Hungry for more Horizon: Zero Dawn? Well, you're in luck: Sony announced a new downloadable expansion named The Frozen Wilds, and it's out this year.
The trailer doesn't exactly reveal much about the content, but it looks like it could feature new mysteries and unveil new answers. That mountain looks particularly ominous.
Will you be dodge rolling back into Horizon for The Frozen Wilds? Headshot a Watcher in the comments section below.

I hoping this is some meaty content like The Witcher DLC. I don't want to beat it in one sitting.
That said I'm getting it day one regardless.
Always up for more Horizon!
Glad I waited now. Witcher 3 made some improvements with its DLC, maybe this will get even better? Still waiting to play Zelda and I own that one. With so many games tonight dated 2018 seems like I have plenty of time.
I hate that it is so but everything I ever saw about this game has always been a big turnoff. Literally, it dos nothing for me. I might as well watch paint get dry.
I should stop trying and accept it - this game is not for me.
Glad if you enjoyed the original. If so, this dlc looks promising.
one of the best games this year getting DLC - yes please!!
Day one for me. I was hoping for some DLC and got it, even better it's coming out this year.
@rjejr Zelda stole my gaming heart. That thing is pure. Not to mention the game play design in a class of its own.
I wanted for no other game since I started playing it.
Tbh I don't think it will be something large. I mean the game was released this year, how fast can they work on meaty dlc?
@Neolit
Are you playing on Switch or Wii U? I really want to play the game, and the game alone but not sure which way to go for experience , cost, etc?
@RPE83 if you already own or have a chance to play Zelda on the Wii U, then it's a no brainer. I play it on Wii U and it's absolutely phenomenal. Wii U was for a long time the primary platform of development for this game. Investing into switch for this game, if you already have a Wii U is a needles excersize in futility.
If you do not own any of the two then definitely go for Switch since its life cycle just started.
If money is tight, find a good second hand Wii U premium.
Enjoy!
Much as I loved HZD and carried on playing long after I completed the game and pretty much all side missions, got the shiny, electro-armour thingy, this DLC trailer wasn't that inspiring.
Day 1! I remember that shaman from one of this game's best side quests
This looks incredible - Horizon is the best game released this year, certainly on PS4.
This is a day one add-on, the gameplay is so addictive and smooth - dare I say Shadow of the Colossus stylee 😏
Nah, I had enough of Horizon once I completed the main quest and a few sidequests. It's a good game but not incredible imo, and there is a lot of other stuff yet to play out there.
@Neolit
Ah thanks, it was more I expected now manufacturing has ceased , a Wii U to be around £200 so I could pick one up, Zelda and a proper pad for less or about the cost of a switch. I saw the performance docked for Switch was comparable to Wii U (and I never played Skyward Sword either) , but I saw that even in the rare place you can get a full price new Wii U, they are still £250!
Thanks for the tip. With that in mind, I will probably wait till Christmas and get a Switch, and clear my PS4 backlog until then.
I will order this for day one, I loved the world and combat that much. I just hope it will be as lengthy as possible but that is my only concern at this point.
@RPE83 I am in the same boat (was thinking of getting a cheap WiiU to have as a standby if and when the one I have goes south - I know, what the? - but, this is our main bellowed family console and we have great time with it. One is zero, two is one - when trouble strikes).
In any case, I do not expect to see new WiiU packages going cheaper any time soon, quite the contrary, I have seen price increases (and most are sold by third party seller these days).
"I will probably wait till Christmas and get a Switch, and clear my PS4 backlog until then" - yup, that is the best decision.
One advice/warning once you do start playing BotW, previous two (wii/wiiU) Zelda games will be hard to swallow (the freedom in BotW is just so liberating that, at least in my case, one has problems going back) .
Cheers!
@Neolit I feel sorry for you then it blows me away. Every trailer i watch this E3 makes me feel more ecstatic. My best E3 almost i loved every trailer Detriot epic, Spiderman epic , GOW epic, Ni No Kuni ll epic, Days Gone epic, Matterfall epic, Uncharted epic, Remaster Shadow of the Colossus epic, Horizon epic. Only a ICO remaster would make it better. This E3 has blown me away.
Horizon Zero Dawn is my GOTY so any kind of add on will please me
@Flaming_Kaiser Oh, I share the sentiment re. what was shown at this conference. I was just commenting on the Horizon Zero Dawn - does not tickle my fancy.
GoW and Shadow of the Colossus were the peaks for me.
Days Gone has dampened my expectations a bit (I really did not like how the zombie pack behaved, it was underwhelming - still, looking forward to that game).
As for Detroit, I am very biased when David Cage's games are in question (everything I ever played by his studio, starting with Fahrenheit, clicked so well with me), i.e. I am sold by default.
@Neolit congratulations?
@daveofduncan yes
