@CRASH64 agreed, no items made the game way more fun and made MP management a core aspect of it. I like it when difficulties force you to switch strategies.

@Grimwood Don’t be ridiculous. the show was far from being awful and one the highest applauded shows of the year so far and will continue to be.

Good, take your time and get it right as opposed to releasing something half baked and on time.

It would be pointless to show all of their cards they’re holding with Summer Games Fest around the corner.

@KaijuKaiser both are long established franchises and it would be great to see FF get some of that critical acclaim that TotK has been getting. I think it just may this time around.

Can’t wait to play this, and with a harder NG+ it just adds to the replay value. This game can’t get here soon enough!

@Renegade_master They should’ve stopped making Halo when Bungie left. But Halo is another example of Microsoft being unable to even come up with their own original IPs and having to buy them as Halo was in development for Apple before Microsoft bought Bungie.

Did anyone there even play the game before it launched? If so, it’d be delayed for at least another 6 months. There was little to no hype to this game anyways so they should’ve taken as much time as necessary.

All digital storefronts should pull this game until it’s worth playing.

They’re shooting themselves in the foot by not releasing any new Bethesda IP on PlayStation, although Redfall being cancelled on PlayStation was a blessing in disguise.

And yeah, Microsoft has cash for days, they wouldn’t even feel the financial loss by putting CoD on only Xbox or PC.

@Thumper the amount of consoles they’re selling says otherwise, not to mention PSVR2 has sold 600,000+ units in the first 6 weeks which is huge for any HMD with a limited user base.

But I digress, learn to keep your expectations in check if you wish to avoid further disappointment in future showcases and SOPs. In fact, Summer Games Fest may be a good time to put it in practice.

@Thumper you shouldn’t have high expectations for anything with limited information, especially in gaming these days.

Have all the high expectations you want if you desire so much to be disappointed with everything, and with high expectations, you only really have yourself to blame for the disappointment because you, yourself set that bar so high.

Keep your expectations low and you will never be disappointed.

@kyleforrester87 yeah I bet all of those positive responses are coming from Xbox gamers who can’t wait to play Spider-Man 2 on GamePass when it releases…

@motorik6 what makes you think it’s not going to be the full campaign? If they’re capable of making RE7 and RE8 into VR, as well as making RE8 a third person mode, it should be no problem to make RE4’s campaign entirely in VR.

@Grimwood No one said it was terrible either, in fact, some of the first few comments on PlayStation’s YT channel regarding it says that it’s the best PlayStation showcase ever.

Agreed, their own studios aren’t putting out any system sellers so at least 3rd parties are providing games for those who have an Xbox, to keep them.

@Grimwood weird because looking back at the 2021 showcase, they had plenty of 3rd party games there, don’t know where you got your definition of “showcase” but clearly it’s outdated.

@Intr1n5ic exactly this, I was expecting more 1st party reveals so I set myself up to be disappointed. Going back and watching some of the trailers individually I see that there were some more interesting than I gave credit for.

At first watch, it seemed like a misstep and more of an extended State of Play, however, there were plenty of reveals, more games that certainly had my attention than I give credit for and finally, some PSVR2 titles that I definitely want to check out.

A lot of people most likely failed to keep their expectations in check when they heard it was a showcase, myself included.

Looking back, no I don’t think it was as bad as the internet is making it out to be and it will be forgotten after Summer Games Fest, if those 1st party reveals will happen there.

@SgtTruth to say this is worse than RoP is truly a disingenuous and trolling statement at best. But by all means, go play this schlock and tell us how it’s better than Rings of Power, we await your review.

@playstation1995 With Summer Game Fest less than a month away, I am hoping that’s where all the 1st party titles will be revealed and this showcase was stuff that didn’t make it and Sony decided to do a showcase just to quiet the complainers about a lack of reveals.

Terrible execution if that is the case.

Very true and when you put some perspective to it, that’s 3, 1st Party AAA games that came out in the same year. That’s not bad output, you could even throw Call of the Mountain in there and add in Spider-Man 2 and that will be 5 1st party games in what could be 20 months. Not bad at all.

I think everyone saw this coming, at least Gollum’s voice isn’t someone trying to sound like Andy Serkis, whose Gollum was all too like John Byner as Gurgi in The Black Cauldron.

Here’s hoping they show a lot more during Summer Game Fest, there were a few announcements and trailers I liked but we need more of that 1st party support we crave.

That wasn’t a showcase, that was an extended State of Play, hopefully all the good stuff is being saved for Summer Game Fest.
