Sony has revealed the top downloaded PS5 and PS4 games from PS Store for the entirety of 2022. We won't lie to you — the resulting charts are about as predictable as you'd expect, with most of the year's heavy hitters showing up near the top. Let's have a look anyway, yeah?

So, the most downloaded PS5 games of 2022 were Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in North America, and FIFA 23 in Europe. Surprise! If you're wondering where God of War Ragnarok ranks, never fear; the game comes second and third on PS5's NA and EU charts respectively. Also vying for position in the PS5 top 10 are Elden Ring (fourth in both regions), Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, and Grand Theft Auto V.

On PS4, things are roughly the same, although Sony exclusives are much further down the charts. Below Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23 in number one is, yes, GTA 5, with other popular titles like Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2 charting above more recent games. It suggests that, even though many of Sony's first-party games are cross-gen, most are picking them up on PS5.

As for the most downloaded PSVR games of 2022, it's again not much for surprises. Beat Saber, Job Simulator, and SUPERHOT VR are the top three in both regions. Free-to-play titles on PS5 and PS4 have a joint leader in Fall Guys, with the likes of Fortnite, Warzone 2.0, MultiVersus, and Overwatch 2 in the mix.
