I have already come to terms with not getting a PS6 through lack of support for physical gaming. So Sony can double and triple down all they want.

You've got to hand it to Sony, they have done an amazing job in directing our attention away from their war on discs.

All the comments saying that no one will leave PS. Just because you don't have the principles to stand by what you say, it doesn't mean that the rest of us don't. I have enough games from past consoles, games that I OWN and can sell on if I so wished, I don't need a PS6. PS2 alone, I have more games than any other platform.

All the people, saying they are so tired of this discussion, no one forced you to click on the article. Plus, this discussion doesn't affect you. You will still get your games digital!

They won't back down, and I won't be buying a PS6. shrugs I'll put the money towards getting my hands (literally) on the hard to find PS2 games that I have been searching for.

I've already cancelled mine. I only used it for cloud saves. Not being able to transfer PS5 save data to a external harddrive (in order to drive more players to PSN), really left a bitter taste.

I wasn't expecting them to acknowledge the backlash. I have already cancelled my PSN subscription and won't be buying a PS6. I'll pivot to retro gaming.

Could CEX get by on what will become retro games?

How, if at all, will this affect the price of past generation games? Some PS2 titles already go for eye watering prices, regardless of how good the game is.

I can't believe how people have such short memories. Sony just removed movies that gamers have paid for, from their consoles. But sure, let's make snarky comments about people not wanting a digital only future.

Well, at least I had a good run. Master System II to Playstation 5, and plenty in between. This takes a tough decision out of my hands. Thank you Sony.

This is one XBox exclusive that I really want to see make it's way over to PlayStation. I played a ton of SOD2, while I had an XBox One.

It worked out for the best. Patrick Gibson is so so good, I hope this isn't the last we see of his Bond.

Congratulations to IOI, First Light is a fantastic game, and my new favourite Bond game.

For me, it is the GOTY.

I really hope that Amazon remains hands off going forward, at least until IOI is done with the licence.

I'm glad to see it met with such success. The 14 year wait was worth it. I had a blast with it, and First Light has now replaced EON as my gold standard for Bond games.

So it sounds like we will be getting a 2nd Bond game for ioi. The 14 year wait for a new Bond game was worth it.

'Driving feels iffy.' Is that based on just driving the DBS? The driving in Bloodstone was excellent, but the DB5 handled like you'd expect a car of its age to handle.

QOS was better on PS2, than the next gen port,. On PS3/360 it was more COD than Bond. Everything Or Nothing was peak Bond game. Blurring the line between film and game like no other game before or since.

St John Smythe. Another Bond film reference. This is looking SO good, I can't wait. Regardless of the reviews, this is a day one purchase.

Long time Bond fan, Dalton is my #1, and I really like what I have seen so far of Bond in First Light.

The 14 year wait is nearly over.

I'll be playing on a base PS5, and I can wait for this. 14 years since the last Bond game, ignoring the two mobile games, I am so ready for this. I'm confident that, at the least, it is going to be amongst the best Bond games.

I haven't played the recent games, and i'm not sure about this. I would have been interested in a YaKuze game.

It's ridiculous to even consider paying this much for a standard edition of a game. Unfortunately, hardcore GTA fans (of which I am not one) will pay it, to avoid FOMO.

Long time Bond fan. Haven't been this excited for a Bond game since 2004. I can't wait.

To say this is a shame, it would be an understatement. As janky as their games might have been, I enjoyed them.

I must be in the minority as I don't have any interest in GTA. 007 First Light is my most anticipated game of 2026, followed by Tomb Raider (unless it gets delayed).

As for all the GTA addicts, talking about contrarians, not everyone is frothing at the mouth for a new GTA.

Not with the price hike it wont. All in all, I think this generation has been a bit underwhelming so far. And it doesn't feel like it has hit its stride yet (what with everything that has happened externally, it feels ridiculously early to even consider the PS6).

@kyleforrester87 I'm not sure about Free Market, but rather than petition, just don't buy any forced online games. Not buying their games, is the only response a developer will understand.

As this hasn't worked, a more direct approach is needed. DON'T buy the game(s) to begin. It's the only way this will change.

Looks like I will be sticking with the original on my PS3.

You should have gone with Q'ute, (a substitute for Q in the John Gardner Bond books).

I only just discovered this series about a fortnight ago. I downloaded the demo of Atelier Yumia, and I didn't even finish the demo, before I ordered a copy of the full game.

They must be mad, expecting people to pay £60 for a 7 year old game. Especially when a pre owned copy can be got for a fraction of the price.

£80 for a game is enough of an incentive to wait for a sale.

I was interested, but the lack of a physical release is a deal breaker. No thanks.

And this is why you should always keep a PS2 (and a well stocked game collection) handy.

I will keep buying physical until the bitter end.

Probably spread by the same people who tried to petition the first game.
