@BearsEatBeets Exactly, I can definitely see Intergalactic releasing in 2026, even close to other first-party. July or November/December could be realistic too.
However, I'm biased to believe will release sooner rather than later, because this is my most anticipated game of the year, lol.
In 2025, I bought only two games on launch: Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei. I generally buy one or two games every 2 months that are on good sales (50% off or more), but that's it. I'm Brazilian, and gaming is specially expensive here, so I'm quite picky.
I wasn't excited for this game, at all. That is, until yesterday's trailer. It looks so brutal and fun to play. Plus, I really like the main actor, he was a really good Spartacus.
I love Tsushima, and I was blown away by the gameplay video, it was super fun do watch... And then I went to the internet, lol.
People just can't seem to find anything positive to say anymore. Yotei looks awesome, and yet all I read was "it's just Tsushima again", "the graphics are the same as a PS4 game".
Seriously? You guys seem so negative that I don't think you actually like any video game.
@GymratAmarillo Wow. Prices are adapted for each country, it's not just for Brazil.
And with the "everything is expensive nowadays" logic, then people can't complain about anything increasing prices.
As a Brazilian, it's very upsetting. For context, 90% of the population has a salary below 3.500 reais, and one game will cost 400 reais. It's absurdly expensive.
I'm privileged to have a slightly better life condition, but I won't tolerate more price hikes.
Video games are my favorite hobby, and I won't ever stop playing. But these constant price increases are unaffordable even for people with a decent salary, and soon I won't have a choice but to go for other means. I want to buy games and support the industry, but it's unsustainable.
More profit than all previous generations combined, and yet some people still argue that games and consoles should be more expensive. Right... Poor Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, they are all correct in continually increasing the prices of their consoles and games. Things are so hard for them right now!
@LordVile I think it's probably a new IP. I highly doubt that Druckmann would just produce Last of Us Part 3.
The Last of Us Part 2 is my favorite game of all time, and while it sucks that it will take a long take to see the conclusion of this trilogy, I'm fine waiting it while playing two new Naughty Dog IPs.
The standard price in Brazil has changed from R$ 350 to R$ 400. This is a big jump. I was going to preorder the game as soon as it was available, but now I'm seriously reconsidering it. This is just too damn expensive. Truly a bummer.
I'm really excited to play this soon. Sadly, I haven't found any physical edition here in Brazil. And for some reason, the game has the same price as the 70 dollars games.
@Puketapu I thought that they would do these tonal changes and shifts between seasons, so season 2 would be Ellie, season 3 would be Abby. I would have found this to be much more interesting than the common structure, it feels less unique.
I actually did not like that they moved things around. The structure of Part II is brilliant and well thought-out. The story is shown in the order it has for a reason, so changing this kind of diminishes its impact. Plus, making it more linear also takes away some of the aspects that made the game so unique, since its premise is common.
This is the inevitable conclusion to every single live service game that comes out. It doesn't matter if the game is successful and good, or a failure and bad.
Live service itself is a plague on our industry on almost every level.
I'm so hyped for this game. Rebirth was my favorite game of 2024, easily. Hopefully it comes out in 2027, but I'm guessing it's more realistic to expect it around 2028.
@get2sammyb I can see your point, but I think you are not addressing the whole situation. I'm very much the type of player that wants single player games, btw. The problems are:
1- Sony went from being single player focused to online focused too fast, and with no strategy. They went from having 1 or 2 GaaS to 12. They should have made it one new live service at a time, gave it time and learned from their mistakes, not invested on 12 simultaneously.
2- They wasted their single player studio talent on this crap. So they took away single player games from their players with the entire years that were lost.
Sony absolutely should want a space in the GaaS area, but not like they are doing it now. It should be strategic, and not wasting their studios' talent and time, specially when they are renowned for single player experiences.
It's genuinely shocking how bad these decisions were. Some of their best studios wasted on more live services, if having what is already is development enough. Sony seriously needs to get their ***** together and focus on what works and they know how to do: single-player games.
We will probably get new trailers and the release dates for Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei, so that would be good. I'm guessing Intergalactic will be a first half 2026 game, so maybe a new trailer and date in the later part of 2025.
@GreatAuk Lol, except it's not just opinions. It's bad faith actions, and ill intent, not just online opinions. Very different things. Every single thing connected to Naughty Dog gets mouth foaming hate now.
The anti-woke cult of 2023-2024 has become the exact same as the woke cult of the 2010s. Completely delusional, nitpicky and actively looking for controversy and things to complain about.
Very cool to see Silent Hill 2 get some love. It has become my favorite horror game ever. It's my second favorite game of 2024, behind only to Rebirth.
@RBMango It's completely insane how people react to ND now, the anti-woke crowd, and the anti-Semitic people too. The entire discussion about their games has become poisonous.
Wow, the amount of gratuitous hate the game and Naughty Dog are getting is insane. People complain that ND became the Last of Us Studio, and when they announce a new, completely different IP, it's also bad. Naughty Dog has consistently made the very best games in the industry, and sadly the discussion around their games have become impossible.
Yeah, and what they are showing lately isn't encouraging or good. As a gamer, I'm pretty happy with my games, but as a PlayStation fan, it's pretty underwhelming. I barely see reasons to be excited for the next years. We know nothing, and with all the cancellations happening, we might get nothing.
Alan Wake 2 is my GOTY 2023, and I really enjoyed Night Springs, but Lake House was underwhelming, sadly. It's good, but nowhere near as good as the main game or the first DLC. Still a good time, though.
I partially agree. There's been a drop in creativity for new IP, but overall, I still think games have been better than ever, and much better than films and tv shows. And still, you can find very interesting, creative and unique games, and not just indie games. Alan Wake 2 is incredible and absurdly creative, and it's pretty much AAA.

Re: Brazilian Gamers Infuriated by Sudden PS5 Price Hikes
@SuntannedDuck2 Exactly. Now, contrast this with the recent news of Sony's record profits with PS5. Looks grim for the average consumer, right?

I would like to know what he believes are the reasons behind Baldur's Gate 3's and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's success.
Maybe because both are great single-player RPGs?
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PS5) - Immersive Knight Sim Makes for a Peerless RPG
It looks awesome. I will definitely get this game later this year, as I don't have much money at the moment to buy it.
I just started the first game, since I got it on a sale on PSN. It's pretty janky, but I'm really liking it so far!
Re: BioWare Downsizing as It Focuses on Next Mass Effect, Some Staff Moved to Other EA Teams
@LifeGirl Completely disagree about ME3. Not only is it a good game, it's actually amazing.
About BioWare, it's sad to see their state. They were once my favorite game studio. How far they have fallen.

@RBMango Exactly. I don't really care how much money Sony lost, but the time and effort from the devs are lost forever. Talent wasted.

Utter disaster is still an understatement.

Naughty Dog Derangement Syndrome is real. Even a harmless and cool fan art of a ND employee sparks controversy now. It's pathetic, honestly.
