Is Ghost of Yotei really the runaway success it's being made out to be? I'm not so sure. A lot of the coverage feels more like a PR campaign than objective reporting. There's clearly a strong push from some corners of the gaming media to frame the game's sales and reception in the most flattering terms possible.
Nice to see a good review for a remake of the best MGS game in the series. Since this is basically a visual overhaul with quality of life improvements, I will wait until the game is less than 30 dollars. I've played this several times back on the PS2 and there is no justification for me to purchase this now at full price.
Ghost Wire Tokyo. I wasn't sure about starting a new game as the reviews placed it in the good, but not very good or great, category. It's actually been a lot of fun and one of the better recent PS Plus bonus games.
When this arrives at the sub 30 dollar price point, I might consider it. When it comes to the movies, the first three are excellent with Temple of Doom being the absolute best of the bunch. Now that could be the basis for an intriguing Indiana Jones game.
Unfortunately, we have arrived at a place in which many gamers are reasonably suspicious of certain developers, especially when cinematic direction is self-consciously ideological. There is a history here. It's not as though the concerns are groundless. I don't see it getting much better in the near term.
Onimusha was the best apparent announcement by far. Hopefully it abandons the tank controls like the Resident Evil remakes Capcom has released recently. Project Robot was also intriguing but need to see more before confirming any excitement.
@Flaming_Kaiser it was patently obvious to those with a moderate knowledge of Star Wars that the main character was a gender swap of Han Solo. This is creative bankruptcy masquerading as originality. It was also almost certainly intentional, following a pattern by some leftwing creators of taking established characters in traditional IP and appropriating them.
There is nothing wrong with female leads in games, but there is something very wrong with this one.
Unsurprising that sales were below expectations, gender swapping a main character from the OT and trying to argue it is creativity is utter nonsense. There were additional faults with the game, but the far-left girl boss trope has become tiresome. This game qualifies for permanent rejection.

He made a self-evident observation, not sure why any reasonable person would object.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Gaming Plans for the Holidays?
Finish playing Resident Evil 4 Remake and then realize there aren't many games that can compare.

Re: Naughty Dog's New PS5 Game Is Finally Announced, Sci-Fi Action Title Intergalactic
Looks awful, a tired retread of the girl boss trope, this is no longer novel and was never really very interesting.
Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at The Game Awards 2024?
Onimusha really stood out in terms of a franchise that deserves a genuine remaster.

Re: Indiana Jones Looks Like an Adventure Worth Waiting for on PS5
Skeptical of this game given how beloved IPs have been treated as of late, hope this turns out well but not counting on it.

Played the original and it was one of the best games I've experienced overall across all platforms.
Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta's Difficulty Will Differ Depending on Your Choice of Camera
This might be one of the few games I will purchase at list price, MGS 3 is just that good.

Nice, these games will be wishlisted for the eventual price reduction in a few months time.
