@nomither6 the single player part isn't that bad. Most of its problems are with the live service part, which gets overly repetitive quite fast. Most people tend to like at least the campaign part of it, just was a bit short with under 10 hours.

@nomither6 I’ve thought about picking up Avengers several times when it’s on sale, but like you, I keep thinking it will go F2P or drop on PS+ at some point. If it would go down closer to the $10 range then I’d consider it since I know I’d only want to play it for the SP campaign and just leave all that live service stuff alone.

Have you played Guardians of the Galaxy? It’s supposed to be good and if you need to scratch that Marvel superhero itch then it might be a safer bet. I picked it up on sale and it’s in my backlog to get to soon.

And if you don’t mind DC you could visit the old Arkham games if you haven’t played all those. I still need to finish Arkham Knight. I also liked Injustice 2 for its superhero themes, even though it’s a fighter at its core it does have light story elements.

Another older superhero game in the vein of Spider-Man worth a go if you haven’t played would be Infamous Second Son and First Light. It’s not an established comic book franchise but the game is basically a superhero game.

@DualSense @Lavalera Yeah it’s weird because after playing another couple hours last night I am really enamored with Kena. It does a lot of things right and is quite clever. Yet there are things off about it, sometimes blatantly off, like the bipolar difficulty levels, and sometimes inconspicuously off, like the pop-in, screen juttering, and narrative pacing.

Overall, the longer I play the better I like it and I am in a better groove now with the flow of the game.

@Th3solution It took few hours for Kena to grab me too. Probably until the first major boss in the village when you help the two kids that the penny dropped what was happening.

Life is Strange: True Colors

Not surprising at all that I'm enjoying it so far (about to finish Chapter 1 I believe) given that I've highly enjoyed both Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm (yes, I actually like the Chloe character). It's also refreshing to play something much more laid back after playing 2 lengthy games in a row.

@Th3solution i forgot about guardians of the galaxy , thanks , i’ll look into that for sure . i’m actually replaying the return the arkham games right now , but i was looking for something that wasn’t just batman since we all played his games to death lol

@Lavalera single players fine with me but for just less than 10 hours in a game that’s supposed to be grand since it’s the avengers and they’ve had like , what , 3 movies worth of a story , is reaally a put off . i’ll hold out on it more

I need to get back into GotG, left it hanging on chapter 5 once Guilty Gear took a hold of me. Just one more match can turn into an entire evening of fighting and there isn't much time for anything else but sleep.

I really liked Kena as well but at times its bloody hard!

Thankfully some developers give you the option of lowering the difficulty when stuck.

@GeezerviserBom Has that been confirmed? I know there was some vague quote about it not being an XBox exclusive, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will appear on PS5. It might just mean it’s going to be on PC also.

If the game does release on PS5 then it would make sense for Microsoft to do so, because it will certainly release “free” on GamePass for the Xbox crowd, and they have a chance to make some serious cash from selling the game outright on PlayStation.

@Th3solution there are 2 conflicting reports.

1 legit insider says "last time i heard it's not an exlusive"
the other said "last time i heard it is an exclusive"

so it's 50/50.

@jdv95 To add to that, Jez Corden, the person claiming it wasn't exclusive, said that the info he had about the exclusivity is very old and it might be exclusive after all. So until the platforms are announced its unknown

@jdv95 @Lavalera Double confirmed for PS5 then.

@velio84 ND are certainly experts at the atmospheric setpieces and narrative driven games. Starting with UC4 and LL might make UC1-3 feel slightly more bland because they evolved the gameplay part too throughout the series. That said, UC1-3 are still excellent, imo. I replayed UC1 a couple months ago and it held up well. I have UC2 on deck for some time in the coming months, and plan to gradually make my way to the PS5 Legacy collection. Have you experienced ND’s The Last of Us couplet? If not, you’ll find the same excellence in atmosphere and storytelling on display there too.

@velio84 What will be interesting is what ND’s future games might be. Obviously Factions 2 is the focus for them now, but what next? Maybe it’s TLoU part 3. Apparently they won’t make any more Uncharted as I think I read that any possible continuation of the franchise will be carried on by another studio.

So seeing ND’s development chops on something completely unique would be great. Like how FromSoft evolved their formula, it would be great to see ND take what they are known for and expand on it. Maybe that’s what Factions 2 (or whatever it will be called) is, but I’m hoping for a fantastic new single player IP from them. Like a Sci-Fi epic or a RPG set in the Stone Age or something completely different like that. Maybe some kind of cool time-travel interwoven story action game. I want to see them really blow us all away.

@Th3solution Naughty Dog's next game is highly rumoured to be a remake of The Last of Us. IIRC Bend Studio were supposed to be making it but Naughty Dog have ended up taking it on.

I'm currently playing A Monster's Expedition amongst a couple of other things. It's a very clever and engrossing puzzle game. Only planned on giving it quick go for 15 minutes yesterday and ended up playing it for over 2 hours. It's too tempting to do just one more island.

One thing I've just noticed with it, is that it doesn't show up in my games played list on either the PS5 or phone app. Anyone experienced that with a game before?

@Jimmer-jammer awesome way to describe it. I'm one of the persons who absolutely loved the game and it's good to see I'm not the only one. I had the same relaxation idea when moving through Shibuya.

@Jimmer-jammer
Good to read your positive impressions of it and the way you describe it makes it sound like something I would probably enjoy too. I'll now be more likely to keep it in mind for future impulse purchase. Thanks.
