FlexStrike, PlayStation's official fight stick peripheral, has been delayed indefinitely.
In an update to a PS Blog post on the upcoming hardware, Sony confirms the fight stick will no longer launch on 6th August, 2026 — crucially, the same day as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
"Due to unexpected production delays, FlexStrike wireless fight stick will launch at a later date," the blog post now reads. "We will share an update soon."
There is no new date for the release of FlexStrike, so we'll just have to wait and see how much further down the line the controller takes to make its arrival.
Sony explains more about the delay:
"We’re working to ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our players with FlexStrike, so we’re taking extra time to put the finishing touches on the product. We apologize for this delay and look forward to bringing the FlexStrike experience to the community when it launches."
It sounds like those who have pre-ordered a FlexStrike will still get one, and will receive updates on when exactly the product will ship via their chosen retailer.
It's a shame the peripheral isn't making it out in time for the release of Marvel Tokon, but hopefully it'll be worth the extended wait when it launches at some point in the future.

It’s no longer going to be a physical product
Oh, I was actually looking forward to having a whirl with this. Ah well, hopefully it shall be here at some point relatively soon.
It’s too physical for an all digital world. 🤭
Sony has to re-tool the stick and make it all-digital 🤣 🤣 🤡 🌎
I have this preordered, so I certainly won’t mind having to pay later
@Robinsad It'll be like that old Thinkgeek item that would laser project a keyboard onto a table and you'd tap the table where the keys would be. I remember it looking like a cool novelty item but the reviews said it wasn't very good lol.
Wild, you rarely see something like this happen. Wonder what the issue is!
They're going to make it to where there will be a code in a box that you can only use once to register the controller to your PS5. That way you won't be able to sell it or lend it to your physical friends
I'm dead interested in trying this once its out. I have the nacom stick, so I'm unlikely to shell out for another, but I do like the design of this...
That's a shame. I have both ordered together and I've been excited for the launch of Tokon.
It doesn't sound like a disaster at least. I can wait.
Not surprising. I guess they will be releasing it digitally too.
I’m sure Sony will be able to provide a digital version at the same price.
Worlds first Digital Only Fight Stick!!!
While this one seems nice and have the advantage of being wireless using PS Link the fact that is not feasible to swap part is a dealbreaker.
I would recommend the Nacon Daija or the Hori Alpha instead, they are almost the same price.
Probably has to do with the EU demanding all electronics have replaceable batteries. The PS Portal and Dual sense controllers all need redesigns soon.
If Nintendo can provide exact specifications of the new versions and set out a timescale months in advance, then the wealthier Sony with less to redesign certainly can.
But they won't because transparency is rare.
Also I expect the fight stick to get a price increase.
Well that's unfortunate considering it was supposed to be launching alongside Tokon.
Someone misread the memo as "ramp up production on Blu Rays and shut down the FlexStrike factory".
@Robinsad now a phone app.
Sony should cancel that fight stck controller. We don't want that about that physical ps6 disc .Word up son
Thats wierd considering they just announced it surely the would have know they wouldnt be able to deliver it then.
Olivia newton John ask Sony to let's get physical.but Sony say we going digital instead come on son😀😃🤣😂.Word up son
