I've been loving it so far, I also loved their last game the artful escape. It's true that they're absolutely more experiences than they are traditional games but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you don't enjoy these types of things that's totally fine. I think it's priced appropriately for what it is. You find a lot of times that when people start jumping on something then all the sheep will follow. Make up your own mind, it's absolutely fine to love it or hate it just don't let others decide for you.
The thing is GTA could absolutely go up to £80 and will still sell eye watering amounts because it's GTA. Other companies need to realise they're not in the same league and trying to copy them would only end badly. We've seen with games that offer good experiences at a reasonable price point such as space marine 2 or expedition 33 have done fantastically well. Would they have done so well priced at £80...absolutely not.
Maybe they want take a long hard look at themselves. Amongst grindy games this one was still an absolute joke, determined to funnel you in to those ridiculously priced micro transactions...in fact I don't think micro transactions is appropriate for the amounts they were asking for things. I actually enjoyed the game for a little bit but that left a bad taste in the mouth and I never returned.
Can we please stop looking for ways to justify these corporations shafting their consumers. It's not a deal if the reduction still equated to what people paid for it at launch or higher. We are living in crazy times and these corporations have been allowed to run amok. All of these companies in the tech sector are heavily involved in AI and therefore responsible for helping create the shortages themselves and then have the audacity to hike prices and say sorry we couldn't help it. Worse than that there's so many people on here quick to help them justify it, wake up!
I love the game however during the boss battle at the end of chapter 5 I was shunted back into another area and then the boss disappeared. Seen numerous stories of things like this and there's no chapter select meaning I have to start right from the beginning again. Incredibly frustrating, Hope they patch in a chapter select in future.
Received my copy really early on Saturday, finished the campaign but would love to find someone to play through it with in co-op, anyone fancy it let me know.
Digital foundry tech review states the frame drops can be quite severe and worse on the pro because of no graphics toggle. Hopefully ironed out in a patch soon.
It's all about Death Stranding 2 for me this weekend. I'm a little over 11 hours in and loving it so far. This feels like the perfect evolution of the things that made the original great. I didn’t enjoy combat in the original but it's great here, catering to your preferred play style. The sequel makes the original look like a proof of concept by comparison and I love the original.
Will definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Been looking for something to scratch that uncharted type itch so hopefully this one will stick the landing.
It's sad that this is necessary but unfortunately there is a small minority of hateful idiots who don't know how to behave. It's fine not to like something but it's not ok to start hurling abuse at people.
Personally I don't think the lack of pvp would be an issue, however they must have the campaign co-op option available. Easily one of my best gaming experiences was playing the original trilogy through with friends.
Really looking forward to this, been wanting something to scratch the fallout style itch I have and this always looks more and more interesting. Also appeals because being from the north east of England this isn't set too far from home.
Man that was such a good game, such a shame we'll likely never see a sequel. Maybe if a film comes out it and has enough interest we could see it rise from the dead, here's hoping.
@Northern_munkey honestly the pro patch for space marine 2 is game changing in terms of the graphics. The performance mode was definitely a very smooth blurry image in places, especially on bigger screens but after the patch it's super sharp even on details in the distance. I'd say it's one of the most impressive pro graphics upgrades so far.
The word legend gets thrown around a little too easy these days, but in this instance it's thoroughly deserved. He'll be a big miss to playstation but I wish him success and happiness in whatever he chooses to do next.
I'll definitely be checking it out at some point because it looks loads of fun, but being sandwiched inbetween assassin's creed and monster hunter means it'll have to wait a little while for me.
So many great games from the ps3 generation, I would love to see them pull it off and do similar to what Microsoft achieved with their backwards compatibility program, and have these games playing at better resolutions and higher framerates.
Great to see still wakes the deep on your list, it's in my top 3 games of the year. Fantastic experience, for anyone that loves the thing, I highly recommend it.
I've been steadily working my way through hitman world of assassination so I'll be continuing with that. I've also just picked up a copy of pacific drive, so I'm looking forward to starting that up as well.
@RedRiot193 Ive been playing with the pro patch on for the last hour or so and it looks great. The resolution has been significantly bumped and I've not seen any of the shimmering issues that have been apparent in some games with the pro patch.
Good to see someone else from the north east, I'm currently living in south shields myself. The playstation was such an impactful console, giving me an introduction to some of my favourite gaming franchises such as resident evil, final fantasy and gta amongst many others.
