I don't care about vibration function and adaptive triggers, I care about gyro aiming. Will it have gyro aiming? Shooting games without it are entirely unplayable with a controller for me now that I've gotten used to how awesome it is in BotW, HZD Remastered, etc.
Honestly it feels like this generation has barely started. I don't remember it happening like this before. I just counted and so far I've played seven PS5 games that aren't available on PS4. Two of them are indie games made by a single developer with limited resources, which explains why there's no PS4 version (Animal Well and Blue Prince). Two of them were just not very good (The Plucky Squire and LEGO Horizon Adventures) so really, technically, that leaves three solid AAA games that my PS5 has given me (Astro Bot, Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart). There are a few games I care about that I haven't played yet (like Spider-Man 2) and there are a few that I probably would have played on PS5 if I didn't have a PC (like Split Fiction) but still, the numbers are LOW.
This is insane. Old tech is supposed to decrease in price as it becomes easier to manufacture, not increase. Have console price increases within a generation ever happened before? Maybe they did and I just didn't notice. Either way, I'm definitely noticing this time.
I did pick up a copy, thanks for asking. I wish it was a better game, but aside from that, it's exactly the kind of game that I want. I was super-excited (and a bit confused) from the moment I saw the announcement. Forget what everybody else wants, sometimes I do get nice things. The fact that everything is actually made out of Lego, and the plastic doesn't bend, puts all other Lego games to shame. The graphics, and more importantly the color scheme and general art direction, are amazing. I'm a big fan of Horizon Zero Dawn (specifically, the mystery and the slow reveal of the truth - it's everything that Lost wasn't - but the world and killing the robots is cool too). Overall it's totally the game for me.
But yeah, I read a bunch of reviews before purchase. I knew what I was getting into. Game's not that great. I'm going through it slowly, savoring what I like and ignoring the rest.
@somnambulance No, it literally isn't compatible with 8K output. Nothing a game can do about it. The "8K" game people are talking about just renders at 8K internally and then downsamples to 4K for output.
Oh, I thought Fairgame$ was the name of the developer. I really wasn't paying much attention, looked like extreme junk either way. Why does everything have to completely undermine itself by trying to be both serious and a joke at the same time?
Ratchet and Clank is "really really good"? It's got very nice graphics and yeah, it's not half bad, but you might need to get out more. How many reallys do you use for something like Mario Odyssey? Rift Apart is entirely decent.
@KaijuKaiser Good on you for getting out early - I struggled to the end, took me 108 hours. Months and months of real world time. For the whole time I was just barely enjoying myself enough to keep playing. Apparently Royal is even longer. And some people have played both!
Oh Immortals Fenyx Rising was just added? I tried to play it last night but it said you need to sign in with a Ubisoft account. The hell I do; uninstalled. That sort of thing is only ever OK if the game is free. I was just barely willing to play a Ubisoft game at all, but if they don't even want me to then that's fine by me.
How does a no-name studio have $160 million to spend on making a game? Why, before worrying about building something "AAAA" quality, did they not make sure the concept of the game was really good? I wasn't particularly interested because it just seemed like another generic shooter. Then the reviews seemed weak so. Idiots; I trust they've learned their lessons.
The "ahead of its time" argument doesn't hold up because there's no experience you can have with TLOUP1 that you couldn't have had with TLOU on a PS3 in 2013. If "ahead of its time" just means that ideally the game would have had better graphics, then pretty much every game ever made is ahead of its time.
There's no way in which TLOUP1 is "definitive" and TLOU isn't. Both will look like complete ass in 20 years. The original was a full-budget AAA experience with no corners cut; you can't get more definitive than that.
Well that's fine, but money where your mouth is mate. Where's TLOU 2, Rift Apart, and even Forbidden West? Without those this "6-12 months" is fairly meaningless.
If it's already on Steam, being on PC Game Pass isn't a very big deal. When it's on console Game Pass that will be more interesting.
Also: it's absolutely hilarious (and tragic...) that there are people who think a game coming to more platforms is a negative thing. I'll leave it at that. Sincerely, someone who owns a PS5, an XSX, a Switch and a PC.
All I want is to be able to disable those stupid spoiler cards that pop up when you press the home button. I have it set to no spoilers, doesn't make any difference. I only ever use that menu to enter rest mode so I just have it in muscle memory and close my eyes.
I've never even had PS Plus and I still hate this. Every time I download a free demo, or a free media app, or claim some sort of giveaway, "Thank You For Your Purchase". All the mini heart attacks I've had surely add up to one big one by now.

Re: Sony Refunding Players Confused by The Last of Us 2 Remastered PS5 Upgrade Path
This isn't gesture of goodwill, it's simply working around a bug. The store shouldn't let anyone who owns the original pay $50 for the remaster.
Also, what about people who own a physical copy of the PS4 version? Out of luck?
Re: Call of Duty: Warzone Shutting Down on 21st September Across PS5, PS4
Easy come, easy go. It just reinforces my decision to never play any online game.

@rjejr There is nothing called PS Extra or PS Premium. Essentials, Extra and Premium are the three levels of PS Plus.

@add286 That's exactly why they didn't tell you.

You mean the only new perk. I'm not interested in Premium but it has slightly more going for it than just this one demo.
