Topic: Confusion on game upgrades

Hey all

I joined up to ask for some help as I'm a bit confused on a couple of things regarding purchasing games and upgrades!

First question - Terminator Resistance - if I buy the physical PS4 copy do I get the PS5 upgrade free with it?
I see there's a PS4 and PS5 physical and digital version!

Second question - I see the Hitman series is all under Hitman 3 now. I own 1 & 2 and only need 3 but the price is still showing as £60 in store. Do I have to buy it at that price for just the third one even though it includes the first 2 I already own?

Thank you for any help!

@Walrus_Slapper As far as the first question, I don’t know for sure but the website suggest that yes, the PS5 upgrade is free:

As for the Hitman question, I’m not sure. The integration and purchase of the three Hitman games is a real confusing mess, for sure. Perhaps @RogerRoger has knowledge of how to navigate it now that there’s the combo pack of all three games together. I’m in the same boat as you, where I own Hitman 1 and 2, but not 3. It seems like there was a convoluted way to get Hitman 3 on its own and then port the other two into Hitman 3 to play them all on the new engine, but I don’t know about now since the World of Assassination bundle exists.

@Walrus_Slapper Yeah, so Hitman III recently became Hitman: World of Assassination and includes all content from the previous two games by default now. Alas, this generosity has not been retroactively applied to copies of Hitman and Hitman 2. There is no "forward-facing" upgrade path to pay less for Hitman III. You're stuck buying a full copy of the game if you wanna access its content.

Unless you're playing on a PS5 Digital, I'd recommend looking for a cheap physical copy of Hitman III, which routinely goes for between £30 and £40 and is often included in sales for less. It doesn't matter that it's a disc-based copy; it'll convert itself to World of Assassination on install, free of charge.

Keep in mind that there's also an additional PSN purchase required to add the Season Pass DLC from Hitman 2 and Hitman III to World of Assassination.

Alas, and tagging @Th3solution here as well, your copies of the previous two games are kinda pointless now (unless you wanna play 'em as standalone PS4 games, of course).

Cheers both!

@Th3solution I went ahead and got Terminator for PS5 with the DLC in the sale in the end, so looking forward to trying it out!

@RogerRoger thanks for the explanation, I will look to grab a physical copy sometime soon.

@Walrus_Slapper Happy to help! I'll also throw an endorsement behind that Terminator game; it's real good fun, and the DLC is worthwhile, too. Hope you enjoy both!
