Been playing since launch and having a blast. This game is brutal on "normal" setting, but it feels right. The zone should be punishing and it makes you work for it. There is a lot of walking around, so be prepared for that. I still don't think A-Life is where it needs to be to make the zone more "alive", but it's not bad. It also looks great on PS5 Pro even on the performance setting and smooth as butter.
I just hit chapter 10 on the Gamepass version and having a really good time with it. I think I've actually gotten better at these kinds of games, since I remember giving up pretty early on in NG3 cuz it was kicking my butt. Of course, NG4 could just be easier overall...heh.
@VenomUK It's built for first-person. There is third person, but at launch it was a little wonky. Not sure if the new patch fixes it a bit, but patch notes say it's improved.
Hell is Us is an amazing game! Definitely recommend everyone try it out at some point. I'm still on the fence with Cronos with Borderlands 4 looming this week. Will probably wait for Cronos to go on sale down the road.
I played the demo and really enjoyed it. I'm SO in the mood for a more detective/mystery type game and this review makes it sounds just like that. Can't wait to play it!
@Dan12836666 I really don't understand no difficulty options either. That's depressing. Was looking forward to Cronos, but hearing about no difficulty options is a no-go for me if it's more souls-like. I just want to have fun and feel tense when playing a game like this, not frustrated by shoehorned in difficulty.
@Porco I totally agree. That's exactly what I thought watching this. I'm somewhat hopeful it's better than this trailer, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
