@xMonk Hold your horses. These photos are obviously photoshopped or shot that way to show that the LCD is bad. There is no way that the new LCD has this yellowish feel to it. So unless the brightness is turned all the way down, there is no way an LCD can produce such a bad image.
Seriously... You guys couldn't get worse photos of both screens even if you tried. White is shown as yellowish? Even the worst LCD displays a decent white. Considering that the new LCD panel that the Vita has, is above the average LCDs out there, that photo with the Konami logo couldn't be further from the truth. So unless you want to harm the new Vita, you ow us at least an explanation about these bad photos. Unless your Vita Slim is malfunctioning in which case you shouldn't have taken the photos in the first place. This article is biased in my opinion. Shame.
The Vita is not dying, Sony on the other hand must take their thumb out of the place where the sun don't shine and start doing something right, because up until now, the PS4 is a fraking disappointment, especially if you are coming from a PS3. All they had to do was, carry over most of the PS3's functionality and add to it. But no, they thought that ignoring most of them was the right move. And then the Vita has a problem ... yeah right.
FFS will you give it a rest already? If it's not dying, you (so call journalists) sure do a damn good job at trying to kill it, asking the same fracking question twice a month. You want to write somthing about? Write about the lacking software, features and multimedia cpabiliities of the PS4 as it enters its 3rd month on the market. Those are real issues. Or... You could write an article saying why 2014 will be a great year for Vita?

@rjejr @Sanquine Microsoft killed the Dreamcast not Sony or piracy. Go and read the story of the Dreamcast. It's a fascinating although sad story. Sony just found a dying console. It was Microsoft's manipulations and "delays" of the Windows CE updates (among other things) that ultimately killed the Dreamcast. Of course Microsoft being the company that is, took all the know-how that they learned form their collaboration with Sega and made... you guessed it the first XBox. To put it in plain words it was the typical MS strategy, send a CEO, make all the wrong calls, recall CEO destroy or buy the opposing company or leave CEO there and take over the company. Amiga, Sega, Nokia, EA and recently Nintendo are a few of MS' victims. Why do you think EA is not making any games for the Vita and the WiiU (No it's not the sales) and treats MS more favourably?
@EyeDeeNO76 The PS3 was the brain child of Ken Kutaragi. Since they distanced themselves form Kutaragi it was natural that they would distance themselves form the Cell architecture as well. Sony took the easiest path and built a PC. For the first time they did not innovate or did not push the industry forward.
The major flaw is that the console hasn't received another firmware update (it desperately needs one) and no new retail games in over two months. It's as if Sony had a plan up until its release and then nothing. Disappointing.
By this time devolpers know everything about the Cell. Sony should just have added more RAM to the ps3 hardware and upgrade the graphics chip a bit. Low development cost, no need to invest in new production lines, AND most of all backwards compatibility out of the box. I never understood the decision to migrade to the damn x86 architecture. The Cell blows any x86 CPU out of the water even 7 years later.
Not to mention that the developers are basically forced to through away 7 years of trying to learn to programme the Cell. All that time and money investment just thrown away. Yet Sony says developers wanted this... I don't know.
I had the same reservations as you did. Then I sat down and calculated everything the Vita had to offer and it's shortcomings. One year after its release it was a good time to get one (now it's even better to get one). So I sold my PSP with some games around 100 Euros, as a result the Vita didn't cost that much, and I only spent some money on a bigger memory card after many months. I preferred to buy the physical copies of the games and resell the ones I have finished or didn't like. When the time came instead of buying a game, I bought a memory card. I tried to keep the cost of owning a Vita at a minimum and it wasn’t THAT hard. It all comes down to how one sees things. Nobody forces you to buy a big memory card on day 1 and besides you can buy second hand memory cards very cheap if you search.
Is the Vita THAT overpriced? I keep hearing that for over a year now actually form day one, when it kind of was. At 200 Euros now usually with a game or a memory card, is it still overpriced? Compared to what? It's Bill Of Materials, the DS, the PS3? What are the standards? You cannot get a portable gaming device as good as the Vita at that or a lower price. Sorry I respect Nintendo but I don't like their products, or their games (except a few). Tablets which cost more (except the Nexus 7) don't count since most people put them on a surface and play with a joypad, sorry again, but that's not portable gaming and phones are a joke as a serious gaming device. So it all depends on how you look at things. So how is it overpriced?
I have some questions too. The same line of "reports" and articles come out for the past one and a half year, as if the Vita hasn't sold a single unit over that time, as if it didn't get any games. Could it be that we, gamers and mostly the reporters, are perpetuating a rumor and a distorted reality about the Vita? How many units must it sell to satisfy the press and make you (the owner) feel good or trendy? How many and what games must it get to satisfy? If it's not the games it's the memory cards, if it's not the memory cards it's the indies, if it's not the indies it's the ports. There is always something to complain about the Vita isn't there? Just let it rest. Two years of whining and bitching from the press is enough already. The pounding this device has received from the press from day 1 is beyond unfair, it’s downright war. I bought a Vita and I have never regretted it for a moment and I've been playing games since 1985, so believe me when I tell you I recognize a good device when I see one. People I gave the Vita too prefer it over a buttonless tablet or phone.
No AAA games. I agree, but… Let's be honest, if you are a gamer chances are you have a PC or another stationary console. Do you really want to tell me, that you waited for the Vita to be able to play 60+ hours games? While you have your big screen just sits there? Why do you have the need to play a Call Of Duty or an Uncharted game on a 5 inch screen? Why? Yes it is cool. Period. Apart from that, why? It is very tiring, if you play it outside you probably can't enjoy it because of all the sunlight or the bumps while in transit. How many of you travel for more than 3-4 hours daily or during the week to justify the need of a long AAA game on the go? A very small percentage. Most of us play our Vita indoors a few feet from our PC or main console. I would also like to see some AAA games in the Vita, but I will not die or dislike the device if I don't get them. Instead I expect the Vita to give me fun and unique gaming experiences and it manages at that, considering the time I spent with it. which is 1/4 of my gaming time and I play a lot. I can name more than 10 AAA games the Vita has that are great to play between PC or Console sessions or on the go.
Every product has its shortcomings. You just have to be honest with your needs and what the device you are buying can deliver and if you can workaround those shortcoming. Fortunately for the Vita, you get an almost perfect gaming device, that has all the controls you could wish for (except physical L2 & R2 triggers) and all you have to do is manage your games (digital vs physical) and what you play. If you haven't played Uncharted or Killzone (or any similar game) on your PC or home console, and you whine about the Vita not getting an Uncharted like game, then my fellow gamers it's your fault and not Sony's because clearly at that point your are just a greedy customer and nothing more.
The Vita will find its way, but not if you keep bashing it in the head and please don't mind the rumblings of a clueless bureaucrat exec who has probably never held a dualshock in his life, as is the truth (little insider info) for most people working at SCE UK. They have nothing to do with gaming, not even community managers. lol
Having a PS Vita for over a year now I can not agree with the article. Why? Because you can simply buy a big memory card down the line. Nobody forces you to buy the game all digital. It only requires good management form your part. I get all my games in physcal form and the ones that I have completed 100% on the VIta don't have a reason stay in the memory card. Upload the save to PS Plus and re-download the game if and when you want to revisit it.
BUT...
Is the medium overpriced? Damn right it is. It is obvious that they had some micro memory stick stocks to get rid off and they came up with this. I expect that Sony will see reason and either bundle a big memory with the Vita or drop the memory prices all together. Better yet a Vita with built in 32GB.
The difference between Vita and iPod is that Vita has actual games and dual sticks. The Vita IS the best portable gaming device out there. A few AAA games and it will find its spot in the sun. Also a revision (PS Vita 2) with more Ram, a better CPU and a better battery, around 2015 will do wonders for the device. We haven't heard the last of the PS Vita. It is only getting started.
@KAPADO Or you could buy a PS3 with YLOD which you should be able to find at under 30$ or even free and rip the drive (or just the head) off that one and fix yours.
I have been trying to save Don't Starve from my PS4 community. They hated it because there was no tutorial. So I am playing and streaming it and explaining what I do. Funny enough many gamers have changed their mind and found an enjoyable game where once was an annoying, WTH? game.
Only a million? Come on people, you buy that shite FIFA by the tons and you don't give this masterpiece a chance?
If you are going to play it, do yourself a favour and play it with another person together, preferably a woman. It will be a whole different game. The game I believe the developers had in mind. Simply brilliant.

Sometime I just hate myself, lol. I have a bad habit reading about everything I can before I get a game. Things aren't looking very good about the PS4 version of NBA 2K14. A lot of bugs are being reported over at 2K's forums and in a usual 2K fashion... 2K doesn't care. Hmmm not good at all.
My last Basketball game was the launch PS3 NBA 2K7. When I tried this on my PC I was blown away at how far basketball games have come. Presentation is suberb, the game engine is fantastic, you can just leave it playing and indeed at some point you will forget that this is just a game, hell it fooled poeple walking into the living room. One thing I should notice is that you need to realy know basketball in order to play effiently as a virtual balller. You have to learn the positions and the plays. So some research is needed. This is a game that you need to through a lot of time into it but in the end you will become a good "virtual" basketball player. This has become one of the first games I will get with my PS4. Great game.
"Exciting times, huh?" Not really if it costs an arm and a leg and has no substantial support like most recent innovations/gimmicks from our beloved Sony.
The PS3 (the phat model at least) has the same issue. It seems as if the PS OS doesn't check again to see if there is an available network once it loses it. It seems to check network availability only at start up. Weird.
