I like the comments that boycotting won't do anything cause they are absolutely wrong. Horrible word of mouth by hard-core fans will definitely affect sonys bottomline. We see it with movies constantly.

There would have to be multiple ps6 exclusives that I crave to want one. Naughty dog hasnt even released a game this generation. No bend. No bluepoint. Insomniac is trapped making marvel games. Guerilla supposedly is releasing what, 5 horizon games but they are MIA.

How is media molecule still around? They shoulda toss that turd out 5 years ago. No vr games. Dynamic pricing? Dynamic rip off.

This is how the next video game crash will happen. Remember the stock market is partially composed of and driven by the expectations of the public and share holders. If confidence crumbles, which is already happening, then that's the first domino to fall.

Component prices and a horrible economy will make it extremely hard to sell consoles over $1000 to all but the hard-core. The ps5 generation has trained consumers that incremental performance increases arent enough to sell units. Its always been about the games and since cross gen lasted so long for the ps5 there's no impetus on the consumer to upgrade systems.
Hulst has zero foresight and has damaged the brand immensely. Chasing live service cause they can't scale down their game size or partner into 2nd party agreements with studios. Its a losing situation especially when they keep a company like media molecule around still. They should have shuttered that studio 5 years ago after Dreams was a financial disaster. But no lets close Bluepoint. Seriously unintelligent executives who can't read the landscape

I'm not sure how financially feasible it is or how many games have the cache to do this but ya think this could happen with more companies?

I know people will disagree but there's a really high chance the video game industry crashes. Feel like it's already happening with the huge numbers of lay offs, studio closures, and rising chip/storage costs.

I'm 44 and have been gaming since 1st grade with an Atari. Besides college I've gamed my whole life. I'm not picking up a ps6 until maybe 2 or 3 years into its life cycle. I've seem lots of similar sentiment online, which take with a grain of salt.

Never seen the industry in such rough shape. AI isn't going to help these companies

The ps5 showed me i can definitely wait as I was super eager and excited to get my hands on one. Like lots of us I was checking websites constantly as the demand was very strong.

As it turns out it was by far my least favorite launch and it was insulting to see the number of cross gen games after I shelled out $600 for a new console. I got a psvr2 on sale but we all know sonys refusal to support that device.

So no, I won't be buying a ps6 for awhile after it comes out. Like another commenter mentioned Sony conditioned me. It conditioned me to stop caring about consoles at release. Worst Gen for ps exclusives by far

Playing thru trails of cold steel and have the sky remake so I'll be busy with those before chapter 2.

Definitely control and eventually wolverine but I'm nervous about how it shapes out

Dude...I dont agree with most of what you just wrote. And that's fine. I'm disappointed in sonys bad strategy. I'm disappointed that sony spent $76 million for a game that is incredibly niche and not selling well.

This is a Playstation site and I was comparing the great sales of bond to the horrible sales of saros.

You're wrong on the bond games. 30 games selling 10 million copies isnt good. Its a fact. Again bond draws decently at the box office the last decade. The bloom is off the rose for the franchise. That's why I'm happy the game did well and is reaching a larger audience.

Its perfectly fine to like saros. I'm making comparisons without emotions talking about sales figures.

Agreed with the wolverine comment. I think it'll be a good game but we've known about it for awhile and it's been leaked a ton. Ive reached my fatigue level with this game.

I don't need to see 15 minutes of this game but its the highlight. Spiderman 2 was really disappointing. I couldn't believe they doubled down on having more MJ type scenes. Just a bone headed decision that also impacts my hype for insomniac

I have no problem with saros. Being bewildered that I have a problem with sonys strategy is interesting.

People on this site were banging on about Saros and how its a darling and getting angry that people were talking about its poor sales. Bond shows up and eats its lunch.

Sorry but 40 million copies over 30 games isn't anything to brag about. When the best selling bond is only 5 million that's probably a great achievement for the studio but it doesn't mean ***** for sonys bottomline.

Just cause bond makes money in theaters doesn't mean it'll do well. It historical hasnt.

As a long time sony fan they dont have any strategy and when 1 of the only 1st party studio games to come out this year underperformed this much compared to, yes, a random bond game its troubling.

I understand io is a huge company and it released on multiple platforms. Its also partially a reskin of a game they've been making for decades. Saros undersold big time. Don't wanna hear that we don't know what their expectations were. Its selling way worse than returnal.

Good for bond. Those are great numbers for a character that traditionally doesnt do well saleswise except for goldeneye

Similar experience to suikoden but I powered thru that as an adult cause I really liked it growing up.

It's funny that this feature gets more common in gaming as our TVs exploded in size. Always love more options.

Xbox and psx have very different philosophical approaches towards money; Xbox is a rounding error to the accountants at Microsoft while psx is foundational to Sony's bottomline.

Hulst has bungled his job so badly I long for the days of jim Ryan. But they've kept the mess largely isolated to their platform. Xbox is all over the place the last few generations. They totally painted themselves into a corner. They could try and keep everything exclusive but it'll be difficult and potentially litigious. It could be the only way forward for their brand though

I think it's cause it was an option on the poll. I voted for it kinda as a lark and then over 60% of people agreed. If I didn't know better id assume that psvr2 was corporate espionage the way Sony has neglected it.

That streamlines into why I have zero excitement for the next state of play. Sonys 1st party output has slowed to a trickle this gen; most of my games are from 3rd party devs. Where are all the Lost Legacy type/size games? Why the complete lack of 2nd party development while Bungie, fairgames, media molecule get shovelfuls of cash? As a psx lover it's beyond infuriating
