Capcom has really knocked it out of the park with Resident Evil Requiem, a game that got off to an incredible start in late February and has been selling like hot cakes ever since.
The series has been a strong performer for the publisher, but this latest horror action adventure has taken things up a notch. It's the fastest-selling entry ever, and has now surpassed 7 million copies sold.
This news comes via game director Koshi Nakanishi, who posted a photo of the team celebrating the milestone with a pair of huge cakes — one for Leon and another for Grace.

Requiem reaches this new milestone after about two months on the market. It previously reached more than 5 million in its first week, and 6 million a few weeks ago.
It's safe to say it's been a massive success for Capcom, which has been building up the Resident Evil series over the last few years with multiple remakes and new entries.
The more recent Pragmata has also enjoyed a successful launch, reaching a million copies sold within its first couple of days.
