Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?

tomic20

for me the only problem is that because my ps5 isnt primary i cant play couch co-op games online (like sports games for example) with a second account in my console. i am paying ps plus almost exclusevily for the monthly games and because after all these year the library from the membership is big and needed from time to time. the thing i hate most with ps plus is that the discounts are not offered to current member, which is a disgusting tactic from sony.

Re: Halo PS5 Rumours Intensify in Aftermath of Forza Horizon 5 Reveal

i really don't care for any of the old ms games releases. The only interesting one for me is gears of war, but i have already played that on pc(same with ori). Sunset overdrive would be fine, but it would need a remake at this point. New gears game and new fable game will be a very welcome addition to the ps catalogue.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions

just the helldivers 2 ongoing success will probably pay for all the faiures and i guess that this was the plan anyway. For 1-2 games from all this that would stick. They were afraid that they will lose all the revenue from COD when they started all this, so it is pretty understadable. With MS going multiplatform now there isnt any reason to push for gaas. Hoping that there is still time to turn the ship before this generation ends.

Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

tomic20

@Kienda we agree 100%

also regarding sony's first party's discussion. I think that the first two years of ps5 were pretty good. 2023 was a bad one and if the upcoming showcase doesn't change the release schedule for the remaining of the year, 2024 could be even worse. I am fairly optimistic for 2025 though, they were silent for too long. But it is just speculation.

Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

@Kienda Sony has to increase the games that they are publishing, but just to note that the comparison with Nintendo is totaly wrong. Switch doesn't run anything else, except by first party games and indies. Sony is obliged to leave room to breath for third party publishers. They are making a lot money from them, but of course Sony's first party studio which right now are more and bigger than they ever were, has to produce and be sustainable by themselves.

Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

tomic20

@TrickyDicky99 You look at it entirely wrong. In live service games, you need all the people you can reach, if mobile was a possibility for this game it would be more than welcome for Sony.

Check the FY2023 Q3/ Supplemental Information (Page 9)
Network Services (which is for the ps plus). The subscribers are certainly down but their income increased since the increased the subscritption.

The last 5 years Sony is in it's best position in their history. They were losing money until the half of the life of PS4. Their revenue has increased in record numbers and they are making more money than they ever did. All the talk is because Nintendo is having more profit(much more) with less revenue(much less). But Sony is in healthy position. The second part in the lifetime of a successfull console, is always much more profitable than the first.

Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?

tomic20

@TrickyDicky99 profits from ps+ have been about 10-15% increased after the increase to the subscription price, so i would guess that sony is very happy with that. You can see that on the quarterly statements.

The first quarter of 2023, sony had a 200% increase on hardware sales in Europe from the same period in 2022, having one of the best years ever. A 25% decrease, with the announcements of ps5 pro so close, which many users wait before buying a new playstation now, it's practically nothing.

Sony had a great gaas success which they really werent even expecting with Helldivers and will certainly milk to death the coming years. Sony is fine.

Re: Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement Backtracked on PC After Brutal Review Bombing Campaign

tomic20

@Deityjester but they didnt make any change. it was clear before launch that a third party account was required to play the game. It wasn't hidden. They weren't ready to enforce it on launch because they prioritized to cover the huge demand that they weren't expecting. They didn't ask for money. A free signup that takes minutes to complete. We signup to forums, to youtube, to facebook, to pushsquare , the whole discussion that signing up for a game that you want to play is bad, is just stupid.

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

tomic20

i really don't understand the conversation on Spiderman budget. The game launched less than 6 months ago and already has made tremendous profits for Sony. At the end of it's cycle it will make far more. The same goes for Ragnarok and pretty much for all big AAA games that sony released until now. How come that this are the problem? Past console generations, the 3 first years there were always loses until they created the instal base to make money on the second half of the console's life cycle. This generation they made huge profits, more than ever in playstation history from day one. Sony is in the best position it ever was. The only thing that is happening, is that they regreted the turn to the gaas gaming, at least not on the scale that they were going initially.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Big PS5 Showcase to Take Place in Approximately Two Months

tomic20

Ps5 console launch was the best console launch ever. Practically all sony first party studios delivered with glorious results the past 3 years that ps5 is in the market. Right now except of Insomniac's Spiderman we do not know what any of the big Sony fp studios are doing. ND(beside factions), SM(the Barlog game), Bend, SP (tsushima 2?), Bluepoint, Housemarque,Pixelopus, Team Asobi, Insomniac's Wolverine, are getting to the 1.5 year release window, so most should be anounced in the summer show. We also should get release dates for third party colaborators like Project: The Perceiver, Death Stranding 2, Ueda's new game, Helldivers 2. The big Cyga games(Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Project Awakening). Maybe for the Pearl Abyss games(Crimson Desert, DokeV, Plan 8). Also Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. And of course all the GAAS games that they are planning like the Horizon MP, Factions 2, Deviation, Haven, Firewalk, London studio, Firesprite (twisted metal) new games, something new from Bungie all should be presented soon.
It has the potential to be huge for Sony.

Re: Talking Point: What PS1, PS2, and PSP Games Do You Want on PS Plus Premium?

tomic20

though i dont care at all for retro games, some of which i would want for the other people to try are:
psx: crash bash, crash team racing
ps2: godhand, Ico, Tenchu
ps3: Asura's Wrath, nba street, Earthworm Jim HD

there are games like ninja gaiden , okami or vanquish that i would like to see the ps4 remastered versions to the service and not the original.
