives - not just the auxiliary quests, but checking out the "?"s dotting the map & blank areas to see what's there). I'll be playing for a long time to come & enjoying every minute of it!!!

Escort missions are the pits, but even worse (to me) is the auto-save only game. These can paint you into a corner. For example, I was playing LotR: War in the North, & there's a section called the Siege of Nordinbad. It's divided into two parts (it automatically saves after the first part) - it's goal is to defend the entryway (which gets its own healthbar). I didn't do the first part well, the entryway had very little health left & was then unable to complete the second part. However, unless I wanted to start the entire game over (this section is more than 75% of the way through the game), there was no way to retry the level!!! I dropkicked the game into next week! Just let me save where/when I want or at least give me save points when I can save multiple times. One & done saves are the worst.

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition's Success Doesn't Guarantee a Sequel

DA2 should get more love. It was the first game I played in the series. I enjoyed it so much that I then bought Origins. More recently put 195 hours into Inquisition (!). Still, I like 2 the best so far - maybe because it's the only one of the 3 that let me complete my romance with my person of choice (was rejected by my picks in the other 2).
