If there is no PS5 Pro on the way then I worry about frame rates this gen. The situation is already looking bleak. Studios are either too ambitious or too incompetent.

I know that live service games tend to make a lot more money than SP games, but the fact that this one failed makes endlessly frustrated. We could have had another Deus Ex game.

@Art_Vandelay Quest Pro costs as much because companies will buy it in mass numbers. It's not reasonably priced. I am sure that Sony are making a profit from each PSVR2 sold.

@thedevilsjester sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the creator of the PC driver for the PSVR just recently explained on reddit why PSVR2 will not be usable on PC for years.

If they really cared about their employees they would have included a cable in the box smh

Chances are they are making money with each sale.

@thefourfoldroot1 WIth a PC you get access to infinite amount of content. And you get user created content. And on PC you can run things better. And on PC you don't have to buy anything twice.

If you have a good PC buying anything else is pointless.

@thefourfoldroot1 Who would buy a console and headset specifically made for that console and games specifically made for that headset if they already have a PC? The biggest attraction of console gaming is the cheap price and that goes out the window when it comes to VR.

Sony would have made more money if this headset was compatible with PC.

@solocapers Actually that's not true. The original didn't work well on PC and the creator of that driver just recently said that PSVR2 will be even worse. Might take years just to get a working picture.

if People had to choose between a mid range OLED headset like the PSVR2 for 500 and 1k+ for the real high end stuff they would have definitely bought the former. Missed opportunity.

So they want us to buy a console that can only play a very limited number of games in the grand scheme of things, a VR headset that costs just as much that can only play an even more limited number of games in the grand scheme of things and they will want us to buy games as well?

@sanderson72 2k-1440p. No idea how that happened, but as long as no one calls it something else I ain't complaining.

@NeThZOR Raw 4k is stupid and there are 0 benefits from targeting that resolution. DLSS is so good that actually boosts detail like text even tough it makes games easier to run. The future is not raw power but upscaling tech, ray tracing, frame generation and hopefully physx.

@BrettAwesome The naming convention is misleading, but as long as studios don't lie you won't be confused. 2k is much better than 1080p.

As much as I want to complain that they are simply using an old formula instead of innovating I WOULD LOVE IT if a big studio like Ubisoft has a successful game that is not filled with bloat, obnoxious UI and childish writing.

I am honestly rooting for them one last time. Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed 2 are still some of the best games ever made.

The sooner PS5 games are streamable on phones the faster Sony will start printing even more money.

@Toypop I don't find anything weird with people buying powerful PCs because that thing can do and play literally everything and will last you far longer than a console, but people who buy a console because of the cheap price and then proceed to splurge by buying 10 controllers, charging docks, face plates, extra storage etc baffle the heck out of me.

Kinda weird that they went in this direction. Dead Space has never been an iconic franchise at least in my eyes. You just walk forward and shoot aliens in their legs or arms.

@carlos82 The new AC game will follow the same formula as Unity and Syndicate. There hasn't been a game worth copying since the Witcher 3 so don't expect anything truly new from Ubisoft or Guerilla.

OOF. That's a lot of money. That headset better be good to go on PC as well. Even if you don't have a beefy GPU you should be able to consume video and porn like everyone else for that price tag.
