Sony's gone ahead and officially slashed the price of the PlayStation TV in the UK after the diminutive device failed to have any sort of real impact on the market.
When it launched back in November of last year, the tiny console retailed for £84.99, so if you've been an interested consumer, but you've ended up waiting it out for a few months, then congratulations – you've got yourself a bit of a bargain.
Now costing just £44.99 at the time of writing, we reckon that it's a decent little deal, especially if you can make good use of its PlayStation 4 Remote Play streaming, and don't already own a PlayStation Vita.
Have you already snapped up a PlayStation TV? Are you tempted to purchase one now? Marvel at its eternally sleek design in the comments section below.

Yeah no. It would be an irresistible replacement...
If all the important titles were compatible.
No thanks, don't think I need it with my ps4 vita combo
I really wanted one when it came out, then found out no Netflix, and said no thanks. Was going to use it to remote play ps4 in my bedroom, with the occasional Netflix duties, now I think I'm all set. Though if it's 50$ here in the US, I could justify having it sit in my living room so long as I can use a ds4 and not a ds3.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Cheers for that.
Been interested in getting one for remote play for a while, but seemed a bit pricey just for that. See its still £55 on Amazon, but might swing by Smyths on the way home now
EDIT: their website says £45 though - you see the cheaper price in store??
£45 is an absolute bargain. It's cheaper than a game If you've been considering one & you don't get one now at that price, your bonkers.
@BigDaddyT0101 yeah you can use a DS4 on the PS TV
Got one at Christmas. Oh well...
It's a great little device for proper local remote play with a DS4 controller
I would if it only had Netflix. I'm over it tho, I feel like it is going to be in the clearance aisle along with the vita shortly. I hate to say it, but I think Sony may quit the handheld market after the ps vita debacle. I loved my Vita, I wish a few million other people did too.
Well worth it!
To qualify that; TXK on your TV is what dreams are made of. Also, if you have a vita you can do ad hoc local multiplayer
I actually bought two when they first came out. I use them both regularly for remote play in my other rooms. Works great! I alsohave a separate PS3 on three different tv's in my house too. This is way better than having to buy multiple consoles.
I'm so tempted!
Bought it On Friday and I regret it already. €55 in Smyths. Most of my vita games don't work and Sony hasn't updated anything since it was launched. So I guess they have abandoned it already? 5 months later?
Such a great idea but as always, Nintendo just did it better with the gameboy player 15 years ago. Wish Ninty did something like this for the 3ds on the WiiU.
Really wanted to play Uncharted on this thing, first party title and it doesn't play? Disgraceful.
