Re: Review: Yooka-Laylee (PS4)

BakaKnight

Judging by the review I can't avoid to think it's unfair, but to the dear old '90 games XD
They may be old and a bit clunky by today standard, but I got the chance to play some of them in recent years and I mostly spent my time having fun then suffering from the flows of the past.
By the review it sound like YL is the exact opposite, bits of fun getting obscured by way too many flaws, I'm not sure it's fair to blame it all to the '90 fidelity, it sound more like this game is, unfortunately, worse then all the legends it tried to emulate.

Re: Poll: Should Resident Evil Remain First-Person for Now?

BakaKnight

Didn't buy RE7, but that's just me not be good at horror games, yet I couldn't resist to watch several videos and... is it really the first person the key-change here?

RE7 surely looks like a solid horror game, but I couldn't avoid to think that it feels right cause it was made with the right mind-set, characters, dialogues, gameplay, even the silliness, they all appear very Resident Evil-like.
I may be wrong, but I think that Capcom can pretty much put the camera wherever it want in the next games as long as it keeps making them with the same spirit.

Re: Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's Free-to-Play Version Punches Through 8 Million Downloads

BakaKnight

@Matroska Welp, I didn't want to say 8 millions is a poor result, but I definitely think it had the numbers to do more, especially being a multiplatform result (but I can totally understand Koei Tecmo celebrating, ack, I would celebrate too if I would produce something that surpassed an 8 million mark XD).

By the way, since Mila is a free PLUS DLC she follow the same rule applied to any Playstation PLUS contenent downloadable for free, meaning that you can use her in Core Fighter for as long as you keep being a PLUS user.
So if you are a stable PLUS user than I guess you can fit her in the category "if you download before that date, she's your to keep for free".

Re: Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's Free-to-Play Version Punches Through 8 Million Downloads

BakaKnight

Definitely love core fighters, it was a great first game for try out the PS4 when I got it.
Kinda surprised however about the 8 million download, seems a bit low given it's a fantastic free game aviable on the most sold console of this gen.

EDIT: The download is only for PLUS members, which I'm not. Next time don't raise my hopes by forgetting to mention such detail in the article please ;w;

Re: Review: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone (PS4)

BakaKnight

And again an Hatsune Miku's game get released without me (and I bet many others) even noticing till the last second, would it hurt them so much to advertise these games a little bit more? >.>;

Anyway totally gonna check it out tomorrow, ultra glad that one of the two free songs is also one of my top favourites.

Re: Beware of Final Fantasy XV Spoilers as Street Date Breaks

BakaKnight

"Don't check the spoilers! Don't look at them! You don't want to discover you are in time to cancel your preorder... I mean... You could spoil yourself of the fun!"
Just kidding, althought so much have been saying about this game, that I'm sincerely interest in see how worthy the wait was in reviews and users comments, even if I don't plan to get the game myself.

Re: PS4 Pro Requires Very Little Investment from Developers

BakaKnight

Sounds too generic to me for be usable, I mean, I'm no devellopper, but for that little that I know changing stuffs like resolution and frame-rate can be super easy or very complicated depending the game.
Resolution can completly mess up things like the UI depending how it's programmed and some games heavily rely on the frame-rate for many in-event stuffs (from input management to how the game act in different situations and obviously how fast) meaning that some 720p-30fps games could require to be fully retested and adjusted from start to end before managing a proper 1080p-60fps jump.
Add any possibile graphic, particle or whatever addition that the more power allow and we are in for quite a long work for some games.

That "it's gonna cost a fraction to some of them" really sound to me like those "some of them" are a fraction too (Not that I want to disagree with an expert that surely know A TON more than me, but...well, too late I'm afraid I did it XD; ).

Re: Review: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X (PS4)

BakaKnight

Wait... this come out next week already?!
Loved the demo and loved Project Mirai on 3DS, but I didn't expect Diva X to come out this soon, anyway great review and, as expected, sound like the game is great too.
Definitely gonna get it sooner or later.

Re: Soapbox: Why Sony Needs to Change Its Refund Policy

BakaKnight

I already mentioned in another comment, but a fun fact is that in EU there is even a law for digital refunds, but it's so weak that all digital stores can simply and legally make you decline it before selling to you the product.
Then again that law itself would be the end for this market, 14 days for return a game, no matter what you did with it, would allow a ton of people to play for free, getting a refund after finishing a game.
So far steam is probably the fairiest system as they replaced the legal refund with one that allow to defend both the customers and the creators rights. It's not perfect maybe, but it's definitely something and I definitely hope that more companies will try as much for offering in future refunds options.

Re: Review: Inside (PS4)

BakaKnight

After a review like this I can't avoid to add the game to my wishlist and the fact that the trailer looks terrific just hurry me to buy it sooner than later.

Re: Gamers Demanding a No Man's Sky Refund Aren't Happy with Sony

BakaKnight

@Neolit That's slightly wrong, by default EU's law doesn't defines digital goods consumed after the customer downloaded the digital content, you actually have by law 14 days for get a refund on any digital good you purchased, no matter what you did with it or why you wish to get refunded.
However all digital stores won't allow you to download anything if you don't decline your right for a refund first (or simply state that you are accepting to decline it by doing your purchase).
So... Yes, at the end it's absolutely true, Sony have no obligation in offering a refund, but things are a bit more shady then "the law says they can", it's more like "the law poorly tries and therefore fail to protect the customers". Not Sony fault anyway, everyone does this and it's crazy how the EU made such a nonsensical and easy to avoid rule regarding the refund policy of one of the most growing markets of our time -.-;;;
