RedLynx’s motorcycle franchise may have made its name on Microsoft platforms, but the latest entry in the property will have a slight visual edge on the PlayStation 4. Despite being the first title in the series to appear on a Sony system, the Finnish studio has confirmed that Trials Fusion will run at 1080p on the Japanese giant’s device, compared to just 900p on the Redmond-based manufacturer’s machine. Both versions will operate at 60 frames-per-second.
This disparity has, of course, been a common story for much of the generation thus far, with the meatier innards of Mark Cerny’s creation giving it the edge in the majority of multiformat face-offs. Call of Duty: Ghosts, for example, also ran at a much higher resolution on the PlayStation maker’s hardware, while Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition performed at double the framerate of its Xbox One counterpart.
As always, there’s a good chance that the average person won’t be able to tell the difference in this instance, and subsequently, we can't help but wonder whether it even matters at all. Still, at least if you were planning to get the PS4 edition, then you can rest safe in the knowledge that you'll almost certainly be riding away with the best version of the game. Personally, we’re just pleased to see the brand on PlayStation at last.

I don't like to gloat...It's tacky. However, I can't help but feel smug about the PS4 rubbing out the XBO again.
I really hope that games on PS4 will be 1080p till the end. =) Don't want to wake up one day and found out, that PS4 have become 720p.... I really like clean and accurate picture over some minor graphics improvements.
I am just happy about the 4 player modes With 3 friends this looks FUN Well o.k i am happy to that the PS4 version is better to + The Xbox ONE has to be ONE of the most undesirable Next-Gen Games Console of the past 20 years i think.
@Carl-G Its funny I was with a chatty girl this morning then she went, 'Do you know you can actually talk to to it? wow'. She was very happy about that.
XD
I loved playing trials on pc and 360 so I'm really glad they are releasing this on ps4. And yeah I do feel like I made the right choice getting ps4 before XBone for me it felt like a no brainer cheaper, more powerful and imo better exclusives and so far with ps4 getting the better quality games my decision feels justified
Well DX12 will help Xbone somewhat, but I get the feeling it'll hit the ceiling of what it can do by the end of the year. Unless the cloud computing turns out to be a real thing...
@KALofKRYPTON "cloud computing" has been around for a bit, but it's crazy to think it'll ever be reliable enough to supplement hardware throughput. Cloud servers are good because they have different jobs at day and night. But this inevitably means that players in different time zones will be competing for the same "resources." I think MS likes to b.s.
Is this real news or flame bait.
@Philson
I'm guessing then that you don't even bother with Nintendo consoles? In terms of power I'd say Wii was a massive disappointment for its time and with Wii U just being slightly more powerful than 360 and PS3 we're not exactly talking about a technical marvel. I actually like both those consoles, thought Wii had a better run from Nov. 2006 to the end of 2010 than people gave it credit for, but I don't like either machine for what they can do when it comes to raw power.
@shingi_70
I think it's relevant. These are two consoles going after similar segments of the market with many of the same games. During the last gen there were lots of debates about performance of multiplat games on 360 and PS3 and, especially at the start, many of those went in favor or MS' machine. This gen things are turned around. I think it's good to have these comparisons and discussions especially since a lot of people buy more than one console.
You're kidding, right? How is this news? Pretty much every single game this generation is going to have a slightly higher resolution or framerate on PS4 than Xbox One. Are we really going to get headlines for each and every one of them?
It's been the same story game after game after game. Either they're both 30/60fps and PS4 has slightly better resolution, or they're both 720/1080p and PS4 has slightly better framerate. No one is pretending the Xbox One is going to run pound for pound specswise. Even MS admits that. So, why the headlines?
I suggest just giving pertinant facts for Playstation, seeing as this is a PS site. If we want Xbox One specs, there is a separate fan site for news pertaining to MS consoles.
@Philson
Well, fair enough. I actually agree with you about the X1's hardware, that and the $100 price difference played a huge role in me picking the PS4 to be my first new-gen console back in November. I'm thinking my recently purchased Wii U is going to be getting the most use at least over the next few months though. PS4 aint got sh*t on the horizon except a 'remaster' of a game I already played the hell out of. At least it's getting games in 1080p, so I guess that's a 'win.'
@JaxonH
Truth is, these kind of articles always take place early in a new console cycle. They'll disappear eventually. The sooner Sony gets off its a$$ and instead of laying people off actually release good, first party exclusives, these kind of articles will go away and the focus will be on the PS4 actually being a good console. Right now it's an inFamous tv adapter and unfortunately as awesome as I think that game is, it's short as hell.
@Gamer83 indeed,i have only Infamous on PS4 so far,cant see much in the near future i will be getting,i will grab Mario Kart next month on the mighty Wii U
@Philson
If you've already played The Last of Us there definitely isn't much for PS4. I'm really hoping Watch Dogs surprises me and ends up being a good game, but my expectations have fallen so far from where they originally were. When it was revealed it seemed awesome, every showing since it has gotten progressively worse. That said, the concept remains cool and the story if done right could make for an intriguing release provided the gameplay is also solid. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
@Philson brother that was an awesome statement and your absolutely right. I've been gaming before the days I couldn't even spell controller and with this gen Xbone has disappointed the masses and its a shame. I have both the ps4 and the bone and I do prefer the ps4. The only reason I bought a bone was Killer Instinct, THAT'S IT, seriously, THAT'S IT. Long live gamers!
