Sigh. This 'story' has now been pushed to my RSS feed six times, and its not the first this has happened. Half your 'stories' now appear to be click bait or filler, not actual news just rumour and conjecture. Sad, as I do enjoy your actual articles at times, but I'm removing the feed.
@Sladey69 Kind of was though as I was buying Gold anyway. And for only £33 during one of the uPlay sales I'm pretty sure I will get more-than-full value out of AC:O alone, even if I never touch the remaster.
I had reached peak AC fatigue when AC3 came out so that, plus the slightly negative reviews about its aggressive hand-holding meant I never looked at it, even when it was a freebie on PS+.
I now have the remaster as a freebie after picking up Odyssey Gold a few weeks back. I'd like to give it a go, but given I am only 42% complete on AC:O after 52 hours, plus the fact they don't seem to have addressed the hand-holding in this remaster, I have a feeling I may not get around to it yet again.
Once/if they add VR support for this I'll get it straight away. That was the best bit of the original. Nailing a corner up Pikes Peak in the super slidey starter car had me feeling like Colin McRae every time (until inevitably messing up the next)
@Shepherd_Tallon @Hengist I'll give you £20
I'm annoyed I sold my PS3 Move starter pack including one wand when I moved to PS4 ... it sold for £12.77 !!
Anyone know if its possible to see the types of stats they show for any game? I'd really like to know how many hours I've played on some games (Red Dead 2 must be getting close to top) ... but when I first got my PS4 my whole family used my account so the most hours and rarest trophy are all games I have never actually played myself - Minecraft, Battlefront, Terraria and Singstar
@Lando Jealous - how did you get it a day early? Mine arrives tomorrow but I'm too busy over the weekend and first half of next week to be able to set it up yet
Anyone know somewhere in the UK to preorder the Pro version yet? Aside from GAME as they seem to be bundling it with an overpriced headset I don't want, but they are the only ones I have found so far
By the logic in the article you can already get a Pro for £300 or less if you wait for a deal. I picked one up for £330 last month from Tesco and it came with Fallout 4, Doom, Dishonoured 2 and Uncharted:TLL free. Sold all those games for £50 minus eBay fees
Any actual rumours or facts about playstation savings, or is this just pure speculation at this point? I don't have Prime at the moment, but have been thinking about getting a PS4Pro ... if there is any concrete evidence that console deals will be available I might sign up
At times Sony is just user hostile. I very much doubt you will be able to re-order the apps so the ones you use are always on the front page. On the old system (and, it appears from the screenshot, on the new too) the Amazon app is always listed first, yet I have never installed it let alone used it, whereas the ones I use daily are always placed further down the list.
No, because tesco failed to get it to me on launch day. On the other hand their pre-order price was only £35 so I can bear to wait another day (hopefully no more than that, fingers crossed for the post tomorrow)
@fisher that's quite a long way off topic. Anyhow, HDMI1.4 does not support 4k at 60FPS with the full colour range possible. Given the ps4pro supports HDR I'm going to assume that this requires HDMI2.0, but I haven't fact-checked (hell we're in a post-truth world now, what would be the point). I'd make sure to have at least one HDMI2.0 input on any new TV you buy
Must say I am interested in PS VR, but am not going to buy before i try, and am not going to pay to try.
Spent five minutes signing up on that trypsvr site, answering ridiculous questions, and picking a password with requirements not even needed by my place of work, and when it finished all it said was they'll let me know when a trial is coming up near me.
Might have helped them if one of the questions they'd asked is where I am, rather than have me rate whether I feel more lonely, curious, fearful or bored while playing games?
It's worth keeping an eye on Tesco Direct, they have a £10 off voucher code if you spend over £75 and also occasionally do 2 for £80 on preorders. Combined it means you get two games for £35 each. I used it for batman and uncharted last year and ordered Last Guardian and Horizon Zero Dawn last week
Pretty much agree with everything above. £50 to buy it off PSN, with no ability to refund or trade it in, vs. £45 from Amazon or the local supermarket on release day, then sell it for £40 if you play it for a couple of days and find its not for you or want to switch to the PC version (as I did). I still don't understand why anyone buys off PSN unless its a serious sale, and even then my last dealing with Sony's support when something I bought wasn't downloadable (a couple of SingStar songs for my partner, took them over a month to sort out) means I hesitate to even do that now.
Its very pretty, but the FOV seems tiny and I'm struggling with it. I might dump the PS4 copy and get the PC version, which is confirmed to have a FOV slider
@get2sammyb @Bad-MuthaAdebisi $30/£25 is actually not a bad price for a universal remote. Unlike the PS3 controller, which was BD only and so could only control the PS3, if this one contains both IR and BD and is able to control the TV and Freeview boxes as well as the volume on the soundbar then excellent.
I'm OK with the companion app for Black Flag - it has its issues, but it gives me a way of playing the fleet mini-game at points when I have a bit of time available but am nowhere near the Playstation to play the main game
@Splat
"I will never understand peoples strong hate for digital..."
Its not a hate for digital, its a hate for the price - why should digital be more expensive than retail. The first sentence of the article was a bit misleading, but the rest of it was all about price. Why buy a game from PSN for £55 when you can buy from Amazon for £42 (those are today's prices for GTA V just as an example). Plus I can sell the disc once I've finished with it.
"I do agree that price is an issue on older games buy day one is the same"
It really isn't usually. Batman pre-order: PSN £55 vs. Amazon £44
I'll agree that PS+ deals are often good, but those are for games that have been out for longer and you're still more often likely to beat the PSN price if you shop about
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Cheers for that.
Been interested in getting one for remote play for a while, but seemed a bit pricey just for that. See its still £55 on Amazon, but might swing by Smyths on the way home now
EDIT: their website says £45 though - you see the cheaper price in store??
There's always the fear though, after it happening in the past, that a problem will be introduced by a firmware update itself. I need to go root through the settings and see if there's a way to disable automatic updating without also disabling the other automatic stuff like save-game syncing - I'd rather spend a few minutes waiting for a manually initiated update to complete a day or two after its release after seeing no reports of problems than have it auto-applied and break something.
@Jonny £80(ish)? Not too bad and nowhere near as much as a decent PC.
Have just had a quick scan through ebuyer and there's not a huge price difference between 2.5" and 3.5" 2TB drives - maybe the 3.5"s can be had for £10-20 cheaper. I doubt the price of this add on will be able to justify itself unless one feels the need for even more capacity now that 3.5" drives up to 6TB are available.
As well as not being any cheaper, there's hardly anything there at the moment. Definitely needs to catch up with the US version - in the last few weeks there have been some pretty good deals available on amazon.com - GTA V or Black Flag for the equivalent of £20 for example
They could release it over here with just You Tube and iPlayer apps and grow the services over time with updates. Every single comment I've read on this thing has been positive so I'm pretty sure that with just those plus the ability to play Vita games and do Cross Play it would still sell very well.
If they want to stop us moving on to the Disney offering they need to either find a way to make the new figures work with the existing portal or make it cheaper. There's no way I'll be spending £50-60 for yet another 'starter pack' given the steep cost of the characters - they need to make the most of the existing buy-in their customers have, not push them away.

While its not a specific Black Friday deal you can get the LBP3 PS4 bundle with a download code for TLOU for £299.99 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PS4-Console-LittleBigPlanet/dp/B00NNKYRJE
