Yes, the PlayStation 4's numbers have dropped, but not by much. Sony's latest console shifted 22,104 units last week, which is down just 800 from prior figures - not a bad result considering that the machine's been steadily slipping back to its pre-price cut sales until now. The Japanese company will probably be hoping that the numbers settle around the 20,000 mark even on weeks without new releases.
Perhaps the biggest news here, though, is that we actually have something to write about when it comes to the software charts. The new God Eater game, God Eater Resurrection, entered in first and second place on Vita and PS4, respectively. The handheld edition sold through an admirable 125,876 copies.

Wow, looks like literally everyone who owns an xbox in japan bought Halo 5, it almost cracked the top ten! Way to go Microsoft!
@SonyInfinity
Lol, that seems about right; just over 7000 American expats called in sick last week in Japan.
I always feel Halo is one of those franchises that would sell pretty well over there if it was a PlayStation brand. I think the setting and lore would really speak to Japanse gamers and especially Halo 5 has some typical elements that I think Asian gamers will like.
Maybe MS should start bundling the One with a free PS4, sales would skyrocket
@SonyInfinity I'm more impressed that the XBO actually outsold something for once in terms of hardware sales! I know the general JP market has been terrible, but their figures over there have just been outrageously bad.
Speaking of sales:
I just noticed Dragonball Xenoverse is now $29.99 everywhere in the US. Which makes the $24.99 DLC cost almost as much as the game. Still better than buying the game for $40 though. Gift for son - done.
@SonyInfinity @Boerewors @SteveButler2210 who on earth stocks the xbone in Japan, must be amazon Japan, can't imagine who else would bother, are these games getting full translation? It baffles me.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi
What I can't wrap my head around is the amount of effort, time and money MS spends on trying to sell the Xbox to Japanese people; even the PS4 isn't selling as much as one might hope, what makes MS think the One will sell units?
MS has been neglecting huge parts of the world in favor of the USA, UK and also Japan, leaving continental Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa wide open for Sony to conquer. If they'd bother to make a push in Europe like they do in Japan for instance, the PS4 wouldn't be outselling the One 8:1. Based on what Xbox is offering you would think that Western gamers would be interested, but even all dudebros that MS just had to scoop up with the slightest of efforts are buying PS4s. But in the meanwhile they throw another Xbox One fanfest in Japan giving away free consoles and lowering the RRP every other month....
They reversed all questionable decisions concerning the hardware itself, but somehow they still don't seem to get what their target audience is. Sony is not just miles ahead because of the PS4 itself, but Sony is doing almost everything right in the marketing department.
I want to get God Eater Resurrection really badly but I'm not sure how I'd pay for it.. I mean, it would be awesome if I could just put in my debit information and boom, but I know it doesn't quite work that way..
@B3ND3R It would be better if they localized it. I want to play it too. I don't think the localization is out of the question...
@B3ND3R If would buy it if they just gave us english menu's nothing more.
6.[PS4] God Eater Resurrection Cross-Play Pack & Anime Vol. 1 (Bandai Namco, 10/29/15) – 16,281 (New)
This sounds brilliant!!! With the Anime!!
@Flaming_Kaiser @belmont @B3ND3R It's a bit of a weird one, because Bandai Namco is really good with localisation at the minute. It's throwing just about everything that it has Westwards.
Plus, Resurrection is on PS4 - seems like an obvious one to localise.
I have been on this site for years and have always had this question about software sells. Is the number in parentheses the total number of sales? Also, where do you get your statistical data from?
22K is cool. Hopefully it can stay over 20K in Japan each week to. The Xbox ONE is still a waste of space even with 'Halo 5: Micro(REQ)Transactions'
@iSillyBoiJudas For hardware, the number in brackets is the prior week's sales for comparison. For software, the number in brackets is the total amount of sales.
All of the numbers come from a Japanese analytical company called Media Create. 4Gamer (a Japanese website) gathers this data, and then Gematsu (an American website that generally translates Japanese news) translates everything. Then we get it all from them.
@Boerewors
MS has to try to keep up appearances in Japan because if they don't it doesn't give Japanese developers much incentive to make games for the platform. It's better to try to make it look like the company gives a sh*t (even if it really doesn't) as opposed to quitting. On top of that, MS is big enough and has enough money that it shouldn't have any problem spending to keep up appearances in Japan while also doing everything possible to build a stronger presence in other territories. This isn't a company in financial trouble like Sony was for a long time.
@TheHeroOfLegend
One person 'bashed' it, all the other talk was just about the low sale total and lets face it, 534 is pretty damn low. I also think the PS4 and Wii U sales are pretty putrid.
@Gamer83 True I guess
