@adf86 Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It has huge potential in these areas. And if you could get it to the correct dimensions and scale, you could use it for engineering design via a 3D printer. You could use it to show off designs in general.
Wouldn't it be cool if they implemented realistic wind parameters/filters and you could test the airflow of X product design.
They have said about the possibility to export to Unity and some of the early chatter they also said about have a store. Not sure if they meant a store to sell or just a browsing system (not sure where I heard or read it).
What would be cool too, is if they had a school login system. Where a school could setup, say 20 PS4s and have the students login with a unique ID and password, which the school can setup and administrate. Then also having the ability to transfer their creations to their own PlayStation accounts.
@ShogunRok "Votes for these matches close this Friday, on the 1st June."
This Friday is the 25th, but you could have had four polls to keep it to schedule and closed them on the 1st of June. Unless I've been asleep for a week! Enjoy your holiday too (holiday mode initiated)!
Anyway, this is fun and it looks like a tight race between Ellie and Crash. It seems that Nathan has managed to tuck his shirt in nicely this round.
Seems like maybe they shouldn't have told anyone this. The game may be judged by some before it's been given a chance. If this was an Uncharted game I'd probably be concerned, but this seems different.
A member of the team was quoted saying something along the line of "the game play will be different to that of a lot of other games." So you may have a horde of Zombies here and a group of bandits there and having no easy mode may force you to turn it into a puzzle: How could I use these different groups/landscape/objects/buildings to my advantage? That's the vibe I'm getting from the media they've shown and other content. It sounds like they have tried an easy mode (based on the quoted text in this article) and it might not have been fun. How fun would Portal be on easy?
Anyway, I guess reviews and word of mouth when it's released will be the answer to the question. I'd hate for them to tack on an easy mode and have people say it's rubbish.
Thought I'd just add that I'm pretty sure someone said something like: The choices you make will affect your game and outcome.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Sony did some sort of deal with the movies and I believe that they no longer have to make a movie every 7 years to keep the movie rights and possibly don't have to pay the royalties (I remember reading this somewhere, not sure where). The first deal was made with Hasbro for the sale of the merchandise for The Amazing Spider-Man (first movie). The second deal was with Disney for the outright sale of the merchandise for Spider-Man and the third deal was in regards to Marvel producing the main Spider-man movies and using Spider-man in their own movies. Sony paid Marvel to make them and the money from the box office goes to Sony and partners. It's possible that one or more of these deals included the game rights to a standard Spider-man game series. Disney doesn't like making games anymore and Sony may have negotiated a similar deal to the movies. Disney really wanted the merchandising rights I believe and Spider-Man in their movies, so handing the game rights over may have been easy.
Speculation, but the game does seem to be timed perfectly for that to be possible.
Talking about rights too, apparently Marvel sold the movie rights to Sony (back in the 90s) for $10 million and asked if they wanted to buy the entire catalogue of movie rights for $25 million. To think, they probably could have offered Marvel $50 million to buy the company outright and we would probably have a completely different set of Marvel movies. Still, Sony is probably kicking themselves for that one.
The higher initial price for games on the PlayStation Store, could also be in part due to the fact that they still need physical stores to sell the consoles. If physical stores are selling less games due to better digital prices, they may stop selling the consoles and console makers don't want that.
This is all just food for thought and may not accurate. Feel free to take this with a pinch of salt
@Splints It really is a shame, because there are some really great games, movies and other media that people haven't tried, which they may like, but haven't had a go due to not knowing, misrepresentation or others conflicting tastes. Some entertainment content maybe rated lower as well, because of people that haven't actually consumed it, but are going off what they know or like in regards to it. These polls are very much like that, because if you had a tournament with just people that had played every single game here, it would probably have a very low poll count.
I know what you mean, I feel the same about Gravity Rush.
If the percentages don't change too much, then the next level will be Kat vs 2B.
Then with a bit of luck, she'll advance to the next level again, somehow beat Sully, then manage to Gravity Kick Nate and go for the crown! (I can dream, can't I?).
@SirRealDeal From what I've seen, I think it's unclear whether or not the VR update is for creating in or creating for (potentially both). I'm not sure that I've heard them actually say that you'll be able to create VR content, just that VR will be more of a "Day 2" update. Maybe they have, but it would be nice for them to clarify. They'd have to build systems to make sure the experience was rock solid and provide an assistance system, so that people don't create vomit simulators.
I personally think this game (creator/library) could be the biggest thing ever. Things like Minecraft (specifically Minecraft) have sold huge numbers and Dreams creation mode is much more capable (from what I understand). The ability to create games, levels, music, movies, videos in general, art pieces, 3D printer files, et cetera and to be able to collaborate on projects or join multiple levels together via their autosurf system sounds amazing. I think the Beta will show people what can be created and these projects will likely be available when the game launches. Lots of creative people that would never get into programming, have the chance to try their hands at game creation with this.
You just have to get one or two groups of people to create a project that is so large in comparison to indie games or possibly larger and the price tag could be worth it just for that. Not sure how many levels (or doors) you can link together, but there is the potential of possibly making large games.
But you don't have to be a creator to enjoy the game (creator/library), you can enjoy what others have created. I could be wrong, but the potential just seems too good to not be successful.
Now imagine if you could play Uncharted as Sully and do whatever was happening to him while Nate was off gallivanting. "He left me here and I wasn't dead. I got captured (Sully sad face)."
@get2sammyb Yeah, at the end of the day the cover doesn't really matter, but if they do end up going with the above image, hopefully they make it reversible.
And for the icon on the PlayStation, hopefully they don't go with that image. It would actually be nice if in the options for each game on the live area, you could change the icon. Could come bundled with different images.
@get2sammyb I would prefer Kara on the cover and more than just a third of a face. There's a fan cover out there which isn't bad. No need to crowd the cover, just one character and enough space that you don't have to put the title on their face.
I wonder what platforms they will make them for? After Scalebound you kind of think that their new games will be just be for PlayStation and Nintendo (console-wise anyway).
Awesome, happy that Gravity Rush 2 made it on the list. I've often thought it would have been nice if Sony had made a full anime series, just so Gravity Rush could get more love. They made the Persona 4 and Final Fantasy XV animes through their A1 Pictures, so why not Gravity Rush? Busy working on Persona 5: The Animation I guess (which I am looking forward to, make no mistake). Maybe someone will make it in Dreams.

Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Final 4 - Match 125
Well, I guess we've come this far. Wasn't expecting the crazy amount of votes, but I really do like Gravity Rush.
And hopefully some Aloy Twitter fans come to the mix and make it real exciting and fun, then see if an arrow can hit the apple or miss.
Have fun! Go Kat!!!!
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Top 8 - Match 123
Well, that last round was an odd one. But I'm looking forward to the Kat vs Aloy match.
And I half tucked this vote, loved Uncharted.
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Top 8 - Match 123
I vote for Kat too!
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Top 8 - Match 122
And the war begins. Go Kat!!!!!

Had to vote for Kat. Loved all her games!
I was surprised to see Sully knocked off, but Aloy is worthy and I really should play that game sometime.
But yes! Team Kat - Team Dusty - Team Gravity - Project Siren

No GladOS in this tournament or am I going blind?

I wonder how far Kat can make it? Maybe Sully vs Kat? But what's the bet Sully wins the whole thing.
I do wonder too, why isn't it Kat and Dusty?

Re: The Last Guardian's Fumito Ueda Teases Next Title
@Octane Ah yes, you can make out the finger joints, thanks. It's interesting the features that are attached to the hand.
Re: The Last Guardian's Fumito Ueda Teases Next Title
From article: "To the right of the picture appears to be some kind of monster’s hand – it’s hard to make out."
Could also possibly be the mouth and nose of a large beast. Dragons often guard princesses.
Looks exciting! I hope it stays with Sony and it feels like it will (here's hoping).
