Re: Of Course Baldur's Gate 3 Will Be Heavily Censored in Japan

It’s great that the PS5 is region agnostic. The majority of Japanese gamers can read, write and speak English. Importing the game to Japan from the United States is a viable option for them. Bummer to have to jump through those hoops but when region locking was a thing it was so much worse. All the best wishes to the Japanese gamers I hope someday you get everything you want..

@Immortal_Barnet Thanks for the URL. I am one one the many that are disinterested in this games combat. After reading your comment I was concerned that maybe I was doing it wrong (in the demo). But my demo experience was very similar to this video. I tried out different unlocked abilities, rotated through Eikon cooldown constantly, followed up melee with ranged for bonuses and juggling, and had a dog constantly on the move. I considered cancelling my preorder after playing this demo but in the end I am interested enough in the story and characters to ignore the combat and solder on, thanks for the assistance.

Re: Best Free Games on PS5

Maybe it doesn’t count technically but FFXIV should get a mention here. 2/5th of the game is playable for free which conservatively is hundreds of hours. It doesn’t require a CC and doesn’t require PS+.

"I don't have anything else to play"
OK, I encourage you to fix that. I know not everyone is like me with dozens of games in a backlog waiting to be played. I'm surprised that a games journalist doesn't have a backlog. If you don't bravo! Go grab a Super Nintendo and play all the old games you missed.

ā€œfrontline price increaseā€ use of the word ā€œfrontlineā€ is tacit acknowledgment that prices have been going up for gamers. I would challenge them to release their information on how much gross revenue they got per copy sold in 2005 vs. 2021 including the revenue from all DLC and microtransaction.

$60 (USD) in 2005 is $80 (USD) in 2021.

If their average revenue per copy is less than $80 I’m willing to entertain the idea that a price increase is reasonable.

Re: Feature: Could PlayStation Do More to Promote Green Packaging?

@Medic_Alert I disagree, it is about me. It's actually about both (me and the planet). The joy I get from holding/using the games of my past is a real thing. Making those cases less likely to stand up to use/time does affect me. I throw away dozens of cubic yards of plastic every year; it seems like a better way to help reduce plastic waste would be to focus on the products that are made to be disposable or single use and eliminate them (bottles, packing material, shrink wrap, etc.).

Re: Feature: Could PlayStation Do More to Promote Green Packaging?

@Dezzy70 exactly.
Those of us that collect games never throw any of this away (I have cases from games 40 years ago...). We collectors want durable cases that do not show wear. Plastic does this.

If anyone does throw their games away then please just buy digital and skip all the plastic.
