Re: Prince of Persia Remake and 5 Other Games Cancelled by Ubisoft

timbo87

“Stop development” is an interesting choice of words. Yes for our purposes SoTR is cancelled, and tbh while a massive disappointment Ubi needs to get its sh! together and focus. Maybe they’re leaving the door open to revisit it at a later date. But damn it better be a shadow drop with none of this leak business – to edge the fans for 5 years just to cancel it’s a real middle finger regardless of it being the best decision. I wonder if AC4 remake has been cancelled too. Embracing Ai is also a massive ick, especially when people are losing jobs. Ubisoft really needs to work hard to establish its integrity again – hopefully this drastic a decision helps. Feel really sorry for the people losing jobs.

Re: The Sands of Time Are Running Out on Prince of Persia's PS5 Remake Shadow Dropping Today

Ubisoft really is a mess atm, or at least it feels that way from an outsider looking in. What was its last release, that government funded expansion for mirage? Then before that shadows? And besides that a mess of rumours and “leaks” about both this and the Black Flag remake, and Ubisoft not commenting on anything. Hexe seems MIA, they are doing a mobile AC no one wants, and haven’t they been acquired by Tencent because they’ve had all these financial woes? And don’t even mention the industry joke that is BG&E 2. Yikes.

Re: Cronos: The New Dawn Update Will Add a New, Easier Difficulty Setting in Early 2026

@SeaDaVie 100% agree. FFXVI was easy and I loved every minute of it. Rise of the Rōnin I played on easy, loved every minute of it. And have fond memories of both. Demon’s Souls I have fond memories of too. LifeGirl is just being too broad like they usually do with their comments. I think people would say hard games are more memorable to justify punishing themselves and spending so much time to gitgud. Life has way more nuance and experience is individual. More game makers adding easier difficulty levels allows more people to have their own experiences – a very good thing!

Re: 'Increasingly Selective Consumers' to Blame for Underperformance of Blades of Fire

It looked to me like Temu God of War. Also the main antagonist looks like a reject from the 1990s Power Rangers.

I’m also not that interested in a forging mechanic as the main angle of the game. And I have created main characters that looked less generic than the one in this game.

Idk man I guess customers are increasingly selective which is why new IPs usually try to stand out in some way. But hey your game has its own wiki so I guess there were some people who enjoyed it?

Re: Stunning Final Fantasy 9 Artwork Revealed as Rumoured Remake Date Fast Approaches

I don’t get the hate with FFVIIR, is it the bloat? Or the whispers & story changes? I only have played the remake and it’s far and away one of my favourite games period. I started with VIII – which I would love a VII style remake of – and I loved IX. I agree it doesn’t need much more than fresh coat of paint, some QOL changes like battle speed and maybe some decent voice acting. Anyway bring on the 7th… I’d just be happy with up res’d backgrounds and better UI tbh.

@matekomlosi interesting seeing people’s different takes. I loved it, and sunk over 200 hours into it. It definitely had moments of meh graphics but also moments that were gorgeous. Also it was so damn fun to play. It’s not perfect by any stretch but for me a solid 8/10.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Support Could Be Over Already as Patch 5 Drops on PS5

I must admit personally I find articles around sales of games kinda meh as it never sways my impression versus a review, but I get why it’s being brought up considering the discourse around the title. I just hope resources that would have been used for DLC will get funnelled into making ME5 the best it can be.

Also there would 100% have been a post-release plan for DLC etc, every other DA title got it so why would this one be different? From everything I saw the poor storyline and even the average script really hurt the game (DEI is a whole other matter) and I personally dislike the change in character design to semi-dreamworks cartoon style. Again hopefully BioWare learns and does better on ME5.
