Update []:
Following the announcement of the one year anniversary update, Sandfall Interactive has revealed that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has now sold more than 8 million copies.
The last official figure we heard was back in September 2025, when it had sold 4.4 million units. This means it's nearly doubled its total over the last seven months or so.
"Thank you so so much to every single person who has played, created art, shared, streamed, discussed, and supported this game," the team writes in its announcement.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 released to overwhelmingly positive reviews, which came as something of a surprise given it was a debut game made on a relatively small budget.
It went on to become the story of 2025; an underdog that won over critics and players alike, sold millions of copies, and picked up more awards than any other game before it.
