@NEStalgia 6 is by no means bad! I think both games are great fun, and intend to go back to them for the foreseeable future! I just found there to be a great number of problems with the games than some other VR rhythm titles like say Pistol Whip, or Beat Saber, that kinda stuff. But they're both super fun still!
@EnragedGibbon It's exhausting on higher difficulties haha, it's great!
@ThaBEN I actually already am! Haha, writing up a draft of that review tonight!
@JP80 Or heck, even just a port of Rock Band VR would be an okay starting point. That kinda just came out, no one got it, everyone forgot it existed and now it never gets mentioned anywhere haha. Revive it for PSVR2!
@NEStalgia yeah, when I first started experiencing the issues on the cymbals I was CONVINCED I was just not swing my arm the right way or missing them completely, but then I started to pay attention and saw my drum stick going straight through the cymbals instead!
@stassinari Authentically realistic, nah, but a good approximation of playing the drums if you aren't already a drummer. A decent enough arcade way to experience the instrument!
@JP80 This is definitely more "immersive" if you want to simulate playing the drums, but Ragnarok is more fun I think as a rhythm game.
@thefourfoldroot1 It definitely feels less natural, but it was much more comfortable without having to hold it down, so there's that? Neither scenario is really ideal honestly.
@Jayslow I found that odd too. Disabling that isn't a perfect solution either because then it's still really easy to hit the button to drop the drumsticks when you're not trying to. I failed at least one or two songs doing that!
@The_Pixel_King Oh man, I've been waiting for half-life PSVR announcement for YEARS. I wanna play it so bad! Definitely agreed on a new Astro game too! The first one is so so wonderful!
@The_Pixel_King I'm personally super pro-VR myself (Thumper actually plays a key role in that!) So I hope you get one too! Thumper is a BRILLIANT first VR game! It was mine haha. And I'll try and remember to ping you once the Rez review is up too!
@Simon_Fitzgerald It was honestly really great on PSVR 1, quite the accomplishment given the move wands, but no issues is good enough! I'll take it haha
oh, it's definitely the depth perception of the game. The slightly closer proximity to the environment in VR seems to play a big part! Rhythm plays a part for sure, but honestly, I think the depth of the image as you experience it in VR plays a bigger role!
@Simon_Fitzgerald Were there any improvements to hand tracking with the sense controllers? Playing the PSVR1 one, the tracking was pretty good, but it's always gonna be handicapped by the Moves. Curious if they improved it?
@CRASH64 You know I feel similarly about it haha. I'm way better at it in VR. The sensation of speed, and all the cornering is easier to keep pace with in the VR version for whatever reason, I'm okay at best on the TV version, but VR, much much better
@EnragedGibbon Super, big time agreed! It works SO WELL
@NEStalgia The HDR is a big deal, it's just weird it's only for the VR version! Although rumble/haptic feedback on the headset itself was by far the biggest new addition I think. It fits the vibe of the game so well!
@The_Pixel_King I would say it's not worth it unless at some point Drool makes a statement that the upgrade price is a temporary thing, and it'll become full price permanently. Otherwise, just for the 2D version, I don't think you'd really get much out of it. It got a free upgrade to support native 4K on the PS4 Pro back in the day already, and the 2D version doesn't have HDR, so unless the upgrade price goes away, you can probably wait until (or if) you grab a headest! As for REZ, I'm working on the review for that too! So I can let you know once we've got that one up too!
@AFCC @Amnesiac Back in the day when I was on the fence about getting PSVR 1, I got to play this at PAX and it single-handedly sold me on the headset! What a game!
@Amnesiac It's such a cool idea, and works really well, I'm almost done with the remake right now, and going in with what Trevor said about the music in mind made it that much cooler to hear!
@KaijuKaiser Bahaha, definitely not the intention!
@GreenTea The ones that stand out in horror are harder to come by, but when they stand out, boy do they stand out!
@KaijuKaiser That could be, but plenty of easy games hand out platinum's like they're nothing these days. Games early in PS4 especially used to not include a Plat all the time, but it's gotten so rare now that I was actually really surprised to see it not have one! That's right, Little Nightmares didn't either!
@NielsNL might just be some weird certification hiccup or something!
@KaijuKaiser there is actually, rather shockingly, no platinum haha. I thought the days of seeing that were long gone, but at least at present, there's no platinum! It was an easy 100% however, got it without even having to seek any of the trophies!
@KundaliniRising333 @somnambulance @glassmusic took me about 6-7 hours neither rushing, not going super slow! Could definitely add a couple more hours on if you reallllly take your time with some of the exploration or get caught up with taking photos or recording audio!
@Loamy Oh man, love that dedication to flower haha. THat was THE game that got me back into the PlayStation, had a PS1, but weirdly no PS2, until flower came out and made me really really really want a ps3 haha
@Bamila Yeah, the presentation of that concert is immaculate!!! I love it!
Yeah, the candles are definitely a product of it being a f2p game Even with that, at least that experience around that stuff is so great!
@VanguardKaiser It's so good, I was already familiar with her music before hearing about this, and it just felt like a really great match immediately upon hearing about it honestly!
The pricing on the Journey pack is brutal though, agreed. I get it to a degree since the game itself is free, but still, given what the pack represents, that price is steeeeep
Yessss, was starting to get worried about this one getting ported over, since Pistol Whip got announced ages ago. Now all that's left for the rhythm trifecta is Synth Riders!
@Sarxion The massively expanded tracklist/ greater catalog is definitely appealing. That's probably the biggest detractor for the PSVR stuff, no secondary market for folks to chart their own songs when they feel like it. That's probably the biggest detractor, having to rely solely on DLC packs for new songs.
Audio Trip I think I have heard of but never played. It sounds familiar at least. Cardio Mode sounds worth it though. VR, especially rhythm games, is probably the most enjoyable exercise I've ever experienced, so any ways to add to that list of choices is worth it!
Hahah, my mom actually didn't care much for Dance Central, I had it on the Kinect back in the day haha and she couldn't stand it!
@Sarxion Yeah, the wirelessness is one of the only reasons I'd ever really considered maybe getting a Quest, although honestly I mostly wanted to get it for my mom. She loves Beat Saber haha. Portability would be cool, but I don't explicitly need it, and hopefully, PSVR 2 will continue to have lots of exclusives, although so far what we've seen, man I don't know. Their rate of releasing interesting exclusive stuff whittled down to almost nothing on the first headset, to begin with, so I'm not sure how confident I am in that.
Supernatural I've not heard of previously, but you've got me intrigued! That corner of VR gaming is 100% my favorite aspect of it haha
@awp69 That is exactly why it was in honorable mentions haha. I think I mentioned that in the review for the game too actually. The music was really good, but by the time you're done playing, the music makes you feel like you're going insane
@Amnesiac Artful Escape has a such a weird unique soundtrack haha. All the guitar "gameplay" segments are so satisfying even if there aren't many of them, and the regular score is so damn good too. The whole vibe of that soundtrack is strange, and it's so good!
Well of course it would have to be in a good way! Tere's no way to listen to Yes, unless it's a good thing! Simply not possible! 🤣
@Korgon Olivier Deriviere's scores are usually so unique! I still listen to his soundtrack for Vampyr on the regular! Always a great listen!
@EnragedGibbon Might just be some weird rights things regarding Beat Saber? Since Oculus owns the studio, they might not wanna help out Sony by having it available on day 1 or something like that. It's always on the top sellers list though, so they'd be turning their backs on a lot of money haha
@Sarxion I might get it just for Beat Saber at some point, but at this point, I'm fully engrained on the PSVR platform, I don't really need more than one. Have all my games on PSVR and my computer is TERRIBLE haha. It's very old. Cuz if I were going to get a different headset, I'd want one of the higher-end ones. Probably be whatever HTC's got cooking on their next one if I do make a change.
@EnragedGibbon It's gotta happen, surely?! Most of the games I wanna hear PSVR2 announcements for are rhythm games haha. Beat Saber too! At least Pistol Whip got it already
@Ravix I liked a lot of the elements of Stray, the world, especially that hub level where it's mostly talking to all the folks around town was great though! It definitely had moments where I was super into what was going on, the prison area I didn't love too much though haha, got a little a too "Gamey" and less experiential than I was hoping for!
@Fight_Teza_Fight I can only assume the PSVR2 version is gonna be even better too! I plan on replaying both Moss' on the new headset! Definitely excited
@Ravix It was on Gamepass Day 1, so my assumption is it might take a bit. I feel like most games that debut on or the other have it baked into the contract that they can't be on the other, at least for smaller games. I did play Stray for what that's worth, and I thought it was very okay haha. I didn't dislike it by any means, but I was both hoping for more from it, and wishing it ended sooner than it did.
@NotTelevision My only experience with the area is through the game haha. And until recently I kinda just assumed it was a fictional area, not really thinking it would be real. But, even just from the game itself, a lot of the personality of the area shines through even in the futuristic, fictional version!
@NotTelevision The creator of the game is (or was?) from Norco! I remember reading that they lived there at some point. And the presence of "cancer alley" veryyyy much a part of the game. I don't think it gets referred to directly as such, not that I remember, but it's definitely alluded to
@JudgeDredd @nessisonett @BeerIsAwesome Plus, the silver lining in this instance, the stuff's free too! I went in and grabbed mine already and it was relatively painless haha
Yeah I think it's available solo finally, might be included in the higher tiers of PS+ now too come to think of it. It's not as great as the actual classic games, but it's still a really good time!
@Would_you_kindly Absolutely! AND the prices of sports titles tend to drop steeply and quickly making it even crazier!
@SilentS I miss those days The ESPN/2K games pushed EA around that time to have to put that extra little bit of effort into the titles which led to all sorts of fun stuff like that! I hope when the next contract is up the NHL considers licensing to multiple publishers, but I'm not expecting it
This is a huge bummer, I still remember how much fun I had reviewing the first Tales back in the day, and I was really hoping this would be a worthy successor, even if I was skeptical it would be. A damn shame
@Mostik Here's the link I used, although fair warning, I'm in the States, so that could be the issue? I didn't see it on their website, it was in one of their e-mails, I almost missed it too!
@Mostik Hopping back in here quick to say that Limited Run's doing an Amazon distribution on this as predicted! We have a shot at grabbing it again! Definitely gonna be getting it this time!
@Yaycandy yeah, i was never able to use the 60FPS RT version at all, that's what broke my console. I HAD to play it on 60FPS 1080 on the PS5, and was massively disappointed by that. It was still a good game, but being one of the very few games at the time that was capable of showing off what the PS5 could do, I was definitely let down by that!
@Yaycandy I had MASSIVE problems with Miles Morales too. I to this day still can't play the game on max settings cuz it freezes up the console and it has to reset. Back when it was first launching I thought for sure a patch to fix would be on the way, but it never came!
@MattBoothDev 3 or 4 through the course of playing, but you'll wind up losing relatively little progress. Anytime you enter a new room/area the game creates a save state. Maybe 10-15 minute of progress lost at most
@tselliot It didn't warrant further expansion as there wasn't much more to say than making sure to mention it, but I didn't want to leave it out entirely, as it's still important information!
@Ogbert Oof, did I really come off like that? I LOVE Lego!!!
@AstraeaV Ooooo that would be awesome!
@Titntin THe puzzles where they basically give you a bucket of legos and have you solve the problem however you can are great! I really appreciated how freeform it was!
@Sequel Given most consoles have been treating backwards compatibility this gen, it was a reasonable assumption to make! I was assuming that would be the case for a while too. Although it seems like a pretty solid amount of games are gonna get ported to PSVR2, so that's something at least!

@AstraeaV Ooooo that would be awesome!
@Titntin THe puzzles where they basically give you a bucket of legos and have you solve the problem however you can are great! I really appreciated how freeform it was!
Re: Mini Review: Startenders (PSVR) – A Fun Time Serving Up Cosmic Drinks
@Sequel Given most consoles have been treating backwards compatibility this gen, it was a reasonable assumption to make! I was assuming that would be the case for a while too. Although it seems like a pretty solid amount of games are gonna get ported to PSVR2, so that's something at least!
