Re: What Does the PS4's European Launch Lineup Look Like?

Sutorcen

Ah what the hell, let’s take a look at this launch line up. Now let’s see…

Angry Birds Star Wars - Seriously? 35 Euros for this game?
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – I was done with the AC after AC2 when they started releasing a game every year.
Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts – I don’t like FPS war games.
Contrast (PS Plus) played it on the PC didn't like it.
FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, NBA LIVE 14 and Need For Speed Rivals – EA wont be seeing any of my money until they change their policy/attitude/strategy.
DC Universe Online – May actually try this out.
Killzone - Will be coming with the bundle and it will be sold asap.
Resogun (PS Plus) - I will definitely enjoy that.
Flower and Sound Shapes - Already owned and finished so no interest there.
Trine 2: Complete Story – You can get it on PC much cheaper.
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition – My Street Fighter days are behind me. Great game though.
Just Dance 2014 – If it was a new Singstar I would consider it, but this? Nope.
Knack – Ratchet and Clank in the Nexus is out. Need I say more?
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – Not a next gen title and you can play it elsewhere.
NBA 2K14 – Great game. Considering it.
Putty Squad – A game that was created during the Amiga era can’t be that bad. This has Ps Vita written all over it.
Super Motherload – Nice game, I will probably not be playing this on my PS4 though.
Warframe – Didn’t try it on PC and I’m not a dedicated online FPS player so… I’ll pass.
War Thunder – Now this looks interesting (open beta available on their site if you want to check it out)

Well so much for a “Next Gen” launch (same goes for the XBone). You can play or have already played, most of these games on another platform or a PC and at higher resolutions than 1080p. Not many fresh ideas, not a single Killer App. Come on guys, you could do better than that. So many games in development yet all we get is this generation’s latest releases.

The launch line up in numbers, just for fun.
24 launch games.
12 of them are sequels
18 are multiplatfrom games
6 are Playstation exclusives
2 are PS4 exclusives.
4 are FPS games.
4 are Sports games
4 are Online games
1 is an MMO RPG.
0 games are an RPG.
1 is a racing game.
3 are Indie games
2 are a new IPs

After Watch Dogs Drive Club and Infamous Second Son got pushed back and we were left with the usual suspects, I lost my enthusiasm about the launch. Still excited though about all the great future releases. I wish a great “launch” experience to all without hardware problems. Now excuse me I have some PS3 games to finish.

P.S. Those PS4/Vita games that are cross buy will be available for free on your PS4/Vita if you already own them on PS3.

Re: Poll: How Many PS3 Games Do You Hope to Finish Before Fully Focusing on PS4?

Sutorcen

@Lelouch I didn't mean that it looks like an anime if you play it with japanese voice over. I only meant that usually it is better to watch such content in it's original language. At the end of the day though it all comes down to personal taste. I prefer to watch anime and play Japanese games with Japanese voice over, others may not like it. Either way it is a great game.

Re: Talking Point: Is a Big Reveal Likely During Sony's PS4 Launch Livestream?

Sutorcen

Ok first of all a sequel to an existing IP isn't great news. It's the logical thing. Updates on existing games are also expected. Now announcing a new IP, now that would be exciting, that would be great news. Although now that I'm typing this, another title comes to mind that could make a huge splash. Monster Hunter for PS4/Vita. I know it has been denied time and again, but maybe it was all part of the plan. MM's new game could also make a splash as long as it's not LBP plus that rumoured Naughty Dog game. Only a few days left. Oh Quantic Dreams could also make an appearance... maybe.

Re: Wow, Sony Shares Everything You Could Ever Want to Know About PS4

Sutorcen

Sony owns major Music and Movie Studios. They are forced in a way to NOT support .mkv and subtitles because let's face it the only reason you have to use those files is to watch downloaded series and movies, which according to them is considered piracy. This is the reason that no Sony product has multimedia capabilities beyond the mp4 format.

As for the removal of mp3 support I find it justified. First of all you remove the demand for custom in game soundtracks, which the developers and the publishers don't want. How often did you use your ps3 to actually listen to mp3s? Last but not least, they need to somehow force you to use their music service. Will I miss the fact that I can't play mp3 on my PS4? Not really. I wouldn't mind having the option to choose though beacuse Music Unlimited is NOT available in all countries and regions.

Re: Judging By These Comments, Titanfall Was Definitely Planned for PS4

Sutorcen

We all know EA's tactics. just look at what they are doing to the Wii U and the PS Vita. As for Microsoft, you can't expect anything ethical from a company that was created based on a theft. Whoever knows some history knows how Microsoft works and what they have done over the years. Anyway back to the topic of gaming. Not having this on the PS4 is not a break dealer nor will it be missed, there so many great games coming out. But, if you want to play it there is always the PC version, which for boycott reasons I will not purchase as I do with most of EA games.

Re: Rumour: You'll Be Able to Exchange Real Cash for Money in Grand Theft Auto Online

Sutorcen

"The biggest criticism seems to stem from the fact that it’s quite difficult to earn money in the sandbox sequel’s single player campaign."

Hard? I have a tip for you.

Keep everything you earn and don't buy properties yet. Before ceratin missions where you will know which way the stockmarket will go, since you will be influencing it, go and buy the said stocks with all the characters. Easy 400.000+ for each, at the beggining and more later in the game. Simple as that.

Re: Talking Point: Is Grand Theft Auto V Living Up to Your Expectations?

Sutorcen

Where do I start? The soundtrack? The TV Shows? The drawing distance? The size of the map? The activities you can undertake? Sure the 720p resolution doesn't do this game justice (please release it on PC) but this game is amazing. If you never played a GTA game before, you owe it to yourself to at least try this one.

Re: Ouch, Japan Isn't Getting PS4 Until February 2014

Sutorcen

Sony knows is playing alone in Japan, so is shifting focus to the NA and European markets instead. Let’s not forget that we got the PS3 in Europe four and a half months later and we all saw what that did to the PS3 sales. I don’t think that Sony would risk losing the lead over Microsoft, by delaying the PS4 release in one of those markets. Japan is the safest to delay and they did just that.

Re: Sony Enters the Micro-console Arena With PS Vita TV, The Smallest PlayStation Yet

Sutorcen

If you don’t own a video games console this is a great offer. First and foremost you get a video games console for $100 ($150 with a DualShock + a memory card) which is a killer price. Then you get all the other cool features (Browsing, Videos, Streaming). Free games with a PS Plus subscription. It is small so it won’t ruin your living room looks. It has a huge catalogue of games PS Vita/ PSP/ PS One.

Plays PS Vita/PSP/PSone games.
Access to PS Plus.
Access to media services.
Access to Social Media Apps and Web browsing.
Streams PS Vita games to the PS4.
Streams PS4 games and other content to a remote TV. (best feature)

More ways to sell PS Vita hardware and games. Brilliant move Sony. Simply Brilliant.

Not much use if you have a PS Vita but that PS4 streaming is cool.

Re: Store Update: 4th September 2013 (Europe)

Sutorcen

Just a warning to everyone who is about to buy The Walking Dead. The game is plagued by lag spikes during action scenes and decision making moments. Similar to those when the game first came out on the PS3. It is not unplayable, it is just immersion breaking. I would wait for a patch.

The game does include the 400 Days episode, although it doesn’t show anywhere in the PS Store’s description.

Re: Review: Killzone: Mercenary (PlayStation Vita)

Sutorcen

Aaahhh the eternal quest of “trying to understand reviews and reviewers”. Guys, the reviews are personal opinions and as such highly subjective. All we need to know as gamers is that this game looks great, handles great, the gameplay is right and you will get your money's worth. In the end the best reviewer is you.

INFO: The game's size is 3.3GB for any of you who want to buy the digital copy.

Re: Review: Spelunky (PlayStation Network - Vita)

Sutorcen

@baconcow Having advanced a bit in the game and understanding the mechanics a bit more, I have to say that you don't die so often from the ghost. Still, I would have preferred an option to disable it, as it doesn't add anything to the gameplay. The stages are small enough as it is.a

Re: Rumour: Could inFAMOUS Be Shapeshifting onto Vita?

Sutorcen

@Lelouch My bad I meant to say "I am not one who likes when companies milk a franchise and pump out many games of the same IP or in quick succession." Oh and let's not forget the anual AC games. Either way you are right. As for people complaining that Second Son isn't made for the PS3, they shouldn't, it's undersandable because it is made for a next gen console. The problem is when thy make games in the same story arc on other, same gen platforms.

Need to edit my first post.

PS: From the original GoW in 2005 until today we have had a GoW related release every year (except 2006) be it games or collections.

Re: Rumour: Could inFAMOUS Be Shapeshifting onto Vita?

Sutorcen

@Sanquine A bit of topic with the post...

I would love to see past Level 5 games remastered for the Vita.

Dark Cloud or Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2)
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Rogue Galaxy
from PS2

and
Jeanne d'Arc
from PSP

last but not least a Professor Layton game.

Of cource Ni No Kuni too.

Re: Rumour: Could inFAMOUS Be Shapeshifting onto Vita?

Sutorcen

Although we need as many AAA games for the PS Vita and I would be happy to see such a great game appearing on the PS Vita, I would also be disappointed. I am not one who likes when companies milk a franchise and pump out many games of the same IP or in quick succession. One can only play so many God of War, or Metal Gear games. I also don’t like it when a story get’s told on separate same generation consoles. It makes you feel cheated. You are forced to miss out on a chapter of the characters or the world you love, if you don’t own said platform. I would prefer it if they were working on a brand new IP for the PS Vita.

Re: Sony Discussing the Possibility of a PS4 and Vita Bundle

Sutorcen

@Lelouch My dear friend if you buy a PS4 and a PS Vita it will cost you 600 as it is now. The point is to offer a bundle with an attractive price under 600$.

As for the rest who say that a price lower than 600$ is not achievable, consider this.

PS4 RRP is 399$
PS Vita RRP is 199$

Total RRP is 598. At that price Sony can sell a PS4+PS Vita bundle and make profit. But...

The Killzone Shadow Fall bundle costs 499$. If you buy everything separately they will cost you around 580$. That's 80$ off.

So in that sense a RRP of 499$ for a PS4+PS Vita bundle is not out of Sony's possibilities. That would mean 100$ off and Sony Is no stranger to selling consoles at a loss. They did it with the PS3 during its first years. Besides, the bill of materials for the Vita are even lower now. The question is how far is Sony willing to go.

I don't believe that the price point is the real problem. The "One account per Vita" is a more serious obstacle than the combined price of both products. Just imagine the hurdle in a family with multiple PSN accounts. Another thing to consider is a possible hardware upgrade to the PS Vita. If Sony plans to introduce a redesigned/upgraded PS Vita in one or two years, which I'm guessing they will since the mobile graphics will have advanced way past the PS Vita's capabilities, selling a PS4+PS Vita bundle now wouldn't be very... "honest" on their part.

I for one would love to see a PS4+PS Vita bundle. It would mean beyond a doubt that Sony is 100% committed to support the PS Vita.

Re: Review: Spelunky (PlayStation Network - Vita)

Sutorcen

This game would have been great if it allowed you to explore and advance at your own pace. Instead it throws a ghost at you at around 2:30 minutes, which results most of the time in certain death. As for the multiplayer the inclusion of friendly fire makes a very hard game even harder to enjoy with friends. Try before you buy.
