@BAMozzy
HI. Thanks, yes I get that - last guide I bought was Final Fantasy X, or was it X2 when I played with my kid. But 500+ pages implies more of an online course than a game., It also implies that if you want to get the most out of a game then some kind of guide would help. Which then implies that you could end up missing out on a lot of whats in the game if you just dive in and play your own way and come across stuff by chance.
Either way we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one hand I want to get as much as I can from the game - which means getting the guide. On the other hand I just wanna have fun.
As for Fallout, I found that a bloody ordeal and gave up on it - collecting junk and stuff. More like a dystopian survival version of Steptoe & Son.

Well that's put me right off. I want to just get into the game and expect it to be intuitive friendly. Last thing I want is to plough through minutiae of subtle loadout differences for various scenarios, concoctions, enemies and environmental variations.

Weird. I was expecting that, since this was an article, there was some process more involved that just putting on stuff just like you would socks, gloves and a swimsuit.
Y'know, something elaborate like putting on a sari, kilt, sikh turban etc

Joe Carnahan has written and produced some great movies: The Grey, The A Team, Stretch; all films I really enjoyed. Shawn Levy's involvement in Stranger Things just upped my enthusiasm for the film.
The IMDB page has this:
Director: Shawn Levy
Writers: Joe Carnahan (screenplay), Joe Carnahan
After discovering the location of El Dorado, fortune hunter Nathan Drake sets out to find the infamous golden city, as well as recover the treasure left by his ancestor, Sir Francis Drake.

I strongly suspect we'll be seeing more of Drake and Sully. Sully found Drake when the latter was a teen so there are many years in between that could be filled up with those two - a lot of saving each others necks to build the strong bond they already had when we first meet them in first Uncharted

@ShogunRok
Thanks. Yes, I do sit several feet from the TV. I always make sure the spare controller is charged.
I suspect the extra weight is probably unnecessary since it doesn't even have a battery inside it - and is there to give a physical 'weight' to the premium price they are asking. Has anyone taken one apart?

Overpriced IMO.
I'd like to know if you sensed any, even slight, limitation brought about by the device being wired. I wonder if perhaps there was a need to compensate for that possible little niggle of constraint in the back of the mind?

If it weren't for the drip-feed of DLC and micro-transactions, developers and game companies would have to move on to deliver something better and more appealing than their last product - This is the very reason why COD grew from strength to strength. A better next game was the long term revenue plan. But that involves investment in creative talent and technology. No, it's far cheaper to go for lots of little sales.

It used to be 'Hey, lets make a game that people will just love to play'
Now it's "Gentlemen, the next game must be designed to ensure a long-term revenue source with low development cost additional components presented as incentives for users purchase .. etc etc.."

Oh dear. Seems the opportunities to escape into a simple, skills based game that gives us some respite from injustices of wealth-dependent competitive advantage are becoming few and far between.
Sign of the times.

@get2sammyb
The visuals, story and music are all enchanting but there is one problem; we are spoilt gamers. We know about stuff like frame rate, upscaling, AI, etc. Developers don't help by the way they keep pumping us with info on one or other aspect of a games qualities or attributes - to the extent that the merest glitch or flaw has us flooding our preferred forums with heated discussions.
Luckily Push Square is one of the sanest and more intelligent of the places where we can discuss games. I have a lot of respect for the members and authors here - and that is one of the reasons why I'm so hesitant about buying this game, regardless of how marvellous it all looks. It seems there is a 50-50 split between people here. In situations like this I wait for a price drop or patch fix if appropriate.

I've been reading the discussions here about camera and upscaling issues - they've all left me pretty hesitant about buying this. It seems to me that the wave of hype and high regard for the developer may have lifted scores higher than it realistically deserves.

No, Just no. This would scare the bejeziz out of me and I would just give it away to a stranger in a street far away from my house or put on a pair of surgical gloves and throw it out of the window while driving along a desolate road in Scotland so there's no hope of it ever finding it's way back.

@leucocyte Thanks. I didn't know that. But I still think they went wrong with UC4. As a writer myself I know how hard it is to structure a good story that engages the readers, or players in this case. Oversight and good editing is critical. I put my stories aside for a few days and when I come back to it, see weaknesses I wasn't aware of. Equally, having some 'expert readers' or editors look at it can reveal elements that need to change. I suspect this is what was lost when Hennig departed. UC4 is very much a guy/buddy story with the more vulnerable elements tagged on at the beginning and end; a cheap device in my opinion.

The bottom line is, the two guys who weaseled their way into taking over Uncharted totally killed off the magic that made Drake's adventures special and so appealing. A real shame. Nathan Drake was a real contender for legendary until those goons came along with their grand and gritty ideals. Straley and Drukmann really £**$*< up big time.

Agreed, simply don't search for or watch spoiler videos and reports. I did the same with Marvel movies and enjoyed Doctor Strange and 'Civil War' immensely.
I even steer clear of trailers nowadays. Such fun to be had. Absence/heart/fonder etc

@BAMozzy Agreed with all you say. Sam was a disappointing hefty 'wedge-in' the series could have done without and I believe stretched the narrative credibility of the series to breaking point.
Seriously, Nathan allows himself to get a crap salvage job, Chloe chucks in her career; Sam has the nerve to drag him away from it.. gimme a break. I enjoyed and finished the game but it lacked that old magic you could so easily lose yourself in.

Pity the vid isn't in hi-def though. All I need now is the time to play it. I was enjoying Watch Dogs 2 until I came across the unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Binge watched them last night on Netflix. Absolutely Brilliant fluffy, appealing off-beat humour

@BAMozzy I like the idea of having the option to run on PS4 or PS4Pro level or managing the CPU/Clock. Sort of giving the console gears.
I suppose you'd want some form of method of quickly accessing preferred presets or setting games to default to a players preferred presets for chosen games.

From Raimi's statement it appears Druckmann messed up by going and selling to Sony instead of sticking with Raimi - a film maker who knows the industry - to sell it and get things done. What a donkey. Hmm I wonder if ignorance and greed played a part in this.
