@ILikeStake The secrets are largely collectibles, so if you don't care it might be fine to just find what you would naturally find and that's it, but for what it's worth Remedy is one of the best in the biz when it comes to collectibles. One of the only devs where I actually listen to and read anything and everything I can find! They have a devilish sense of humor! Some of the secrets are tied to unlocks and abilities too! Might be worth a secret guide at least for some of the bigger things!
@vapidwolf I didn't say it was bad so much as just not as impressive as I've seen it in other games, the stuff that Remedy did do is very much welcome! I think Sony buying Remedy would be awesome! They're my favorite dev in all of gaming, but they've historically heavily valued their freedom, so I'd imagine they'd do their damndest to stay independent. And just find publishers on a game by game basis. Like 505 for Control. I would love to see Sony lend a hand and get a new Alan Wake made though!
@Gmork___ It's not great. Base PS4 it struggles to hit 30, and on the Pro it...struggles to hit 30, but slightly less often haha
@Hopewell The app explicitly tells you which version you sent to your console I think. At least the US version of the app. I don't know if that's for all games or only devs that include that distinction though!
@Elodin Even though the PS4 version was my game of the year when it came out, I definitely recommend you hold out. Make sure you add the game to your account and then just hope you find one! The PS5 version is better by such a degree that I think the wait's worth it!
@MrSands Still more or less a mess. This version already existed on the PS4, it's just the regular game with all the DLC far as I know, all the changes are on the PS5 version
@wiiware Given how stable it runs, honestly that wouldn't surprise me!
@r3dman21 Yeah I agree 100% . It looks noticeably better cuz of the ray tracing, but the gameplay of the game makes that 60FPS mode a lot more important in my mind!
@Max2574 honestly might still be worth revisiting! The PS5 version is huge step up from the original version!
@ShaiHulud Couldn't agree more! The signage in Control is absolutely perfect. Anytime I had no idea where I was and needed to know where to go, pretty much guaranteed the sign I needed was in sight!
@GhostInAJar Oh what? This is the first game for PS5 I've played where the DualSense implementation underwhelmed me. A lot of the other games I've played, the ones where utilizing its features made sense, I was blown away!
@danlk1ng @Voltan The PS5 version runs on a newer iteration of the engine Remedy used for Control, so it's almost definitely because some of the data has been more effectively compressed and such.
@Odium The map has been changed from the PS4 day 1 version, but it's still, it's still kinda rough. It's a headache to navigate haha
@JJ2 Very quick, could toggle in the menu super fast without having to reload or anything!
@JapaneseSonic I'm not Liam, but you're welcome
@Total_Weirdo It's not so much that it's poor as it's just not as noticeable. Some of the other shooters I've played with it have blown me away with the stuff they do with the triggers for example. Control doesn't really do much
@AFCC I used to a long long time ago! Around Assassin's Creed 2, Far Cry 3, I loved the format then, but I got more and more sick of it as it went along before I more or less just gave up on their open-world games haha. I just don't have the interest to play that format from Ubisoft anymore. I do play Rainbow Six: Siege basically every day though!
@AFCC I'd probably play it before either of Watch Dogs or Valhalla haha. I'm not super keen on the whole "Ubisoft Open World Game" thing though. I think the last one of those type-a Ubisoft games I played was the first Division? It's been a bit haha
@AFCC luckily, the game didn't have too much of a ui, so it didn't interfere with getting really nice pictures! Not really being able to pause definitely did though haha.
Ooo, care to share the link to your insta? I'd love to check those out! What was your first post?
@Kienda The problem there's mostly just a copyright quagmire haha. Gotta be careful about which pictures you can and can't use for stuff like this, and of course, the devs want their stuff to look as good as possible, so there's a more narrow number of ones that could be used like this. I guess in theory we could probably take our own screenshots though haha
@AFCC Definitely impressed with how well the combat gels with the rest of the game since boss fights are the only moments with actual combat haha. They're incredible. And yeah, that final fight is on a while different level! I use the screenshot mode (I wish the game itself had a mode too) to grab a ton of shots during that! It looks amazing!
@AFCC It's soooooooo good!!!! Even a couple months after the game launched now, honestly I still think about that fight a few times a week! It's absolute perfection!!!!
@Party_Cannon Definitely not a game in the traditional sense that's for sure. There are a couple of moments here and there in it that are a little more traditional, but yeah, almost all of the gameplay is just walking, definitely easy to see it not appealing to everyone. Very, very easy haha
@Kidfried My personal #1 easy!
@Thrillho I listen to this soundtrack a ton when I'm not gaming! A few other ones too, but this one definitely gets a lot of airtime! Glad so many other people have been getting something out of KR0 too!
@nessisonett I am extremely excited for that console version! Been holding out for ages for that!
@Jimmer-jammer
@Warspite2901 Is that what it's on sale for right now? Okay yeah, wow. Definitely worth!
@PhhhCough Nah Switch is totally fine. Big screen matters less than being in the right mood I'd say. Like, don't play it on the bus, but other than that, should be fine!
@NickTheGeek Just let us shake our sticks angrily at the sky! But yeah, honestly either a full team of friends or a mostly full team of friends is pretty much the only way to play this game at this point
@Sam-Bridges We can dream right? It's been 5 years so they probably won't but I definitely wish they would
@HeroYoshiko It's so so so so much worse now than it was then for that haha
@Grumps859 Completely with you! I just don't understand the motivation to cheat. I just don't see how someone could possibly get anything from it!
@Gmork___ I didn't though? Telling people what kinds of cheating happen aren't the same as offering a detailed breakthrough of how to actually accomplish it
Yeah, as much as I love the game, honestly I think I'll just warn you away from it haha. It's not worth it!
@LieutenantFatman I dunno about password lobbies, but there are private matches. The problem there would be that there's just no matchmaking system in place for that, and the stats don't carry forward or count for anything. I'm pretty sure it has no impact on progression. I guess it coulda changed though. Haven't used it in a while!
@StylesT Yeah, Warzone is a whole different can of worms! Different forms of cheating, but it's no less frustrating. I just don't get it. I don't get how winning or having a higher KD unfairly can possibly be as satisfying or fulfilling as actually winning. It just doesn't make sense
@hondo Oof. Solo que? I'm so sorry! You're braver than I!
@NickTheGeek (Replying to your first comment) Twitchers 🤣 I guess every group has their own names haha. When we run into them we just say they have "really good gaming chairs". Or "thumbstick extenders"
I still play and love the AAA stuff. TLOU2 was nearly on here. But every year, almost always I feel like the smaller games like this are the ones that stick with me for way longer!
I can't wait for Hades to inevitably hit a Playstation. I've wanted to play it for so long! Love Supergiant so much!
@Party_Cannon HOW DARE YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION.
Nah, if there was ever a game that I love where I could "get it" if someone hated or didn't like it, Kentucky Route Zero is probably top of that list haha. KR0 isn't really a "game" by traditional standards. I don 't know if I'd even call it "fun" myself haha. That's not really why I like the experience, but going in expecting it to be something else, and then it's...well what KR0 is, believe me i Get it!
@Akimi Yeah the personal list is always an article I really look forward to doing each year. They're super fun, and a great chance to talk about some of the smaller games like you said! Especially because that's usually where my tastes land anyways haha
@Jimmer-jammer <3 That means a lot! Gah, I love it so much. Absolutely every single piece of it feels like Cardboard Computer crafted it specifically to cater to me and I love it! I'm not gonna spoil anything, but there's a secret interlude after you finish Act 5 too!
@BowTiesAreCool I was not expecting to love Astro's Playroom as much as I did lol. I think I ended up Platinuming it in one sitting? It was great!
@AFCC Me too! I was already quite enjoying it, but that first chase sequence really sealed the deal. I don't usually enjoy boss fights all that much, but I loved the boss encounters in this!
Super disappointed with the way this whole thing was handled, especially given how great the game is I do really wanna check out the next-gen version of it though. Maybe get it used or something to not support the practice!
@Wormold Yeah in scenarios where the differing performance is of particular note, it'll definitely still come up. Think more like Cyberpunk haha. We've got explicit comparisons of all the versions for that one!
@glassmusic Supposed to be live today, I know it is in NA, and 7.99, not sure about the specifics outside of that though. Not yet at least haha
@hookedWORM17 Ehhhhh, not terribly. The puzzles aren't quite as involved as in Gorogoa, this has a similar balance of tones narratively though I'd say! And yay, someone else who played Gorogoa!!!! One of my favs of the generation!!!
@Breekhead I was reminded of Florence multiple times while playing!
@RogerRoger Since I took so long to reply I'm also gonna try n avoid spoilers haha. There's been a lot of stuff that I hate a lot haha. The amount of fan service is absolutely killing me. BUT. All of the fan-service stuff is being done brilliantly if I'm being honest. I still like it all even while I'm rolling my eyes. The Filoni directed episode, in particular, was very very very very well executed!!! Given what we see later this season your guess on the Spurs was actually right! Which makes it even weirder that I thought it was the Marshall who they also then introduced this season haha. Yeah, those books are....not good. Book 1 was really bad, 2 and 3 were a little better but overall I'd say hard pass even with all the important info in them. We do have that Bad Batch trailer to think about now! And seriously Cad Bane popping up in there would be great. The animated shows seem pretty good about that stuff too. Like Hondo! And the... Andor show....and the other 19 projects they announced. I can't say I'm explicitly excited for most of it, but it's not like I'm not gonna watch it!
Ahhh okay. Sideshow I do know, but Hot Toys I'd never heard of! Anytime I've ever seen any of those sideshow statues I've been extremely impressed. They look insanely good! The only Sidehosw statue I have is Malgus from the old republic collectors edition. At least I think that was them?
Mandalore is flat, but at least there's color...sometimes? Ish haha. I just find them super dull. Anything anyone could have said or done with a desert was covered in the first movie , and Lawrence of Arabia haha. And the Brendan Fraser mummy. Time to move on! Agreed, season 2 has been better about distinguishing which place was where! Also the big "Boba" episode, did you catch the name of the planet?!?!? That was one of the fanservice things I was SUPER okay with!
Disney made sure he stopped doing that real quick! Which I guess sure, it's not very professional to do that, but I agree with him, so it's okay this time. And it's just really funny!
I was impressed with how they managed to sidestep that issue as well! It was a clever workaround even if the final product was troubling. You must have loved that new Mass Effect trailer reveal at the game awards then 🤣. Oh god I totally forgot about some of the DLC being exclusive!!! Didn't they "fix" that when they released the trilogy package? Each version of that had different DLC but I thought you could go buy it after that?
Yeah, I can't recommend utilizing 3D audio enough! It's kinda like VR, which makes sense since that's where it first started popping up. In that it's tricky to articulate without experiencing yourself, but it's so so great! Definitely one of the bigger new features since the graphical leap is so much smaller than usual!
Neither Moore or Connery hit terribly hard if I'm being honest. OUtside of losing a great actor tied to a character I'm fond of anyway. And a more general loss of life of course. What DID hit me excruciatingly hard, and still is, was Alex Trebeck Between his love hockey (which I'm obsessed with BTW, we've exchanged so many comments I genuinely can't remember if I brought that up!) and how much I love Jeopardy, It hurts a lot. How popular is Jeopardy in the UK? I'm not sure how significant Alex Trebeck's cultural impact is or was across the ocean!
@RogerRoger Well that's a cruel kind of evil. Because i'd be almost obligated to play it
I've never explicitly thought about IO doing it, but I've never spent much time with Hitman (outside of watching friends play it), but after seeing the trailer my initial reaction was "oh, duh!" kinda like the Insomniac Spiderman announce originally. It just seems like such a natural home run!
I didn't design, my buddy founded the site designed it, and did an outrageously amazing job if I'm, being honest. I wrote a whole mess of the launch day content and I'm leading the writing team!
Hoping to see a PS5 pop up on your name at some point too! I haven't played a ton of actual next-gen stuff yet. A little bit of a few things. I wanna play SpiderMan but after all the news about it bricking PS5's and the fact it did break the PS5 entirely once already, I'm staying way the hell away from that until it's fixed. The fact that it hasn't been yet is...troubling...I did actually finish COD hahha. It's short even by COD standards. Maybe...4 hours? 5? It wasn't very good...lol. The Pathless, the game I was most hyped for its by far my favorite so far! It's lovely!!!!!
Those LAN parties I remember it being horrifically unbalanced haha. We used to play a lotta slappers only, cuz of how cool the blade melee was. Assassin's Creed stole it!Yeah consistency on branding has been a problem for Star Wars. Especially anyimte a movie comes along and wants to sell a new Star Destroyer toy or something so it's like "look, this ship happened in between the Venator and Victory classes, we just never ever saw one before because they were fighting in a different region!" they've been pulling the same damn thing basically since Empire. Super Star Desrtroyer!
Oh "indie-trash" is by no means how I'd describe it haha. I see comments like that all the time, usually when the new PS+ games get announced haha. Yeah Star Wars is the ultimate indie trash!!! I always heard about Peaks but didn't start trying to watch until early high school, i loved immediately and kept loving the more times I rewatched it. By the time I started taking film courses in college I was already completely obsessed! Fire Walk With Me is stellar. My favorite Lynch film by far, with Blue Velvet a distant 2nd. "The Return" is complicated haha. If I had to give a simple overall feeling, I love it. But there are lots of asterisks haha. That 8th episode is one of the single greatest hours of television ever committed to film though! Second only to maybe the Twin Peaks pilot haha. How do you feel bout the return? That's the exact reason I wanted to play Virginia!!! I reviewed that for Push Square actually. Life is Strange too come to think of it. Season 1 anyway haha.
@Dan_ozzzy189 Unfortunately it wouldn't really matter too much. Level becomes pretty meaningless once you hit a certain point, although I guess it is tied to renown, which you use to get new characters and cosmetics and such. You know, that'd probably be enough for at least some people!
@BowTiesAreCool Cheating in different ways of course, but from the bit of research I've done into it, it's depressingly easy if you do choose to do it
@Jaz007 Yeah cuz friendly fire does have a place in the game (an important one if you ask me) but of course the community has to ruin that haha
@NickTheGeek Yeah! Lots of accounts that literally say "smurf" in the name too! Or just a sequence of random numbers. 2 or 3 per lobby practically every game!
As for the TK scale that tracks that for you, I actually really like that!
@nessisonett For real. There are so many instances where if you don't have the full context or the voice chat to help inform why someone knows to do something, it looks like cheating. Which makes it look like absolutely everyone is cheating sometimes!
@Constable_What It's my pleasure! You can't get kicked out at all now! They had to remove that feature altogether because of...you guessed it...abuse. TK's have more stringent punishment now, but it's still very much a problem, though it's absolutely better than it once was.
@KippDynamite Honestly, it's the right call. I love the game in a way I've never loved others, but at the same time, any friends who are curious about the game, I tend to warn them away from it at this point haha.
@nessisonett You can brag about your really good stats that you didn't get honestly. Totally worth it! Who cares about playing honestly, I want a good KD!
@Stevenfins Honestly, not really noticing might be better, once you start noticing the tells, it becomes kinda depressing to play, because of how often you see it! Weirdly I've found that ranked is less toxic now! If you play with a squad of friends. It matches you with like-level players better, because of the insane number of smurf accounts out there now!
@Constable_What I walked away from it for a few months a little after Operation Health, but when I returned I got sucked back in, so be careful! Yeah working with a group of friends, this is the single most rewarding gaming experience I've had in life! But the community is so, so unbelievably terrible!
And cheers! It'd be dishonest to not at least address the cheating! It's baked into the experience at this point...
@ATaco very glad my group of friends doesn't really enjoy any of that, we just don't get it. I don't get why winning by cheating is fun. Who cares if you won, you yourself didn't really win. It just seems so pointless and unsatisfying to me, but so many people seem to do it, it's nuts!

@Wormold It's gonna be a good time!
@hypnotoad Tough choice between those 2 for me, but they're both so good! And Audica!
Re: Game of the Year: #10 - The Pathless
@AFCC The final boss fight was one of my favorite boss fights ever, if not my favorite!!!!! Lemme know what you think of that once you get there haha
Re: Game of the Year: #10 - The Pathless
@AFCC Me too! I was already quite enjoying it, but that first chase sequence really sealed the deal. I don't usually enjoy boss fights all that much, but I loved the boss encounters in this!
Re: Control Ultimate Edition Levitates to PS Store on 2nd February, Features Graphical Options
Super disappointed with the way this whole thing was handled, especially given how great the game is I do really wanna check out the next-gen version of it though. Maybe get it used or something to not support the practice!
Re: When the Past Was Around - A Loving Embrace in Game Form
@Wormold Yeah in scenarios where the differing performance is of particular note, it'll definitely still come up. Think more like Cyberpunk haha. We've got explicit comparisons of all the versions for that one!
Re: When the Past Was Around - A Loving Embrace in Game Form
@glassmusic Supposed to be live today, I know it is in NA, and 7.99, not sure about the specifics outside of that though. Not yet at least haha
@hookedWORM17 Ehhhhh, not terribly. The puzzles aren't quite as involved as in Gorogoa, this has a similar balance of tones narratively though I'd say! And yay, someone else who played Gorogoa!!!! One of my favs of the generation!!!
@Breekhead I was reminded of Florence multiple times while playing!
Re: Mini Review: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - A Wonderful Treasure from Star Wars' Glory Days
Re: Mini Review: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - A Wonderful Treasure from Star Wars' Glory Days
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@Dan_ozzzy189 Unfortunately it wouldn't really matter too much. Level becomes pretty meaningless once you hit a certain point, although I guess it is tied to renown, which you use to get new characters and cosmetics and such. You know, that'd probably be enough for at least some people!
@BowTiesAreCool Cheating in different ways of course, but from the bit of research I've done into it, it's depressingly easy if you do choose to do it
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@Constable_What I have failed you...I have failed you.
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@Constable_What OH NO I WASNT TRYING TO MAKE YOU WANNA PLAY IT MORE. NOOOOOOO
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@EVIL-C Honestly, probably the right call lol
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@KippDynamite Honestly, it's the right call. I love the game in a way I've never loved others, but at the same time, any friends who are curious about the game, I tend to warn them away from it at this point haha.
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (PS5) - Multiplayer FPS Is Only Let Down by Its Community
@RBMango You know that might actually be true for me too now I think of it. Except the PS4 version of Uno of course
@nessisonett its the single worst community i've ever encountered in a game. It's legitimately staggering how vile the community can be!
@Abeedo you can even be team-killed in 120fps now. Talk about an upgrade!
