@Ravix Still Wakes The Deep turned into Still Wakes The Ravix, we were talking about how authentic Still Wakes The Deep is, I recently finished (such a good game) and now TheSolution and DrVenture are playing it. Scottish came up, Johnny was explaining that Scottish is still English (I think, I'm also confused now) The game had words like 'leccy' 'graft' 'tatties' so naturally I researched the meanings, somehow how sausages came into it. Tatties I thought were something else so I used your company Boobisoft to explain the meaning. The bottom image is probably Kingdom Come Deliverance what are the first two? and what are you even playing assuming you are gaming and not truly locked up somewhere? I'm mostly playing Deep Rock Galactic Survivor. I might try The Midnight Walk when I get back to London, we're in Jordan attending a very neat and exciting special forces/Ops expo, sort of like Gamescom for security specialists and States who want to keep their borders/etc safe. It's shopping too but I'm already tired and it's only been the first day so a new game is a bad idea for now.
@Th3solution I had a dream that I replied to you, then you told me that PretendoEnt was being investigated and you started burning the files with fire and fuel, there was smoke everywhere and you were saying 'we need to break the windows' to let the smoke out and I was saying we can't. It was a strange one, I woke-up, checked my reply and it wasn't there.

Life is confusing, so are Hideo Kojima games but I did think you meant Dark Souls 2.
Although I did spend a lot of time with Dark Souls 2 last year and wouldn’t mind playing it again one day. My goal is to play Dark Souls 3 before playing Elden Ring, because no, I actually have not played ER.
That right there I think is why I had that dream. I was shocked that you hadn't played Elden Ring and before bed kept thinking 'how has he not played Elden Ring', I was shocked. It's one of those games that I know inside out, the map, the world, the enemies, the drops and the story. I wish I could remove those memories and play it again fresh, you are really lucky and have something so good in your future.
The Obessive-Compulsive part of my brain wants to do the Dark Souls games first in order of release. I might save Sekiro for after Elden Ring, though. I feel like even though it’s a FromSoft game and it came out before ER, it’s a different kind of game, whereas ER is more of an evolution of the Souls games.
That's how I did Fromsoft games too, the same for Rockstar so I definitely understand the mindset and the actual power OCD holds. I think Demon's Souls PS3 is my favorite, I'm just not sure if it's because it was my first Fromsoft game or because it genuinely is the best. You have a lot of games to go before you reach Elden Ring, but it will absolutely be worth it. Elden Ring is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I like that it did open the series up to more people, the spirit summons were Fromsoft doing it right. But I don't want to say too much, I don't want to spoil the game for you or anyone else.
Dark Souls 3 was actually going to be my end of the year game this year, but I’m leaning toward playing either Witcher 3 or GoW Ragnarok instead.
I still have to try a God of War game, if I do it will be the PS5 one that came before Ragnarok and hopefully it's not a heavy button-mashing game, or that they at least have enough accessibility options to remove or deal with that mashing. I don't really feel any draw to the series but should at least try. I think Dark Souls 3 has sixty frames per second now, I remember someone saying it recently. I can't say too much about the game due to spoilers again, other than it has some amazing bosses, great environments and some really interesting weapons and armors. For a lot of people it's their favorite.

@GirlVersusGame I Sol said they were speaking a strange English in Still Wakes the Deep and I pointed that they were in fact from Scotland. Ravix, his fake game publisher and sausages some how got thrown into the mix.
As for the actual game I just got past the monster Trots in the laundry room. That was fantastic. Reminded me of The Thing. I thought it was going to be one of those things when you don't get to see the threats, but oh no you do get to see them. I love how it slowly introduces it, bit by bit. First you hear it, then later you see glimpes of it, then you see it at a distance. And then you see it right close up. That is a great way to build up tension and a sense of fear. It is rare that I feel that way about anything these days. So hats off to The Chinese Room. 🎩

@JohnnyShoulder That scene really made an impression. I remember going through the area and wondering would I need to hide in those cupboards and if so, why, and what would I be hiding from. Then I saw him and really did feel genuine fear. The lighting was great too, it really builds too, as will the rest of the game, I won't say anything else, you'll know what I mean when you are running for your life.

Sometimes that's just the way things go. I don't think it's fake to him though, I imagine he's after turning his home into Boobisoft's Headquarters for real. Complete with that really bad Tony Montana something he made (with A.I.) the name was wrong too, I forget the spelling but it was funny.

Yeah, Rav has been onto me to play Elden Ring also, as have several other forum folk here. I’m definitely looking forward to it. One of my friends said that with my limited time that I shouldn’t waste any time playing lesser games and just go straight to the highest quality and so I should fast-track Elden Ring ahead of anything else because he anticipates it will be one of my all-time favorite games. He knows me fairly well so is probably right, but I feel like I’m going to love Dark Souls 3 also. Like you said, it’s some people’s favorite FromSoft game. Also, some people’s favorite is Sekiro. Many prefer Bloodborne. So we’ll see. I’m really glad I didn’t skip Dark Souls 2 because I really, really liked that one too.
God of War (2018) isn’t what I would call button-mashy. (The old PS2/PS3 games are though) It’s less strategic and tactical than the Souls games, but it’s not chaotic mashing like DMC either. There’s different weapons and some blocking with shields and magic so you mix and match abilities during combat. I think it’s got a nice weighty feel to its combat. The story is well told and the acting is top shelf. The total presentation is just S-tier, like most Sony first party. I think since you enjoy mythology and lore, you’d probably like the whole Greek/Norse references.

I can't believe you've never seen it, some of the most insane TV there's ever been with some of the biggest twists and shock moments. Real water-cooler stuff (idiom)

No time is a bad time for new games, though (someone has to actually play the things while I leave them half-played on a figurative pile.) but probably shorter ones are the best idea now, as GTA is looming for us all. I have no reference to all those horror games you tried, but glad they are working out for you. I did see there is another Witch game due out in January on the main page, if you haven't seen that yet.

@Th3solution God of War, to chip in, is basically a movie that has a bunch of semi-simple weighty combat, and some puzzle elements, some are even combat puzzles of I remember correctly, with occasional tough boss enemies (mostly just the Valkyries) It is a great experience, but for Jeremy Davies alone it is a 10. Now let's all just take a minute to swoon over Jeremy Davies, okay? Okay.
Sol, you will have to encourage me back onto DS2. Although I'm leaning more towards maybe picking up Dawnwalker again, unless I can truly mainline Sam and his Strands.

You are the second person today who said they didn't know what to play before Grand Theft Auto or made it sound closer than it might be (checks) okay twenty-one days, that's a really long time. Four games if you play each one for five-days, unless your name was Ravix and you play really big demanding games like Death Stranding 2 and Dawnwalker, those might take all of that time. You could play Still Wakes The Deep, The Midnight Walk or so many others. I think I'll start The Midnight Walk tomorrow or the next day, I only have one day left of my Expo then I can start a new game. There's no point right now, providing of course that jet-lag doesn't hit me on the way back and the GMT clocks did change again recently so there's that too. I do need to try another Spooky game though, The Midnight Walk sounds small and very doable. That Monster Train game might count too, I'm still fifty/fifty about trying The Village. Until Dawn had incredible character models/acting, but was painfully predictable. I'm still glad I tried it, the music was good too.

I've only seen a couple of episodes, someone told me those wolves die so I said no thank you and never watched the rest except for some scenes with Khal Drogo, I liked his acting. The picture sounds appendage related, which would make sense, or rather now it does. I just checked the internet it is, men tend to operate better with all of their pieces still attached. Crazy show.

I fell asleep trying to watch it, years ago now and so I never watched the others. I'm not sure why but I've never felt any draw to the trilogy, or any need to watch them. I think it's because Star Wars got there first and unless it has a Tolkien version of The Empire? I'm not sure I'd like it. I did play the game with the nemesis system, Shadows of Mordor, that was brilliant. I need to try that again sometime, I think it was PS4 so technically I did experience Lord of The Rings while lucid.

You should try Still Wakes The Deep, a couple of people are playing it this week and it's rather short. Longer for me because I was walking around staring at everything before running for my life and run I did, really fast. Thank you I saw the Witch game today, it looked like Stardew Valley and in pastels, it had real Tarot cards too, and seemed to be really well made. It's a good time to like Indies, I've also started using the ignore tab and now each article/comments looks and feels a lot friendlier. I saw that strange Racoon game too, it releases the same day as Warhammer Survivors, I might try both on the same day, that would be a lot of dopamine.
@JohnnyShoulder well, I do understand that you couldn't refrain from rubbing my sausage and / or lamp or whatever, so I will let you off this one time. At least buy me a drink first - when the urge next takes you.

It may have been a miscommunication, I always thought it was exclusive to trophies as in you preferred to avoid that level of completion, it sounds more like you mean the entire game. I'm trying to remember any small Indies you've mentioned, none come to mind. It is what it is I suppose.

I have nothing but focus, we're both wired differently in many ways but on the subject of completion. I'm done with my Expo so I tried Monster Train, another deck-builder like Slay The Spire. I deleted it after about twenty-minutes, then I tried Balatro and deleted that too. I think we're all wired differently for a great many things and now I'm convinced that deck-builders absolutely positively aren't for me. I do like to give a game a chance and I am a little tired but neither hit right and both were sent to the shadow dimension never to be seen again. I think I'll stick to rogue/likes/lites (I don't know which is which or why) that don't use cards. I like to watch my Partner play real-life poker, so I thought I'd like Balatro but it was just me on my own shuffling cards. It didn't feel like I was accomplishing anything. And Monster Train like so many deck-builders expects the player to read the developers mind and offer a tutorial that is minuscule at best. I won't call it awful, it's all personal opinion, but I really didn't like it. I'm just going to work on some Ballxpit instead, then perhaps an Indie with a story.

I haven't been choosing my games, recommendations all the way. Which obviously helps, I need to check the internet for Legion (checks) 'David Haller, a paranoid schizophrenic, is admitted to a psychiatric facility. Later, an inexplicable encounter with fellow patient Syd Barrett makes him realise that he may not be ill after all'. That sounds a little grim, but I do find mental illness interesting and have read a couple of books about schizophrenia. Mainly because I've met some crazy people on Tor, the conspiracy crowd are truly unbalanced. Your show does sound interesting though. I haven't been watching any television lately, most radio-plays and audiobooks. They were starting to feel too overwhelming, radio-plays don't and they are based on an older more transparent time, so many of those shows had over arching innuendos and assumed a few too many things. I'll eventually try again, I haven't been watching any movies lately either but will eventually with those too.
I said it already today in the Grand Theft Auto thread, I'm not expecting something life changing, and it does depend on what a person wants to get out of it. You might want to shoot things, I might just want to go for a walk. I didn't do much of anything in Five, outside of the story. It didn't feel immature, just hard to want to do. I explained it in thread as balancing virtual somethings with real-life somethings, I'm more focused on the trivial virtual somethings, those other somethings are already my life. I just hope it's fun, and that it performs well too. Are you hedging all of your bets on this game to get you through the rest of the year? do you spend a lot of time in the franchises world? historically speaking. I played them all in the order of release so there wasn't too much focus on the side-activities outside of the story. This is different in that it will be singular, there are none left in the series for me to play.

It really is, I'm aiming to be back in London for Halloween so I can do my usual candy to children from cars. It sounds odd but our district isn't open to the public so I don't see trick or treaters, or anyone really. This custom method works, it's sort of like Santa, he has his sleighs and reindeer and I have my sleighs and candy. I'm preparing for my Christmas toy drive too, lots of Legos again this year. Outside of gaming I'm keeping very busy. Being sick for those weeks slowed things down too much, of course I got through Crimson Desert which was nice but it was virtual and as always needs must.

Started playing Granblue Fantasy Relink: Endless Ragnarok, I'm about 3 hours in and having a good time so far, it reminds me of the newer Mana series games which is great
Over 40 hours into Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter and I'm on chapter 5.
So far this has been the worst Trails game I've ever played. What an absolute snoozefest this has been. Direct sequels in this series tend to be phenomenal and way more exciting than the previous game. This has been the complete opposite. All I've done throughout these five chapters is revisit the exact same areas as in the first game and do a bunch of terrible side quests of the absolute worst kind (fetch quests, wild goose chases, fighting monsters etc.).
Apparently the game has nine chapters, which I did not expect at all. Trails games tend to be 5-6 chapters long. The game will probably get better soon, but it's ludicrous to tell someone to endure 40 hours just to experience around 20 hours of fantastic content. It shouldn't have been structured like this at all. You can clearly tell these five chapters have been padding as none of them move the story forward besides introducing the villains of the story, which could've been done in a different way.
It's just baffling how uninteresting this game has been considering how good the first Trails in the Sky was.
