It's a bit mad that we still don't have any real details regarding the content included in Final Fantasy XV's season pass. The pass is right there, available to buy with real money on the PlayStation Store, but other than a vague list of DLC pack names, we don't know what it consists of. Oh, and Square Enix can't tell us, apparently.
Writing on its official blog, the publisher states that "unfortunately we can't show you what any of the DLC looks like... The reason for this may surprise you". Essentially, the company says that the DLC isn't actually in development yet, which is fair enough, but that doesn't change the fact that the almost completely unspecified product is available to purchase right now.
"The FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game just to sell to you later. This is really important because we want everyone who buys and plays the FFXV base game to know they are getting the full FFXV experience," the post continues, no doubt responding to the backlash of disgruntled fans who questioned whether the content was being removed from the core release.
So, what do you make of this? Should Square Enix be selling something that it can't even detail, or are people just daft for buying it in the first place? Feed us your thoughts in the comments section below.

I'm not buying until I see what it's going to be. As excited as I am for this game, nah. Not doing it, man.
"The reason for this may surprise you... but we are actually more interested in getting your money then starting to plan what the DLCs will be"
... Or maybe the DLC is gonna be a super awesome surprise and I should give Square more credit, but some game's companies can be such a cash grab nowaday ^_^;
If it is such an awesome surprise, show it and sell even more of this. Right now it just sounds shady and cynical.
Reminds me of the Arkham Knight season pass, which was super vague about what you got. I feel they're just trying to make you grab it now because the length of what's in it won't be too long or something.
I'm just daft enough to plump for this, I feel i'll be playing XV quite a bit over the winter months
@sinalefa I ordered LCU yesterday on Amazon for $16 w/ Prime. I ordered FFXV w/ Prime back in January, and I am really considering canceling it now. I was already mad about the $25 season pass, but seeing that $49.99 Witcher 3 bundle yesterday, 10 months after release, why buy it day 1? I wonder where I can pre-pay for an NX sight unseen?
Erm...i'll keep my money until you can tell me then??
Money in my bank (earning interest) is much better than your bank (earning interest) while you wait to actually tell people what they are getting. You know, in order for us to make an informed decision whether or not it's worth the price!
I swear, does this shizz only seem happen in video game land??
I'll get the game, but f me, this stuff is getting a wee bit out of hand.
I don't get why they would make a season pass for a game like this. Im only interested in playing the main story and thats it. Good for them for not taking away from the core game. But it is dumb, that they would already have a pre-order for something they haven't even begin to create. haha
I call shenanigans - this should be illegal.
In other news, the sun is hot!
You mean to tell me that square are doing what almost everyone else has been for 5+ years, color me shocked.
Stuff like this leaves a bad taste in my mouth about this game, really regretting the ultimate addition purchase.. unless they decide to add the dlc with it.
@rjejr
You are right. I bought the Witcher quite a while ago and I kinda regret it now, since I am roughly paying the same if I got all DLC individually.
Same reason why I never bought MKX. Waiting for a discount in MKXL.
On the one hand it's good that they're not removing anything from the game; on the other hand it's gross that they're selling this now with zero information.
Don't think I've ever bought a Season Pass without actually playing the base game first. Not about to start now, especially when SE's not even revealing what's in it.
If people wish to spend their hard earned currency on mystery item A, that's their prerogative. Good luck to them.
Personally I am not interested in the slightest. Happy to pay slightly more at a later date if it turns out the dlc is actually worth playing.
