@Salohcin - it's real simple. you have 2 choices.
1. go with the cheap price and play mediocre or total crap games.
2. or buy a ps5.
i really don't think sony will try to convince you or anyone about anything. the choices are pretty easy to see.

@MichaelHawj - that's what i think will happen. they might give that first - but i think it'll be at the end.

@KidBoruto - it's definitely getting exciting! i'm really focused on getting my preorder in: ps5 disc version with the pulse headset. hope to be playing spiderman, demon souls and bugsnax on launch day.

@TheRedComet - if you like keeping a lot of games on your system, then i see your point. the only reason i didn't have too many issues is i tend to uninstall games if i'm not going to play them for a while - then i just redownload when/if i want to play them again.

@TheAdza - with a new console i care about who gives me the most and best games - and that's always been sony. i will agree that if you're cash-strapped and need to watch your spending, gamepass could give you a way to play a lot of games without spending a lot of money - but i think you miss a lot in the sony exclusives. good luck with whatever choice you make.

@TheAdza - it has nothing to do with being a "fanboy". it has everything to do with facts. gamepass hasn't helped MS at all this gen. but, all of a sudden, it's going to be a difference-maker in the next gen? and i did NOT say gamepass didn't have merit or a place. surely, for cash-strapped people who have NO alternative, gamepass will give them something. but my point was : until MS shows they can compete better than they have for the last 7 years, it's all talk. so, lets see what happens in the next 2 years.

@JayShaw - that's what i had thought. i did see a couple of articles that questioned whether a stand for the upright position would have to be purchased. i'm hoping for the "one stand fits all" approach.

as far as the actual SSD size. i never had too much trouble with the 500 gig on the ps4. i'm going to wait and see how it goes - but if i need to get more storage, i will.

@Waffles12415 depends on how long you take to pay off the 600 and what the interest rate is.

@MichaelHawj - i think 39 minutes for games with the other info hitting the screen in the last minute.

@TheIdleCritic - along with MM, demon souls remake is a BIG day1 release.

@TheAdza - if gamepass is such a great deal - why hasn't MS done better with this gen? gamepass has been available for quite some time already.

@Iroha - i am. this has been a miserable year with the covid hysteria. as soon as preorders go live - i'm after one!! LOL

@IronMike - xbox preorders start on the 22nd. sony has next week to get price/ release date out to get their preorders opened no later than the 22nd. it doesn't take much smarts to figure sony wants their preorders to be live when MS opens up theirs.
price, release date will be announced at one of those events next week and preorders will start no later than sept. 22.

@MichaelHawj - yea. i would never pay those inflated prices but some do - i think it's bad for gaming. a couple months ago there were a couple people who already sold ps5 preorders for 2000 dollars thru auctions! i think that kind of thing is crazy.

i might play it later on, but this won't be something i get for ps5 early. i already have other games want a lot more than this. while this looks nice, i wish they'd stayed with the original art concept - i loved that look.

snowrunner dropped the first big dlc expansion - so that for sure.

@MasterEMFG - i con't care about the color - i am wanting to stand that thing up, though - tower of power!

@SirAngry - big agree on that. i really didn't understand why their only event next week was at pax - now, everything does make more sense.

@MichaelHawj - yea, he's already gotten word of that several months ago. he said one console per person. that had come from gamestop brass - not sony. hopefully this cuts down on scalpers.

@SirAngry agreed. it's like i said a few days ago - sony isn't going to sit and wait while MS open preorders. i knew they'd do something next week - now there are 2 events..... i didn't expect that. i think MS might have poked the bear.

i'm hoping for a preorder invite direct from sony. i've gotten 3 emails from them in the last month talking about their preorder options. if i dont' get that, i know the manager at gamestop, so i'll call him and see what's up there - the day preorders open up is a going to be crazy!

@vegeta11 - gotcha! and i agree. when i heard that MS opens preorders on the 22nd, i've said since that sony has to give price/release date before then and have preorders open no later than the 22nd.

@MichaelHawj - disc version. i like the flexability of buying either digital or physical. i get your point though about the digital - it may be easier to get. what i'm wondering is if each person is allowed to buy just one ps5 - or one of each model? if each person can buy one of each, that digital might be hard to come by too.

@BearsEatBeets - first and most importantly, i'd like to see demon souls and spiderman gameplay. but, your idea is a good one.

@MichaelHawj - as long as i get a preorder, i'll take any of those dates!!! LOL

@PSfanboy1992 - from the description, it sounds specifically like a launch game/launch game window event. so, no need to use the state of play name......just a guess.

@MichaelHawj - agreed! and i wouldn't be shocked if sony pegged nov 3rd to launch. if they're ready, get out there a week before MS.

@stu123 - i'm thinking same on price. it doesn't really matter to me - i'm getting one, regardless.

@JohnKarnes me too! and judging by how many are fixated on price, i'm hoping i'm able to preorder while these people are debating whether the price is 50 dollars too high . LOL.

@vegeta11 -how? and how did MS "cause" anything - they only released info in the middle of the night when it was discovered leaks had already put that info out there.

@Deadlyblack - i'm fully expecting demon souls/spiderman/ bugsnax are at launch with ratchet within 3-4 months of launch. if this is accurate, i'm good and anything else is gravy.

@Paranoimia - did MS give any word in advance of dropping price in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?

@KippDynamite - so i'm not crazy? i kept doing the math and wondered why NONE of the gaming sites were talking about this? i'm older and money isn't an issue for me; but, if i couldn't afford to buy something, i'd never make this kind of a deal.

i sure hope that stand allows for EITHER horizontal or vertical placement. everyone should be able to position it the way they want right out of the box. i want to stand it up like it was first shown by sony.

@Ashkorsair - and i must be missing something - for a series s and gamepass ultimate, it's 24.99 a month for 24 months - that's 599.76 dollars.
a series s costs around 323 dollars if you buy it outright. so, it's 256 dollars for the 2 years for gamepass ultimate??? i think the payment option is a bad deal.

@SirAngry - i'm with you on TGS - i was sure that would be the week. i just can't imagine the wisdom in sony letting MS preorders go live without anything happening next week.
