Re: Random: Build Communism with $165 Disco Elysium Poverty Chic Plastic Bag Bag

@JuiceboxMeister basically all of cultural anthropology as a field goes on to demonstrate what I just told you, along with a dose of history of socialism and how it's been besieged on all fronts by the US and other capitalist forces in every single one of its incarnation.
Seriously, if people educated themselves about socialism we'd stop with this "looking for the best system/nothing's better than capitalism now" nonsense.

Re: Spider-Man 2's Looking Like Another PC Own Goal from Sony

clvr

Lol at the fanboys jumping to absurd conclusions about piracy and PC gamers hating Sony (what? 😂), when in reality people are simply calling out a badly optimized port.
Also gotta love the lack of moderation when a people are called incels undeserving of Sony's games, chapeau.

Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation

clvr

@dark_knightmare2 yes they actually do.
If you think the mainstream reviews are the right avenue for judging a game's artistic merit, I'm sorry but you're completely off base.
Reviews are meant to describe a product, not a piece of art, and that's exactly why mediocre, run of the mill games get high marks.
But then again, you bring up sales as a testament to the games' quality, so I'm not sure we're on the same page as that's the first thing you learn to decouple from art when assessing it as, well, art and not a product.

Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Stellar Blade

clvr

Blergh.
Goes to show what little grasp people have of actually good games, but then again, we live in a world dominated by shallow, meaningless franchises like Marvel and such, so I'm not exactly surprised by the low standards.
With all the great games out in 2024, this shouldn't even be mentioned.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Want a Steam Deck-Like Portable PlayStation?

clvr

@kyleforrester87 welcome to the Deck community lol
To be fair I haven't had it for a long time (only a few months), but I absolutely adore the thing, it's become my boomer shooter machine and I love it lol
Other than that, JRPG's I always find great when portable, along with metroidvanias and platformers in general (even 3D ones!).
Some highlights of these first few months include Witchfire (Early Access), HROT, Cassette Beasts, and replaying a lot of DOOM games lol

Re: Sony Reportedly in Talks to Acquire Elden Ring Dev's Parent Company Kadokawa Corp

clvr

@ChrisDeku lol, if getting the core gunplay right is enough for you to crown them the best you've got an incredibly low bar and should probably play a lot more FPS games.
There are Indies made by one person or a very small team that are bona fide masterpieces in many areas, while Bungie can't get anything right aside from the basics (and I've always thought that to be the case, regarding Halo as well).
And if we're talking AAA, nobody beats id Software, mechanically or technically speaking.

Re: Black Ops 6 Devs Walk Out, Activision Strike Makes the Local News

clvr

@RamboMike yeah everyone is an entitled whiner, it's not you that are bitter.
It's always the same story in every comment section regarding strikes, people brainwashed by this workaholic culture who go against their own interest and belittle their fellow workers for...what reason exactly? Bitterness? Envy?
I'm freaking tired of seeing this crap as well, so what?

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 16, and Metaphor: ReFantazio All Get a Boost on PS5 Pro

clvr

Watched SkillUp's review and it confirmed exactly what I suspected: it's a waste of money because the more powerful GPU is hampered by a CPU barely more powerful than the base model's, so you only get marginal improvements for €700.
It's a premium product but it doesn't have basic features the base model has.
Oh and the fact that they're still pushing 30 FPS modes on this thing is outrageous.
If I had €700-800 to burn, I know I'd build a much better PC than this half-baked, needless half-step.

Re: More People Are Playing the Original Horizon Zero Dawn Than Its Remaster on PC

clvr

@EfYI Also, do not waver from having them sign in. There are adult crybabies who will cry about anything that isn't crystal meth shot directly into their veiny eyeballs.

I think you missed the part where PSN is not available in a large majority of countries around the world.
But then again, the way you speak of other people is so unrespectful and childish you probably don't care about it either.

Re: Black Ops 6 Devs Walk Out, Activision Strike Makes the Local News

clvr

The amount of unempathetic people in here is seriously sickening.
You're so f*****g brainwashed by society and miserable that everyone has to suffer like you do, right?
Can't be happy or side with someone fighting for their rights?
No, let's lick the corporation's boot and pretend these workers are entitled whiners.
I swear some people has no humanity left in them.

Re: Random: God of War Ragnarok PC Mod Removes Thousands of 'Helpful' Dialogue Lines

clvr

@RBRTMNZ you definitely need to branch out and play Bayonetta or DMC then, because GOW's combat system is mid at best.
The camera is completely at odds with the type of combat it wants to be, relying on stupid red arrows to tell you when hits are coming, instead of, you know, letting you see the action. Kratos Is magically magnet pulled to enemies, which is a cardinal sin of any good character action game, as the player must be the one dictating the rhythm of combat.
The controls suck, but I know I'm in a minority there; "a few mid puzzles" are actually an incredible annoyance thwt shouldn't even be in the game to begin with. What's the point of having a puzzle for pacing, if you're just gonna give me the answer? It ruins the pace instead of improving it, because it just amounts to literal busywork.
The gear system is completely redundant and tacked on, included only because you can't have a AAA game these days without one.

Re: Stellar Blade's NieR: Automata Collab Only Happening Because Yoko Taro Loves Money

clvr

@dskatter @IntrepidWombat of course I didn't, everything about it looked mid from the get go and reviewers I trust, plus watching part of the story, only confirmed that.
The characters are dreadful, the themes ape Nier Automata without understanding them, and so on.
As I said in the review, if it weren't a heavily publicised PS exclusive, nobody would score it as high as they did.

Re: Things Are Getting Worse for Floundering PS5, PC FPS Concord

clvr

@Blaze215 no, he's perfectly right.
The game is wildly underperforming because of several factors such as price, generic looks, trite gameplay etc, not because of some made up culture war only Americans care about.
And if you think only one factor was decisive in the downfall of this game, I'm sorry but the world is a very complex system where nothing can be attributed to one single variable in most cases, and certainly not one as vague and meaningless as "wokeness".
