Re: Hands On: PS Portal Is a Whole New Device with Cloud Streaming Update

IceClimbersMain

Not every PS5 game is supported, just the ones that support cloud streaming (tbf most games do but it's worth noting).

I've had my portal for about a year now, I picked up the 30th Anniversary model alongside my gray PS5 Pro, and it's nice but these recent updates don't do much for me as someone with a physical game library. The most this update did for me was add 3d audio support.

Re: Stellar Blade Tease Appears to Hint at New Horror DLC

The comments from the silent hill guys about F not being a soulslike would be pretty funny if it got a collab with a soulslike the day it releases.

I do wonder if this even is silent hill, they already released the whole "complete edition" with all the dlc, and so far all the licensed updates have been paid. Maybe an IP-free halloween update? Maybe a free silent hill dlc?? Maybe they just say screw it and add more paid dlc??? Not complaining either way.

Re: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (PS5) - A Fiery Return That REVs in the Right Places

IceClimbersMain

Maybe it's just me but none of those cons really turn me away from the game.

If this game is "low budget" then 90% of the fighting games I've played must be made from scraps (which they are lol). Fighting games will always be plagued by bad menus and weird guest characters, and nobody really buys fighting games for the single player (maybe Tekken excluded).

When it comes to the actual competitive gameplay, just from the in-person tournament I played during the beta, it's a 10/10. It's got good footsies, there's no fear of Drive Impact unless your opponent is on that specific third of health, there's air parrying, special into special canceling, it's super fun and I'm looking forward to picking it up soon.

Re: PS6 Could Be the Only High-End Next-Gen Console, As New Xbox Touted to Be a 'PC in Essence'

IceClimbersMain

I've been saying this for a while; that the next gen consoles are going to be optimized PCs.

Because really, that's still what they are now, except they are very limited on what you can actually do with them PC-wise.

I think the only way Xbox can make a major comeback is if their new console either is more powerful than the PS6, or if it can install Steam.

I see the Steam Deck as a console, no different from the Switch but it is ALSO a pc. I believe the next xbox will follow suit, and perhaps feature other things like individually upgradable graphics cards.

Re: Don't Sleep on Promising PS5 Dark Fantasy Hell Is Us

The only problem with games that don't have big compass objective HUDs is that whenever I take a break for a month or so, maybe longer, I've got no idea what I'm doing when I get back.

As long as there's some sort of recall system or heck even in-game notetaking, I'd be fine. But when I boot up FF2 Pixel Remaster after 6 months and have to google an entire playthrough just to figure out where I'm supposed to go, it can get annoying.

Re: PS Portal Keeps on Defying Odds, UK Makes It a Best-Seller

@Andy22385 By on the go, I mean going to places without internet, or good internet at that. Whether it be a car ride, an airplane flight, or an international country. My portal would be completely useless at 90% of places outside of my home because my phone hotspot just isn't enough for a playable connection (or at the very least, there's no reason to suffer with input lag and hotspots when I can just bring my Steam Deck oled instead).

Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

IceClimbersMain

I think the PC adapter made it far more worth it than the price drop.

Now instead of having a bunch of cool features but locked to a system with very little vr games and customization, NOW you've got a great PCVR headset with oled screens, then you add all the extra great features if you wanna play on PS5.

Re: PS5 Favourite Stellar Blade Plays Dress Up with NIKKE DLC, Coming to PC in June

@James_42 I was also thinking of that Alien-but-not-Alien game, yeah there might have been some in-game cinematics but I couldn't really tell what was going on.

Yeah there were a couple of PSVR2 titles but just like you I wasn't immediately hooked by the trailer itself, the game has to interest me without saying it's for PSVR2. I'm not gonna go from 'eh I don't care about this' to 'wow VR? I gotta play it.' Like I remember when Synapse was announced, I was hyped for that trailer.

Re: PS5 Favourite Stellar Blade Plays Dress Up with NIKKE DLC, Coming to PC in June

@James_42 I'm probably in the minority on a Playstation forum, but I don't care for the shooters or the big "wow look at how realistic this guy's face is, here's no gameplay and it launches in 2026." I mean, don't get me wrong, the Naughty Dog Intergalactic Heretic whatever game from the Game Awards caught my interest but none of these other games really hit for me.

My personal, realistic hopes for this State of Play was Astro Bot dlc, Stellar Blade updates, a new look at the new Fatal Fury game, some kind of Square Enix JRPG (wasn't expecting KH4 but DQ12 has been announced for years), and something cool for VR2. That isn't to say that I'm disappointed, my wishlist is small so even though this was all that got announced I'm very much looking forward to it.

Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for February 2025 Announced

IceClimbersMain

@Titntin I'm pretty picky when it comes to the games I play, just because of how little free time I have. I don't really ever look at a game and go "I haven't bought this yet but now that it's free I'll play it" because if I wanted to play it, I'd have bought it already. That's why I prefer Xbox's more curated quality game list vs the quantity of Playstation. I just prefer the PS5 as a console, and I've got a Steam Deck oled so I buy my PC games on Steam.

But even just glancing at Game Pass' current lineup, there are so many new games on there that I've poured hours into on Steam. They got the new Ninja Gaiden 2 remake day one, Metal Slug Tactics day one, Persona 3 Reload day one (with DLC, which PS Plus never does), Octopath Traveler II, the new Doom coming up, and most of the Yakuza games instead of just two spinoffs. It's definitely a personal preference but these are all my type of games.

Maybe that's the downside to having a massive backlog but the only game I've actually beaten on PS Plus Premium was FF7 Remake Intergrade, FF7 Crisis Core would be on there too but I bought that game at launch 😅

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for February 2025 Announced

IceClimbersMain

I like how they seemed to really push games coming to PS Plus day 1 aka "the catalogue" but dang they really should've used some more interesting games.

Like Game Pass not only has Xbox games day one but also Persona games and other big third-party titles, wish I could use the good subscription service of Xbox on the good hardware of the PS5 Pro.
