Re: One of PS5's Most Promising Action RPGs Is Getting a Playable Demo in January

I just don't think I can stomach any more JRPG storylines. After Xenoblade 3 and a bunch of Falcom games, I think I'm done for life. JRPGs have the absolute worst stories, characters and dialogue, I just can't any more. Just looking at the trailer I'm having flashbacks from over 25yrs of these, I can already tell you the plot, incoherent storyline and the same cookie cutter characters just from the trailer. I'm so done with these.

@SgtTruth Yep. I use to be a PC gamer in the late 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. Upgrading every 8 months. It was a fun hobby for a kid. But it’s so nice now being able to buy one machine and still be blown away by graphics years later. I recently started playing Hogwarts in Fidelity mode and it’s absolutely amazing looking. But yeah, it’s annoying PC gamers make out like a low end PC is equivalent.

Re: Where to Pre-Order PlayStation Portal

@MasterPlayerOne I have a iPhone 13 mini (love it) but the screen is too small for games, so a Backbone won't suit me (and others) and they're $180AUD anyway. I actually found the OLED switch screen too small for some games. Plus, I want to be able to still use my phone while gaming (apps, streaming podcasts while I play, txt, socials, looking at game guides, calls etc) so using my phone, even if it was lager, wouldn't suit. As a working adult, $199USD isn't anything to get upset about, for me. Less than half the price of the cheapest iPad here in Aus.

@Titntin lol. The dudes angry because his tablet can watch Netflix and display an ebook and he's comparing it to a handheld gaming device. Don't tell him about smart phones or kindles, he'll lose his mind.

@Constable_What I have my PS5 wired into my router and upgraded it to a WiFi6 router, I tested Remote play on my MacBook Pro a few days ago and it worked great. Every other time I've tried in the past, there's be a noticeable lag. But this time I didn't notice it (it'll be there, but must be in the very low ms range). Not sure where "it really does suck" comes from?

I only ever played my Switch in handheld mode, and at home, so this'll be great for me. I find some games player better on a handheld. Something like FF16 (amazing game) is fantastic on the big OLED. But something like the new Harvest Moon game, playing rugged up in bed on a cold night playing on hand held is perfect. The Switch is so underpowered, and the screen so small, there's very few games that play well (IMHO). A handheld with PS5 graphics is gonna be pretty cool. Just a shame it's not releasing in Australia!!

That’s a good point about the Russian citizens, I hadn’t considered that. It is unfair for them, they don’t really seem to have any say in what is decided for them, even though they’re a democracy, Putin and his oligarchy have been running the place for 20+ years now.

Yep, I’d hate to have the same thing happen to us.

And yeah, good chat! Glad we bumped into each other! Have a fantastic day!

@Loamy Hi! Only COD I’ve played is the recent one & Vanguard (and the beta of black ops 2 I think it was). I wasn’t concerned so much with propaganda, just $$ flowing into Russia via video games when they’re being sanctioned for their war crimes. Out of Iraq and Afghan, Afghan did have a legitimate reason (training camps and bin larden). The Iraq war was a lie (they didn’t have weapons of mass destruction) but at the end of the day, getting rid of Saddam was a good thing. Neither are anything like what they’re doing in Ukraine. Anyway, let’s not political! It was just my 2c.

It was okay, I wanted to like it more, but got bored after finishing the first building, the open world spams you with respawning monsters so that drew tiresome quick. The plot was obvious from the start and the dialogue was wonky. The art style was nice. And yeah, I felt a bit dirty playing a Russian made game while the country is blowing up schools and hospitals. Not to get political, but they are doing those things so it’s hard to separate that reality.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 460

Replayed the Forspoken demo and totally blown away. I took the time to read and figure out the magic mechanic and it’s so good. It’s so fluid! I had to force myself to stop playing and as I don’t want to spoil anything or get burnt out clearing things in the demo before the game comes out. 180 from the last demo. Can’t wait! Some of the banter is actually hilarious as well.

So at the moment switching between the new Fire Emblem and my first devil my cry game (ps5 vs of #5) really good combat but Forspoken definitely an upgrade in fluidity and more satisfying. I can not freaking wait for Forspoken!

Re: Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey 'Blown Away' by PSVR2

I was keen. But honestly, none of the games look worth it. For the price, I’m going to need to see a list of good games (and not just mini games or one trick games). I heard the VR Half Life game is good, but I’m not dropping the cash they’re asking for, for 1 or 2 games.

And again, honestly, hearing Palmer liking (and seemed to get special access to it), kinda puts me off it even more.
